I havent played in a year, but i noticed like half my characters do this back pedal animation when I try and go backwards, and the other half of my characters actually turn my character to face the camera and move in that direction.  I can't stand the back pedaling personally and I cant for the life figure out how to get all my characters to just run towards the camera when using the backward bind. What am I missing here? I have combed over every setting and i cant replicate this across the board. Someone said issue 27 borked it with the modern/classic revamp settings. Am I just SOL?

Menu > Options > Controls > Mouse: Change "Invert Mouse" to "Invert" (it's been changed, normal is what inverted was). Then make sure "Look Up and Down" is set to "Free Look," and "Free Camera Movement" is set to "Disabled." Then click on "Save Options to File" at the bottom of the options menu.

 

 Menu > Options > Keymapping: If you don't use any particular binding setup, change "Keybind Profile" to "Classic." Then click on "Save to default file" to the right.

 

You'll have to load the options and load the keybind profile on all of your characters, but that should fix it, and any character you make in the future will automatically use the original City of Heroes controls

I don't know , "S" on the keyboard backs you up, "W" moves forward, "A" strafes left, "D" strafes right, "R" turns forward on auto. If you want to change the Camera veiw you can select "Free Camera Movement" so that it isn't always over your shoulder, it is in the options under Graphics and Audio I believe.

Umm... probably a stance issue. If you've chosen blitz, parkour, ninja etc... they run toward the camera. If you use the default stance, they backpedal. Some run animations also change based on if you're holding a weapon. For instance blitz will run toward the camera, but if you're holding a beam rifle you'll backpedal.

 

The free camera movement thing that other guys is talking about is related to what happens when you change your camera around and then move, ie will it snap back behind you. It doesn't change your run animations and isn't relevant to your question.

Hot damn that was it. LOL. I created so many characters some of them never went to Parkour stance. 

 

And TY Lunar for response as well! That fixed another issue I was having with my movement that I borked on accident trying to fix something else. Thanks all for the replies. :classic_love:
