Does anyone have a budget AFK Rad/Fire brute build?

I need a build that gets me as much fire defense & regen as possible with no purple or unique sets.  I'll budget those later, but I need a starting point.  If it's not possible to do with no purple/uniques, show me the build that can do it with the minimum amount of purple/unique sets.

you can use the experimentation pool if you want, not great for afk farming but amazing for active farming.  dont fucking tell anyone about it tho once word gets out someone can have 4 patches out at once triggering all the incarnate dot procs everyones ganna start doing it and then boom nerfed power pool

also probably not what you wanted since i dont think about regen at all.  you can probably move around the slots for health mules or something.

AFK Farmer Brute builds are very tight. Not so much because of the Defence and Resistance requirements but because of the Passive Regeneration requirements. You really need an absolute bare minimum of 35HP/Sec before Panacea and Performance Shifter Procs, and the higher the better (because it means you become less likely to die to a string of unlucky hits). 40HP/Sec is a good yardstick to aim for.

Fiery Aura has Fire Resistance but it does not have any Native Fire Defense or Passive Regeneration buffs.

The easiest Brute Secondary to build an AFK farmer with is Stone Armor. Brimstone Armor gets you Fire Resistance and Rooted gets you Passive Regeneration, so the only thing you really need to concentrate on is Fire Defense. Plus, until you build up some influence you can just cheese things with Granite Armor (the Recharge reduction means you'll kill things a little slower, but that's not a huge concern for an AFK farmer) - slot up Rooted and Granite, grab Tough and Weave and you're almost ready for AFK S/L farming. When min-maxed it's also one of the best high-end Brute farming secondaries due to +Recharge from Minerals and damage procs from Brimstone Armor.

Ok, so does anyone have an updated guide for how afk fire farming is supposed to work in 2025 (not 2022, 23, etc).  I have tried following those guides and they are no longer relevant.

The mobs don't even aggro like I've seen in some of the old video demonstrations.

Here's what happens when I do this.  I park near the NPC, turn my toggle attack on, and go AFK for 10 minutes, come back, and the map should be clear, or mostly clear, yes?  Well, it's not.  I come back, the NPC is dead, and supposedly invincible phantoms aren't actually invincible, and 50% of the enemies on the map are still there, and I observe a pack walking right past me within 50ft making no attempt to engage my afk tank.  So please tell me how this is supposed to work.

Sure.

Step #1: Look at this thread:

Step #2: Go to AE and search for terms like "Farm" and "AFK" and you'll see plenty of maps that state they're been revamped for the Page5 changes. America's Angel has some good 10 minute Asteroid Farm maps for both AFK and Active farming that deal either Fire or S/L damage.
Worst case you can make your own custom enemy group + map (I've done it for Cold and Psychic damage enemies for my MM farmers!).

Step #3: Make sure your difficulty is set properly. Typically this will be+4x8 with Allow Bosses when Solo and Enabled AVs... but you can reduce the level all the way down to +0x8 and disable bosses if you're struggling to survive. For AFK farming on +4x8 you need 90% resistance and 45% Defense plus AT LEAST 35 HP/Sec passive regeneration.

Step #4: Stick all your toggles on, put your chosen PBAoE on Autofire and Zone in. for Asteroid maps; parking yourself towards the middle of the map rather than at the very edge tends to speed things up; as does starting off by summoning your Lore Pets (Radial Banished Pantheon typically) and enabling your Hybrid (Assault Core/Radial). The America's Angel maps have a glowie to click on otherwise it'll kick you out after 10mins (which can be helpful as it means you'll need less clicking to get to the next map with a fresh batch of enemies)

Some maps have helper NPC allies - these need to spawn as Archvillains not Elite Bosses or they'll die too fast to be useful.
Don't bother with the "40 minute AFK" cave maps. You'll be better off spamming the 10 minute asteroid ones.

Care to post a build for one, preferably one that's not all decked out in purples, something that gets me the bare minimum in defenses and resists?  My budget for an afk brute is like 200m maximum.

I don't possess the game knowledge to experiment with sets, every time I've tried it's gone horribly wrong.  I just copy and use others builds in any game with "theorycrafting" involved because I simply suck at it.

You'll find it a lot easier to build an AFK farmer by making a stone/rad tank instead of brute. Tankers higher base resist values make it far easier to cap f/c resist that you'll struggle to do on a brute. The 2 powers that provide f/c resist (Stone Skin and Brimstone) when slotted similarly as the build I attached below will provide 47% f/c resist to a brute compared to 62% for a tank, that can be a big gap to make up while still getting enough f/c defense to hit 45% on the brute.

Even with the upcoming changes to tanks, they'll still be more reliable at AFK farming due to them being easier to keep alive than the equivalent brute (unless you decide to use Granite, but that has it's own negatives of decreasing recharge/damage and not having the bonus fire damage from Brimstone and bonus recharge from Minerals). I've uploaded a stone/rad tank that I use for AFK farming. It's relatively cheap in that it mostly avoids purples (except the few Armageddon pieces in Atom Smasher), but will still cost a bit because you will need a few uniques/globals. It hits 90% f/c resist and 45% f/c defense, has enough regen to survive.

I do not toggle Rock Armor/Tough as they're not useful on fire farms and are only there for bonuses and to get Weave.

With that sort of cash you'll be looking at a Granite build.

I'd aim for something like the below; which can handle both S/L and Fire farms.
(Note there are a few IOs that need +5'ed in Stone Skin, Granite Armor and the two damage auras)
Brute (Radiation Melee - Stone Armor) - NoPurples.mbd

After you have a bit of scratch you can look at a more expensive Graniteless build which uses Purple and Superior Winter sets to cap Fire Resistance and Defense.
(Like this one: zBrute (Radiation Melee - Stone Armor) - Purples.mbd)
