srmalloy Posted June 21 Posted June 21 As a nod to the way things seem to be done more and more often, I would like to suggest that the text at the bottom of the 'Christie Consolidation' plaques in Kallisti Wharf be changed from 'Paid for by Emil Christie' to "Paid for by a grant from the Emil Christie Foundation", so that Emil can distance himself from the installation of the plaques and lessen any suggestion of self-aggrandizement.
Rudra Posted June 21 Posted June 21 (edited) Fair point, and I'm not against per se, but I do like the current text. Because it does read like self-aggrandizement. He is making sure everyone knows his name rather than trying to be indirect about it through an organization. Kind of like those "I am <insert candidate name> and I support this message", except as "I am Emil Christie, and now you know". From what little I know of him, this would seem to fit the character. If the plaques get changed though? Oh well. They got changed. Edited June 21 by Rudra Edited to correct a period to a comma.

That's one of the reasons I suggested it; it's an obviously transparent move on his part that carries all the same context while being ostensibly divorced from him directly, a more subtle move than some of the machinations Countess Crey orchestrates with CreyCorp. But it's a stylistic thing that could be justified either way, depending on what the HC staff has plans for in the future connected with him.

Because Countess Crey is inept at hiding her activities but she is presented as a great dissembler. As opposed to Emil Christie who in my opinion is portrayed as significantly less capable of subtlety. Just my two cents as it were.
