Build Request: Symphony Control/Sonic Assualt dominator

This powerset interested me when it first came out, want to see suggestions for that build type to see what mayhem I can cause with it 🙂

I just hit 50 on my Symphony/Sonic Dom, and I don't see any builds on the forums so I made a couple builds to try out. Caveat Emptor, I have not tested these first two builds yet, so I will also include the build I respecced into at level 43 which was great for 43-50.

 

Some general comments:

• Make sure Bass Boost is off in Mids because it buffs everything and will throw your numbers off.
• Impassioned Serenade is the heaviest hitting ST ranged attack - slot it for damage and apply liberally.
• Confounding Chant has the highest DPA of ANY attack you can get (though it is a LONG DoT and roughly 40% of the damage is contingent on the stun landing). Slot for damage and recharge, and build your rotation around it. This is probably a good power for Hamis if you have the cash, to max damage, stun and recharge.
• I like to slot full Cupid's Crush in controller pets, and IMO it's excellent in Reverberant - the confuse procs a lot since every power it mirrors does damage except the AOE hold.
• Like any Dom, one of your main decisions is whether you want to play at range or get into melee. With all the cone attacks, staying range is fine for symph/sonic, but there are some great melee options including that nice res debuff aura.

 

First, an expensive  build that softcaps S/L def, emphasizes ranged controls and recharge for permadom, Hasten and Hoarfrost. If you don't mind a little KB, replace the OF proc in Shockwave with a FF +recharge proc.

Here's a much cheaper melee-focused build (Scrapinator?) with softcapped melee def and S/L resists. Lots of PBAOE damage output, but still solid AOE controls. I may try this one out with a Musculature alpha.

Also, I made a Symphony/Sonic dom and did not like it at all.  Symphony likes to stay at range for maximum cone use and Sonic likes to be in melee a lot (four of it's 9 powers are melee, arguably the 4 best). 

 

However, I did REALLY like a Symphony/Dark/Ice Controller that I made where I used a bunch of Bombardment to get an extra 40% range on all attacks and 120% with Clarion!
