Redletter Posted July 16 Posted July 16 So, in the spirit of Marvel Rivalz stunningly adapting YA BOY I was inspired to try and make a character inspired by the aforementioned YA BOY However! I'm kinda stuck. Part of this all just feels *off* and something's not clicking in my testing. I *feel* like it's World of Confusion, as appropriate as it is, it feels like a power that doesnt belong here, or, if it does, it needs a different slotting. Part of me thinks I should abandon the way Ive slotted Phantom Army, and instead, move Cupid's Crush into Phantom Army, so while the Phantoms are going around smacking everyone, theyre also *literally* causing confusion. I'm also not sold on Mystic Flight. I *want* to teleport, I'm considering replacing it for Combat Teleport. Likewise, Im not big on Decieve being like this, I feel like I should be slotting Decieve for *damage*, giving it procs. I dont know. I *like* how it feels to jump between my phantoms, my spectre, and my team with Combat Teleport, but there's just something that's not clicking. I don't know what it is. *Maybe* im mixing too much melee in, and I should try a more dedicated ranged attacker. Earpiercer is only slotted this way because I needed a place for the +dam ATO, and it was basically the perfect mule for that. I dunno! Im gonna still mess around with it, but, Im looking for imput before the next round of tests. Resident certified baby

I dont know. I *like* how it feels to jump between my phantoms, my spectre, and my team with Combat Teleport, but there's just something that's not clicking. I don't know what it is. *Maybe* im mixing too much melee in, and I should try a more dedicated ranged attacker. Earpiercer is only slotted this way because I needed a place for the +dam ATO, and it was basically the perfect mule for that. I dunno! Im gonna still mess around with it, but, Im looking for imput before the next round of tests. You have 4 attacks. None of them are slotted for damage. T1 attack is junk. Shockwave is a cone requiring repositioning. Deafening Wave requires you be in melee range. Earsplitter requires you be in melee range. You have disruption aura which wants you in melee. World of Confusion wants you in melee. Slotting is all over the place. For reasons i can't understand. Why did you 6 slot link minds that way? If you'd used the full set of reactive you'd get better recharge. Instead you used 5 bits and tossed in a luck of the gambler so you end up with less recharge. And thats just from working from bottom to top 🙂 I've played a lot of ill domi and a lot of sonic blast toons but never paired them up they look like one of the more awkward pairings but since this is CoH and anything goes and anything can be made to work i'm pretty sure you could get this going the way you liked. Shockwave is really handy in it being a useful place to slot force feedback+rech which you can spam to keep PA out i'd bet. Just using your power picks i tried to look at how i'd slot it and it looks pretty awful. Decide on a chain of single target attacks before you make any other picks, strident echo-shout-earsplitter so at least you have something to pick off bosses with, shriek-scream-shout if you don't want to melee (in that case dump disruption aura, i'd get rid of WoC too but it does look cool and doesn't really need any slots) Get a good aoe or 2, shockwave and deafening wave are gonna mean you need to be moving constantly to line up from range before going back into melee. Shockwave and Psy Nado if your going to stay at range, Deafening Wave and Psy Nado if your going to melee. Psy Nado/Shockwave for spamming a power that slots an FF+Rech. My mids won't update to latest version so i'll toss on a pic of what your build looks like with current power picks but different slotting. Your playstyle matters when it comes to making builds. Do you wanna play safe at range with minor damage or up close in melee with major damage but higher chance of faceplanting. Are you willing to stay constantly moving and repositioning or do you just wanna hop into 1 spot and stay there and spam attacks. Before you make your build decide how you want to play this toon. If you decide on range your going for ranged attacks, if you decide on melee take all the melee attacks, if your willing to keep moving take a mix but make sure its a mix that allows you to put out damage and slot your attacks for that. Its hard with ill domi's because you want max recharge to keep PA up but shockwave/psy nado (or both) are a way around that. Some ideas: Forgot to stick disruption aura in the one with melee attacks.
