Broadsword-OR-Katana/Psi Armor

Haven't really done much with the melee AT's, curious about using either broadsword or Katana paired with Psi armor for thematic reasons.

Which one has quicker flowing animations? I really dislike any handheld weapon that feels slow and cumbersome. Not necessarily tied to it being Scrapper either, just curious about the potential combination(s) and maybe a springboard build to try out. Thanx

Katana is fast fast fast CHONK

 

BS is CHONK CHONK CHONK CHONK

 

Both look awesome. Play to flavor.

Broad Sword is a very slow high animation lock set that needs a small improvement.

Battle Axe is nearly the same with better AoE and no unnecessary +Def Power. (However tuned Activation times that feel snappier)

Katana is reactive and has a smooth attack chain.

War Mace has Clobber which eats endurance but destroys bosses.

I would like to know as well. I just had an idea for a kat/psi toon and input is welcome.

I’d go brute. The cone heal I didn’t care for as much as the aoe one.
