sponazgul Posted yesterday at 03:43 PM Posted yesterday at 03:43 PM In my most recent arc, I have a problem. I have a mission where I want there to be enemy elements, but also civilians who should just be around. I created a group of minion level characters to be civilians - no attacks (i originally created them using the People setting but then I had problems with them being part of a patrol group, maybe I need to revisit that.) I made the patrol neutral so they wouldn't bother the players (if they were enemy, they'd follow the players but be unable to attack and I didn't want that either) The problem: the enemy elements just murder them which was not my intent. If I could make the patrol Stationary, that would probably limit the chances of them having map enemies blunder into them. I am bringing this topic here for discussion or alternatives - i already added it as a request to the AE content thread in the Suggestions forum
cranebump Posted yesterday at 04:23 PM Posted yesterday at 04:23 PM You can keep a group stationary by creating a non-objective friendly boss and surrounding them with minions. They'll stay in place and not attack anything, unless they happen to end up near an enemy group or something. I have done a TON of AE work, both long form and single arc. Just search the AE mish list for my sig @cranebump. For more information on my stories, head to the AE forum sub-heading and look for “Crane’s World.” Support your AE authors! We ARE the new content.

I appreciate the tip (it will spare some civilians from the Ultrahorde, I hope.)
