VEAT (Soldier) animations not working with Crab Spider Aether costume

So I am aware that one of the latest updates gave us alternative animations for the Soldier gun attacks, ways to use the Crab Backpack/Mace for them instead, etc.

So I tried to be a bit cheeky with it, and wear an Arachnos Crab Spider Aether Costume, but use Bane Spider powers/the guns with alternative Crab pack animations, thinking that it would work fine as long as I had the Crab Animations for the gun powers.

Turns out, my cheekiness was too cheeky and the game didnt like that at ALL. The powers still come out the gun, regardless of whether or not I have the aether costume on or not, despite the fact I specifically set them to Crab animations.

Plz assist.
