Hobbes1266
Just to touch on the mass media aspect that Zolgar went into, I don't believe an abundance of available information would mean an abundance of information known by any individual. The sheer amount of heroes and villains would make it unlikely that your typical player character would be well known by the public, including other player characters. I put them on par with any other type of 'celebrity'. Authors, sports players, actors, musicians, etc. I am sure there are musicians you know on sight that I would be like ".. wait, that was someone famous?" And I am sure I know musicians on sight that you have probably never heard of. The same goes for heroes/villains. I may not know every hero/villain by name... but knowing any given one by their "public name" isn't really that unlikely. Always happy to answer questions in game, typically hanging around Help. Everyone knows the incarnates. They are mega superstars. Level 50’s are still A-list celebrities, just not able to command a spot in the “top 100” list. Level 40-49 are your B-list celebrities. Level 31-39 are like a-list music stars, models, athletes. Etc, etc...and under level 10 are unknowns making a name for themselves. And with the FRSB and smart phones, I always imagine that I have access to an online database or registered superhumans, villains, etc. I know it’s not perfect role play , but I am a RP lightweight. It's a pretty good gauge if the player doesn't give you more to go off of. Like, my character, the Silver Hornet, I mention that they were a moderately known hero ... who died in the Praetorian War. So even if the security level CURRENTLY doesn't line up with how well known they would be, some may recognize them and be like "... wait, you ded."
