Glowies no sound

I recently installed on a new computer.  My glowies don't make the woooob-wooooob-woooob sound.   Or any sound for that matter.  It sometimes makes it harder to find things.  Any idea how to correct this issue?  Thanks!

What type computer and software version?

What I will say is my experience is constant & very similar: No glowie sound (in 4 years on speaker) -- though if I plug in headphones, it works!

 

I've since taken to modifying the sound via CoH Modder. That works really well.

You may want to check these settings if it's a windows PC. Be sure to scroll down and check all levels.

This is exactly why I have Double Loud Glowie from CoH Modder installed.   I'd have to wear headphones otherwise.

Tangentially related, but as there are a lot of Glowie mods, is there any consensus on what is the loudest/best? Without changing the sound to something else entirely? Even just anecdotal suggestions would help.

On topic: If you're looking for the Volume Mixer on Windows 11, you can go to the Settings Menu, System, Sound & Scroll down to the Volume Mixer there. It will record different levels for different audio inputs but if some software is changing it (like Discord) or the option in System, Sound, More Sound Settings then on the Communications Tab, then sometimes the volume mixer can 'save' lower or higher than it should.

Well, I pick Double Loud because it's twice as loud, but the same sound.   The one with the submarine ping cuts thru background the best, but I couldn't stand the sound of it.
