Can we get a proper ignore/block function?

When I put someone on ignore I don't want to see them. Ever. I don't want to see that they've posted with the option of seeing what they posted. I don't want them to see or be able to interact with any of my posts. I don't want to see their reactions to my posts. I don't want to know they exist.

I don't understand why we don't have this.

Do other forums work that way?

I know some will keep you from seeing what they post, but thats as far as it goes.

I don't peruse many forums so I honestly don't know. But if they don't, they should.
