jellybeard Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Hi, I've just got myself all loaded up and have a warning message that the laptop integrated intel video card driver is out of date. I have a proper video card in my laptop so I am confused why I get this message. Do you reckon that CoH will try to use the integrated card? How can I tell which it is using? Thanks all in advance, so excited !!!
Koda651 Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Intel laptops with an NVidia card are typically configured to run many non-GPU-intensive programs on the integrated chip to reduce heat and save power. The majority of modern PC games can detect your dedicated card regardless and will use it automatically. CoH isn't a "modern" PC game anymore. Run the NVidia Control Panel app and create a custom profile for the City of Heroes executable, then change the settings from there to force it to use your dedicated graphics card.
jellybeard Posted April 25, 2019 Author Posted April 25, 2019 Awesome thanks. I still get the warning message, but I see CoH using the Nvidia card in the GPU status app.
Chuckers Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 I find it humorous that the game is telling me my video card is out of date, especially since it's better than anything I used to run the game previously!
