The Fifth Horseman
Are you getting this error from Tequila or the game client?

somnos31
SOLVED: I previously had a version error, I used -noversioncheck to get around this. It worked for awhile until the latest Parsing error. I 1. Remove the -noversioncheck from the Tequila options (if you did this previously) 2. Delete Tequila from the registry per https://score.savecoh.com/index.php?topic=372.0 (search Registry) 3. Run Tequila again, point it to the Tequila directory. 4. Re-validated just to be on the safe side. 5. LOGIN SUCCESSFUL
LaRowen
Okay, I have this, but I have an old alienware Windows 7 computer, and I'm not as savvy as I thought so I need easy step-by-step instructions. I DID manage to get the game up and running on this computer after they fixed the mainifest error, last Saturday, but it won't work with the patch. I don't see a -nonversioncheck under options, so not sure what that's about. I am really clueless about messing with a registry, so I will need to see more step by step instructions, sorry. If anyone can help, I'll be deeply grateful so I don't have to buy a whole new system right now. Many thanks, LaRowen/Original Risha/ Robin D. Owens. The Fifth Horseman
I don't see a -nonversioncheck under options, so not sure what that's about. It's not relevant any longer, and doesn't seem to be working any more either. I am really clueless about messing with a registry, so I will need to see more step by step instructions, sorry. If anyone can help, I'll be deeply grateful so I don't have to buy a whole new system right now. Start Btton -> Find/Run -> REG DELETE HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tequila
LaRowen
I did the start, find/run REG DELETE HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tequila and it says no files found... I still get sent to an "unknown" server showing green, but never connects. Back to looking for a new system, I guess.
Silk
Read my guide. Link is in my siggy. For the registry fix there's more details on page 4 I think it was, try to go look manually to find the tequila keys. If it was working before but not now then something didn't patch right. Instructions: Go to your game folder and find a file called tequila.xml and delete it. Make sure you get the tequila.xml and not the tequilalog.xml. Go to my guide, link in siggy, and download the attachment in the first post. It is the update tequila.xml you just deleted in your game folder. Put this new one back into your game folder. Delete the desktop shortcut that you use that start tequila. Verify the registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Tequila if it there delete the Tequila folder. For the registry there is a mini guide on page 4 on my guide that shows/explain how to find the registry key for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cryptic\coh. It's the same procedure but you need to find HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Tequila instead. Go back to your game folder and start tequila.exe, if you deleted the registry key correctly it should ask you what the install path is. This is your game folder point it to that and it should update/revalidate tequila and you should be able to play. Keep in mind on the tequila launcher SCORE will have been replaced with HOMECOMING. Silk
Walk me through what exactly you are doing to start the game? Post a pic of what your tequila window looks like. I have never done remote connection so I am not keen on doing that tbh. Install and Troubleshooting Guide v2 WayBackMachine old forums Calistin ~ on Discord. Retired Game Master GM Xellx Posted May 10, 2019 Retired Game Master Share Posted May 10, 2019 LaRowen, Before we start, make sure Tequila is closed, and not on the taskbar. goto your game directory before COH folder; Example " C:\Program Files\Games\COH\" One in bold. Right click on the COH Folder - (you will know if its the right folder as the cityofheroes.exe is inside) And you should see something alike to this. See the "Read only" bit thats ticked? Untick it, and relaunch Tequlia. Should load the manifest now =) Give that a go, let me know how you get on =)
