  1. I have been looking at these forums for AR/Devices builds that would maybe fit my concept.  My character is called the Expeditionist as her entire focus conceptually is Leading the offensives into hostile villain territory.  Think of her more as a big game hunter turned hero fighting to push back the savagery of villainy.  She is not a soldier sporting a rocket launcher and most certainly isn't a villain or rogue.  It goes against her theme to do mace so what alternatives on purely hero side are available to get a solid set up.  Keep in mind she will be taking 4 ldr powers.  The three toggles and vengeance for thematic reasons.

  2. Got a friend who hasn't played since before the live shutdown.  He is a ninja/poison MM and I made a psi/WP brute.  Looking for a good build to do most things duo without the p2w stuff so he can learn the game again.

Borderless Fullscreen will do exactly as you describe, if the game is set to a resolution other than the monitor's native resolution.

I had this happen to me the other day, actually, when I started up Fallout 4 with Borderless turned on, rather than just outright Full Screen.  Game was running in 640, monitor is 1080, I got the top left 1/4 of the screen being the game, the rest my desktop.

My in game resolution is set to 1920 x 1080, going to borderless window makes it take up only 2/3 of the screen.

  4. Looking for ideas for an El/El stalker for speedrunning missions and TFs  I will be taking recall friend and not taking a regular travel power as lightning reflexes and ninja run should be plenty.  I always have jetpacks stocked up if flight is needed.  Thing is I  don't know how to build melees at 50 yet.

I'll just agree to disagree here.

A BUILT Tank really has no need for a zero-damage medium-control attack.  Even with KB converted to KD.
Quite simply, there are better power picks out there.

Though I could see it as Yet Another Option for those complaining about the Rage Crash.
"Our attacks do no damage and our Defense craters!
    *HAND CLAP*

also <HAND CLAP> attacks now come back up faster.  you seem to have missed that part.

Why?  Gives you a few ranged options as well as an option to lock-down runners.

Also, the build I put up should exemp just fine.

Attack chain is ALWAYS a problem with SS.

Unfortunately Hand Clap is a complete waste of a power pick, as the ONLY thing it does is breaks up your carefully assembled mobs.

If it did even Minor damage, it'd be at least worth a look.  But not as it is.

This is not entirely correct.  Hand Clap while as it stands unslotted is not great for WP with a kb-kd and a feedback proc in it you can get good mileage out of it.  Keep in mind that if a mob is lying at your feet it isn't hitting you and is still contributing +regen so even if you only use the 1 slot it can be a nice bit of mitigation.

  7. I found el/rad a great pairing.  Even before finishing my build it is very strong.  I called it Nuclear Powerpland and little did I know when I made it I would live up to the name so well.  It produces end for the team amazingly between it's ability to siphon end from enemies and give it to allies in the area and accelerate metabolism.  there are times when my toggle hold will hold something in time for the end it gets to tick so it doesn't do anything and then when it can move again the end is gone again so it spends a lot of time not doing stuff.  between that, the t9 /rad hold and the el/ target area hold you have a TON of control.  There there is your sleep that is a psudopet that pulses the sleep many times.  and your confuse while seeming to be single target jumps from one to another so it is infact an area power in a sense.  Oh yeah the -to hit -def toggle and then the -resist -damage toggle.  These 2 make your all squishy teams a bit turdier and the effect on AV's is invaluable.  Then you get your regen debuff.  It slows also but that regen debuff is the difference between a 2 minute fight and a 10 minute fight.

  8. Ok this is my build at 42.  I could not seem to lower the enhancement levels in pines so the 1 set piece in charged armor is 43, half the  EA in conductive aura are attuned and the others will be as soon as I can get the merrits.  I plan on doing a lot of that since I plan on running TFs with this toon so expect to exemp often.  the other EA in that power and EM are all lvl 30's.  I plan on doing doctored wounds on RA and ragnarok on chain fences.  The eventual goal is obviously perma-AM and hasten and I still need to yoink end with power sink on teams later with all toggle buffs/debuffs going.  the rest of the IOs are all. 22.  I am just out of money at the moment as I spent a lot on getting those catalysts to get half of my set on CA done.  I got stuff on the market at the moment but until it sells I am broke.

  9. I main an el/rad troller.  Back in live it was an ice/kin troller, I got her to 50 back then not yet there with the el/rad.  On most groups I was doing today I didn't even bother casting my rad debuffs.  Why you may ask would you not cast some of the best debuffs in the game? the boss melted in the animation ofthe first one and there was nothing left to anchor it to.  I mostly felt like an AM bot and  then we hit it.  the end of the mission arch and an av to take 2 minutes to kill.  2 minutes mind you because I was there and 5 minutes without me.  I know because I got stunned by 1 and he almost stopped taking damage at all while I waited for my debuffs to recharge.  our team was taking a lot of damage when the ff guy left but while he was there it felt like he was doing jack but bubbling us.  I knew he was keeping us from taking the damage but it still felt like he was taking up space but he was making it so I didn't need to use my heal except in very rare instances and I really was the centerpiece of the team when we hit those AV's.  Just remember a hit avoided is a hit not noticed and you make the hit get avoided more.  you notice when you get hit for half your life.  By the way I have been on teams with 2 other rands before and the only thing we really did was keep AM on perma.  With three of us we could re-cast it just before it dropped but because we were there nobody ran low on end.  I have been the tank and the blaster and corruptor when those 3 am's kept me blasting and I didn't notice because I was too busy blasting or tanking.  every support except heals is going to feel this way.  We notice when the bad stuff happens and we don't notice that it didn't unless we were anticipating the problem with significant attention.  I think back to an episode of Futurama where Bender meets a satelite that collided with God.  The advice he gave for being a good diety is advice that applies here for supports.  if you do it right they won't be sure you did anything at all.  This includes you.

  10. dude like seriously you don't  take flash arrow? also you must never fight in caves/indoor maps.  Electric net arrow is a decent quick attack u can use to save other squishies and hte aforementioned flash arrow may save your team from some of those wipes.  can't tell u how often  a second grp gets agroed and I throw a -to hit on them and it turns a would be death of us to a win with 1 or 2 dieing instead.  I have used the net and the ice arrow to save other blasters, healers, and such from that big mech boss that the tank/brute missed grabbing agro on long enough for them to notice they are missing a punching bag.  DO they make a HUGE difference? no, they make enough of a difference and you will get your min/max with or without them either way.  one time I soloed one of those boss mechs that tried to blitz our healer while the group mopped up the other mobs because blaster DPS and enough control to give me just enough time.

  11. Mostly because traps is terrible. It has one great power (ff generator), a couple of decent powers (acid mortar, poison gas trap) and a bunch of mediocre to garbage powers. Weak mitigation, clunky mechanics that are at odds with how teams play, and stupidly long cooldowns. You're better off just being an AR/Devices blaster.

Hopefully traps gets some trickle down love from the devices changes currently on test.

But it's so awesome and u don't get the awesome SCOURGE as a blaster.  Not saying the set can't use some work but it is also a decent solo set as the setup allows you to do your stuff before you grab the mobs.  There are better effective sets for solo sure, but none with the same tactical feel.  Preping for the fight then pulling things into your minefield and watching them splat is fun.  This game is not all about the min/max.  Some enjoy the min/max and I like to min/max certain characters.  Some people like to roleplay.  I like to do that and this is definitely a roleplay type character.

  12. So I am leveling an AR/traps at the moment.  26 now and OH MY POOR BLUE BAR.  I have an exploit weakness 4 set in my snipe for it's 7 to hit and when combined with tactics atm I am sitting at around 97 to hit.  Thinking of going Lady Gray for acid mortar and not sure what to do with burst.  Slug has 2 pieces of overwhelming force that I got out of my 2 summer blockbuster runs.  I am wondering if I should spec burst for accurate defense debuff since shield breaker is so useful to my endurance hungry self or if I should just wait til incarnate to fix that.  I respeced out of M30 grenade as it pretty much makes me just have to go into rest mode int he middle of a fight.  BTW I have SO end redux in my powers atm x2 end red SO in burst, in slug, in buckshot and still end up resting after every fight.  basically 2 end redux 2 acc setup in those right now.  x3 SO end mods in stamina.  I assume the end problems will go away at some point but I have no idea what I am doing building this at the moment.

  13. and then somebody invites an actual tank and there goes the Brutes' damage output.  Meanwhile, the Scrappers just keep on killing.

Brute:  "Oh shit, there goes my Fury."

Scrapper:  "Look at THAT clump of bad guys!"

for me it goes more like this.

    <Tanker joins team>

<brute still has agro from all my aoe damage>

    Tanker "wow you're a beast"

This is why a lot of tankers keep saying they need buffs.  the AOE brutes do their job pretty much on par and better than them in most content.  Scrappers deal more but generate less agro, tankers will hold the bosses atteention and a couple more but the brute has everything else and they like it.  If you are playing a single target set you are better off with scrapper, if you are playing an aoe set and wanna feel like Atlas or Heracles (Hercules in roman Heracles in Greek) brute.  If you wanna feel like a food processor on legs scrapper.  If you want that big guys attention undivided tanker.  Of course this all assumes equal skill.  The brute has to break a little earlier from this mob to take the alpha of the next mob while the tanker holds down the last few enemies of the current pack.  Also if u time your taunts right you can take most stuff off the tanker if u want it.  each AT fits in surprisingly well with as many ATs and power-sets as there are.  I am still trying to figure out how the sentinels fit into all this.  Right now they seem fun but a little under-powered on teams.  More geared to a solo toon.

  14. Thanks m8, this is a streeam character on redside I end up soloing a lot because redside is empty most of the time.  I was running +0/2 and +0/3 missions with the build before.  Will it be about the same or would I likely be able to go higher.  I am 21 at the moment

  15. also what pools to take when.  I remember years ago (before going rogue or AE.  In fact I asked I think almost when vilains were brand new what character would be abpe on red side to run max difficulty missions sooner.  This was before the +level +number system we have now.  I was told roll a SS/WP brute and I would be rolling down max diff paper missioons by the time I was 30.  I got that brute to 36ish and was still struggling with a small jump in mission difficulty so I assume slotting and basic IOs would have a lot to do with it.  I do plan on using basic IOs as I level but what to put, where and when.  I 3 slotted RTTC and stuck 3 lvl 20 to hit debuffs int here and it doesn't seem to make much of a difference as to no slots.  I 6-slotted my active resist with SO 3 lvl 20 resist and end reduction I 6-slotted HPT 3 resist 3 health I plan on swapping both those over to 25 IOs. am I doing it wrong?
