I'd like to see Energy Melee ported to scrappers.

Also the only thing I feel is wrong with energy melee is the cast speed. Like many powers in this game it doesn't make sense to me for any power that takes longer than 2 seconds to actually cause damage that it has roughly the same amount of damage as a quick firing 1 - 2 power or just barely more. That to me seems backwards and with the last two powers taking 3 to nearly 4 seconds to cause damage they really should hit harder and not miss as much as they seem to. But slow activation powers not doing enough damage is many sets on all ats. The easiest change would be to take what dominators have for energy assault and apply that to energy melee. You get stored power and then abilities like total focus activate much quicker.

If accessible, I've always set the fan profile to On/Full on laptops at this point. Not on my MBP though as I can use MacFanControl for that on all the installed OS'.

Yeah its a coh only issue. it just causes the laptop to get too hot... I can play bdo and other more modern graphically intensive games at max settings and not have this issue. Having undervolted though I no longer have the problem, nor did undervolting cause a crash or loss in performance. The auto settings are always higher than they need to be.

  3. 1fps might be throttling. I had to download throttlestop and undervolt my cpu to fix a heat issue since laptops don't have adequate cooling for gaming and you might look into the samething if you still have issues with the laptop. Goto youtube and search for throttlestop to find a video tutorial with settings and the steps to make the program automatically run when windows starts. You can download it from techpowerup https://www.techpowerup.com/download/

Also open your gpu software and make a profile for coh to use the gaming gpu rather than the integrated pos. Do this for opengl, physxx etc.

I'd like to have the loincloth belts worn by the female BP shamansesseses. Those seem to be normal human female models, as opposed to the custom models some enemy groups have, so I don't see why they couldn't be easily implemented.

Those also worked on titan icon /paragon chat along with the banshee long skirt. You can manually change the texture too if you'd rather not have them ripped or torn.

    Hey, @Noyjitat?

Jimmy and I sorta got in to it a while back about "the player's choice" versus "the dev's responsibility to quality."

    https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/14462-could-we-please-get-these-costume-pieces-moved-from-dev-only

Basically, I'm on the side of "the player should get to make the decision on what does and doesn't look good for their own character."  Jimmy expressed a differing opinion.

So, basically . . . short of finding a way to help convince Jimmy (and any other members of the Homecoming Team who hold similar views), I think we might be waiting a long while yet.

Well at the very least there are tons of npc costume parts that currently don't clip and fit just fine. They just need to be added to the costume creator like the ones homecoming has already ported over.

I imagine it isn't a priority for whomever does this part of the development; though I did expect to see more of them by now with the server being a year old.

You volunteering to rig models for it and then make new animations for each power in the game just for long robes?

The robe worn by the mastermind Oni pet works for both male and female characters and doesnt require rigging. Got it on titan icon and paragon chat.

The short skirts we do have already look pretty terrible when the character is moving.  I have a female Street Justice tank that uses one of the knee-length skirts, and it looks awful when she does any kicks.

Agreed but that should be a player choice at the very least. Let me have the option of wearing something regardless of how bad it may or may not clip.

also like the option of having 2 different hairstyles so you can combine them to make something new or even pick a hair style and a hat/helmet.

I dont expect the art folks to fix any

of it just give us the option to use it regardless.

    A fraction thereof, perhaps.

It would be an enormous buff to suddenly have six henchemen all suddenly softcapped with strong resistances evne when soloing regardless of your secondary, and to have essnetuailly immortal and untouchable minions if you had a buffing set for your secondary.

I mean... I admit, part of would greedily like the buff for my three MM's.

But, they do have to consider how this would fit into the larger context of the game.

While I’m not agreeing with the ops suggestion I’m not totally against it either...

Now for your statement on softcapped defense. On pets it doesnt work the way you think it does. It works completely different like certain powersets do for players/ats. Try a force field mastermind sometime and you’ll see just how often they dont dodge/deflect. Unless all you fight is even conned npcs that is.

keep in mind 5 of your pets are 1-2 levels

lower than you and that alone changes how defense works.

i think id rather see set bonuses left the way they are and instead given more tools to support my pets in the form of merging the two upgrade powers and replacing them with a mastermind pet only buff sort of like repair on robotics. Or better yet do this for both upgrades and simply make the upgrades something you inherently get at the appropriate levels.

Thats a pretty radical change to the at though which is something I usually wouldn’t suggest as I feel homecoming has changed too much already.

So RSF and STF are meant to be two of the most difficult task forces in the game. Obviously, with incarnates and IOs that difficulty is a lot less, but some teams still struggle (there was a thread about it recently).

However..the difficulty of the two is far and away skewed, with STF never fighting more than 4 Avs at once (which are easily seperated) and a final fight of just one AV, Lord Recluse.

    And he sucks.

He sucks because he is EASILY gimped by simply flying over him, or, as I saw tonight, spawning a Crafting Station in front of his tower doors. This KEPT his attention the entire time, and just makes a complete mockery of the battle.

    Make Lord Reculse great again.

Give him a Webgrenade power with a HUGE range, easily spammable on silly melees who think 'tanking' means to hover over him.

Remove whatever AI block makes him really really HATE those crafting stations.

It is meant to be one of the toughest fights in the game.

He would still be easy even with the change. The game is largely tank and spank and thats why nothing outside of a select few trials are difficult. Need hard mode versions of all tfs with damage circles like and stuff that force you to actually move or die. The mom trial, keyes, apex tf and magisterium do this well.

i say hard mode meaning it’s optional and in the tf list or at the contact. They would offer classic and hardmode.

My only issue with perma-dom is this: its fucking BORING. Its active, yes....but its not stimulating in any sense of the word. Perma-dom is boring as hell to play and requires such weird singular focus to do that I've honestly been putting off the 20% to 50 my dom needs to actually hit proper 50 even though she's well above perma dom already.

    Its just BORING TO PLAY.

Seriously...perma-dom requires so much focus that my brain just...shuts off, even faster then normal brain-dead play in the game (54 PI coucil missions, etc). I don't find it fun...straight up. Yes perma-dom is INSANELY OP, instantly locking down bosses is huge deal that even controllers can't compare to since they only have a chance at the +1 mag vs a flat out auto-DOUBLE mag buff? How is that NOT OP as fuck compared to any baseline?

I get way more satisfaction outta my controller alts then I do my dom alts because I feel less stress and expectation, controllers are just more 'fun' compared....doms feel like they have an expectation of perma-dom at 50 that's required and if you don't meet it? Might as well just solo because people are gonna give you shit constantly on teams 😕

Comparing a controller to a dominator is stupid. Controllers have next to defender level buffs, debuffs and heals and controls that last the longest without the need of a domination power. A dominator has damage less than a blaster/scrapper but better than a controller/corruptor/defender and the doms controls last half as long as a controller but have double mag . A job of a dominator is to control it with that double mag and then kill it before it expires.

Gonna start by saying I agree that the hard line between perma and non perma Dom is not ideal and overall I'm not opposed to looking at it. But I also don't think it's a big deal. I'm not a fan of this particular suggestion, really because the con you mentioned would have a pretty decent sized impact on me. Not a game breaker or anything, but I wouldn't like it. I did read through the thread, but if this suggestion has been changed I missed it.

Giving Doms a better ATO proc/ability would be fucking awesome in my opinion and I love this idea. Obviously the details would matter, but this is the kind of suggestion I can get behind.

You can definitely influence the Scrapper crits with their ATOs, but not as much as Stalker crits and optimizing does require some numbers work that people may or may not want to deal with. Though I get you still may not be a fan of that, which I get.

Because changing it would alter someones builds including my own I wouldn't want the current ATOs to be replaced but I do want is a 2nd set of ATOS for dominator secondaries. Something that to me seems to be needed for some ATs anyway. Blasters being the exception since they have ATOs that function in both primary and secondary sets. Doms need something to proc on attacks since you will rarely ever be spamming the same control to even get the benefit of a proc.

  12. Think all I could agree to is making it easier to build the domination bar. Permadom itself is fine the way it is and should not be something you can get without investing effort besides sos and a few cheap sets.

Else you’re just radically changing yet another power in this case basically the entire AT just to make it easy for the average joe.

  13. About the only thing I could agree to would be making domination last a bit longer and even then I dont think it needs to be changed. All my doms have perma dom + soft capped ranged defense before hasten is even turned on and I was able to meet my goals for the character.

    control it, kick its ass.

and quit comparing controllers to dominators. A controller is supposed to control most, while provide buffs and debuff, support and some damage while the pet or team mates finish it off. Two entirely different characters.

both when built right are able to take point for the team in most situations but they are certainly different characters.

in the end I dont think anything needs to

change here. You should be expected to invest in the character with more than the cheapest ios if you want perma

    dom.

Card games and MMOs are absolutely filled with examples of abilities, strategies, etc that were changed to be less powerful because they threatened the health of the game. These are, like, the actual worst game genres to explain to me in an attempt to convince me that things critically must not change. I'm sure that Flash was very fun for some MTG players but since it could win before your opponent even drew their first card while going first the card was banned. More specifically for CoH, the whole "enhancement diversification" deal happened because characters running around with perma-Hasten, six-slotted Stamina, attacks with six damage SOs and Focused Accuracy threw balance so far out of whack that scaling enemies up to threaten this new baseline would utterly demolish everyone who didn't build optimally.

Sometimes it seems that people were so happy to adopt the terminology "nerfed" for any downwards adjustment, even sensible ones, that they appear to believe that anyone raising concerns over the centralisation of some pool powers and some kinds of IO sets is inherently arguing that those things must be made useless.

Maybe thats because most nerfs are not sensible and are the  result of bitchy whiners. you’re never going to convince me its unhealthy for the game just because most people use it. It only makes sense to maximize your characters with the tools given to you.

"That can't be true because if it is then the next thing you'll do is so-and-so" is a bad argument. Maybe it is poor design that everyone takes Tough and Weave, maybe the Leadership pool presents design problems, maybe the IO system itself is a design problem, maybe what power pools are meant to really do should be investigated. You're just assuming that the present system must be kept as it is. Every question of design is best approached with an open mind and an honest examination of your premises and goals.

Never mind that humans can in fact just stop at some arbitrary point because they feel like it. The HC team could decide that they want Hasten to function as-is but be a final tier power to reward those who dedicate themselves to Super Speed, they could decide that the Leadership pool is a problem but they don't have a good solution and they could decide that the Fighting pool is fine as it is.

This game, that game, all games; players Find and invest in what makes the characters as powerful, fun and self sufficient as possible. This is true in mmos, and card games like you want the stats that help you win.

I’ll continue to point out things like: leadership, speed and the fighting pool have remained unchanged other than new powers added to them to make them even better. Burnout was added to hasten, cross punch was added to fighting, and finally victory rush was added to leadership; all of which was during the last few live issues by the paragon dev team. All of which were added without the nerfs.

Still after nearly a decade of no coh; A small group of whiners that dont like how everyone else plays or builds characters want to radically change or remove things you feel are broken or abused because that’s your viewpoint.

Continue to nerf and remove things

and eventually people will start moving to the other projects. Thats really the only

way players can vote at this point. All the shinys wont be enough to hold onto players if the pool powers, incarnates and ios are suddenly no longer effective.

A pool power that is placed into the build of virtually every high level player in the game is broken.

No thats just being smart with your build.

next you’ll say the same thing about tough and weave.

then you’ll move onto steadfast and gladiators armor procs

then you’ll move onto leadership pool.

  18. I made a warmachine like power armor on the titan icon program and tested effects there long ago before the game came back. Got missiles, and blasters etc that can work with the pack and then you can use various blasts on from robots and others for gauntlet attacks. If I get some time i'll throw together a video of what I got to work as something else to add onto your idea. Its something I wanted for along time and all of the assets are already there.
