  1. This game is dying, in much the same way literally all of us are dying. One day, CoH won't have enough people to sustain servers. One day, there may not be anyone with both the skills and desire to port it to run on future hardware and OSes. One day, the game itself might be effectively forgotten. Its death is inevitable but, well, so is mine. But y'know what? That's okay. It came back and got the time it deserved rather than the premature death first foisted on it. And if people move on to other games? That's fine. Go have fun, there's more stuff to play now than any one person can ever hope to experience. Maybe they'll come back when the itch hits, maybe not. Maybe they'll only toy around with the character creator rather than engage with the game's systems. But you shouldn't force yourself to play a game just because you have nostalgia for it. It's okay to move on, or to dial back and do other things. Healthy, even!
  2. Trays 4 and 5 are already in the game, actually! Along with 6, 7, 8 and 9, in fact. Press the small + next to the word Recipes and you'll create a new one that you can move and change the shape of a bit.
  3. It's normal for minions to take damage, especially the first tier. You don't need to constantly heal them if you don't want to, though. Your summon and upgrade powers recharge very fast, so your demonlings are very easy to replace. The higher tier minions will be sturdier, but they're always replaceable. If you're still concerned about it, here are some questions: are you enhancing their damage and accuracy? This is the most important thing to enhance early on. Defeating enemies is a form of damage mitigation, and all that. Are you using personal attacks (which at lvl 6 Demons would be Corruption and/or Lash)? At very low levels, your own attacks do a significant chunk of your damage. This ebbs away as you get more minions, but it's never completely useless. Especially for Demons, since the whip attacks have a pretty strong secondary effect. Did you skip the upgrade power at lvl 6? You should never skip those, each upgrade adds a lot of power to every tier of minion. Thermal also has shields that reduce the damage your minions will take. These are just as important for keeping your minions on their feet as your heals. Properly slotted they'll provide a hefty damage reduction to most damage types. I wouldn't call them essential takes by level 6 or anything, but they're something to keep in mind as you level. There's other, more complex things to consider later, but I think I covered most of the basics? Oh, and finally...welcome to the game! I also joined back in the day for the Masterminds. They remain my favorite archetype to play and I hope my questions have helped you get started playing them. 😊
  4. Keeping your minions in Bodyguard mode and within Supremacy range will split any damage you receive across all of them. Effectively your minions become ablative armor, and using this MMs can tank a surprising amount of stuff by attacking first and soaking the alpha. Something that lets you grab a bunch of aggro is useful but only essential for a play style that focuses on that 'tankermind' aspect. As far as /FF goes, it's had some changes but is still a very Set It and Forget It set I think? I admittedly haven't touched it since Live because my old Bots/FF left me hearing that bubbling sound in my dreams...
