  1. Thank you!
  2. Ok, this is my first IO build so I have no idea what I'm doing tbh. I studied 2-3 other TW/BIO builds (for 6 hours 😬) and kind of combined what I thought made sense from each one, and I 100% know that mine isn't as optimal as theirs; I'm trying to build an Optimal build for my playstyle. First off, I don't want to lose any TW attacks and I want Teleport. I honestly don't want any Epic pools other than Body Mastery (because I don't want more attacks), I just want to focus on TW attacks for fun. I even took Vorpal Judgement because it fits my playstyle better than the superior choice, Ion. I hope that gives you a perspective. Additionally, right now, (non-IO'd) I have more Endurance than I know what to do with. I like that I don't have to baby sit the End Bar but it would be even better if it was as close to optimal as possible; if not, I'd prioritize not baby sitting the end bar over having more damage and having to watch the End Bar... I'm current 50+3 and close to capping Alpha and I just learned how End Game Enhancements work so I'm excited to go down that journey. So on the Blue Boxes, I think I'm good, I don't want to change any of that (unless it's changing the enhancements for something better that will result in better direct damage). The Red Boxes, is where I need help with everything: Because My Totals came out all funky: If You do go down this rabbit hole with me, I 100% appreciate your time and effort & thank you in advanced. 3. This is probably a dumb question: This is for Knives of Vengeance Lore pet, does the Guardian automatically cast that +30% Dmg and that additional 30% Dmg or do I have to click on something? Also, should I be running him in Defensive or Offensive? It says Aoe Click Team on Rallying Cry.

  5. I have a 50 +1 TW/Bio Scrapper and I returned to find that it's nerfed. I don't have any special enhancements on it so I'm not one of those that reached godlike status on TW. I've been back for about a month and haven't seen 1 single TW lol. Here's my thoughts on it though, because the official feedback thread in beta is closed. The two biggest problems for me is: 1. Reduced Melee Range with Whirlwind. From 15ft to 10ft. My favorite part about TW is the reach that is has over the other melee weapons. I honestly can't fully enjoy the other melee builds because it feels like I have to stand on enemies toes to hit them and that just throws me off. So without even reading the patch notes, I kept thinking "damn... did they nerf the reach?". It's more of a playstyle impact for me. 2. Skills got slower... Even if, only by 0.1 second, the slowest animation set/playstyle in the game got slower... And you 100% can feel it. Again, It's more of a playstyle impact for me. It definitely feels slower. I don't care if they'd nerfed damaged but to me, the most fun part about TW is the reach. & Slowing the swing time down even if only a little bit, is unfortunate and you can feel it's slower. Both of these nerfs affect the fun of the TW-playstyle. They should have just nerfed the damage imo. But definitely the craziest part is, I've been back for about a month and haven't seen 1 single TW lol... Here's the official patch notes: Powerset Revamp: Titan Weapons Titan Weapons was released less than a year before the game shut down, and never had the opportunity for much follow-up work. The set suffers from two problems. Firstly, the mechanics of the set make the set difficult to get started with. Secondly, when fully built, Titan Weapons massively overperforms compared to other melee set in almost every metric. We've gone ahead and removed the arbitrary bonus damage the set has (bringing it in line with the standard damage formulas) in order to reign in the maximum performance bar the set can hit, whilst also refining the Momentum mechanic and redraw animations in order to reduce the clunkiness of the set. Set Changes Removed arbitrary bonus damage from all attacks (roughly 8-10%) Now has the same redraw rules as Katana, and will only play an interruptible draw animation under the following conditions: Out of combat Out of range from the target Power still has not recharged Whilst Momentum is active, all Titan Weapons attacks will: Recharge 25% faster, with proportional damage and endurance cost reduction per the standard damage formulas Have an additional 25% endurance cost reduction Momentum is now granted even if the attack misses all targets Power Changes Titan Sweep Fast version cast time increased from 1s to 1.1s Follow Through Cast time increased from 1s to 1.1s No longer inflicts additional damage over time Confront / Taunt Cast time reduced from 1.96s to 1.67s Whirling Smash Radius lowered from 15ft to 10ft (however, it remains at 15ft for Tankers) No longer inflicts additional damage over time Arc of Destruction Recharge reduced from 20s to 16s Damage decreased accordingly (per the standard damage formulas) Fast version cast time shortened from 1.5s to 1.37s __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ They honestly should have stopped after doing this: Removed arbitrary bonus damage from all attacks (roughly 8-10%) But This is over-nerfing in the wrong direction because it affects fun-playability: Titan Sweep Fast version cast time increased from 1s to 1.1s Follow Through Cast time increased from 1s to 1.1s No longer inflicts additional damage over time Whirling Smash Radius lowered from 15ft to 10ft (however, it remains at 15ft for Tankers) No longer inflicts additional damage over time This along with the other green text^ = okay, you wanted to nerf it, that's a nerf. Arc of Destruction Recharge reduced from 20s to 16s Damage decreased accordingly (per the standard damage formulas) Fast version cast time shortened from 1.5s to 1.37s This is useless to scrappers (imo). It's as if, they're saying "we nerfed this class but we need to create a +buff to balance the nerfs" Confront / Taunt Cast time reduced from 1.96s to 1.67s __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ So conclusion. They definitely nerfed the hello out of the damage. It's very noticeable & I understand that I guess. But the Red Highlights should be reverted. I honestly would have taken this mentality "we nerfed this class but we need to create a +buff to balance the nerfs" and did this instead: Titan Sweep Fast version cast time Decreased from 1s to 0.9s Follow Through Cast time Decreased from 1s to 0.9s __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ It's hard to say if it's unplayable... but again, I've been back for about a month and haven't seen 1 single TW lol...
  6. Ohhhhhhhh I see now... That makes sense. Damn I feel stupid for not realizing that. I thought it was by design. haha....
  7. Why is that even there lol? Please remove this bubble or offer an additional option without it... Also, imo, we need bigger warmaces. 80% of the options are tiny clubs.
  8. Returning player here ^_^. 1. What's the Highest DPS Melee Build? 2. I know it was TW/BIO but then that got nerfed or something and now it's mace? Mace/What? Or is it something other than mace? 3. Also... I'm assuming that it's a scrapper not a brute? 4. And what makes it the highest DPS? Highest Single target or highest AoE or both and why? Thank you
  9. End Game Problems: 1. Money. The only viable way to make money for end game IOs is to create a fire farmer. So you basically have to shelf your toon and play another toon so that you can buy sets for the toon you shelfed. This is all wrong. There should be a way to match the income of a fire farmer on our actual toons. Like give us an influence boost, like the xp boost, available at level 50. Or something... 2. Custom non-fire AE maps. Custom non-fire AE maps are the hardest content in the game. You can build one of these, and on regular +0/ 8 players, a full group of incarnates will wipe on the first group of mobs. Here's the problem. Let's say you dumb your mobs down. Now your full group of incarnates can barely yet successfully kill the mobs on +0/8. The problem is, they get little to no exp/influence because it's not +4. You can not run these things on +4 unless you completely gimp the mobs. In which case, then you're right back to mindlessly aoe killing groups of mobs that hold little challenge. There needs to be a way, so that when we create an AE map, with mobs that actually have lots of powers and actually pose a serious threat (and a fun fight), that we get xp & $ as if it was +4, Even though, we're running on +0 (because again,+4 under these conditions are impossible). 3. IO sets and the Auction house. If your set is highly sought after, it's probably completely unavailable. I've been looking for the same IO for over a week... I'm 100% not against having a NPC vendor that sells every IO in the game. And I'm not talking about 100 merits for 1. That's extremely unreasonable. 4. The main problem with End Game for new players is that the moment you hit 50, you now have to Google for 8 hours to figure out how incarnates work, how IO Sets work, then you have to download a 3rd party software to measure IOs, now you're ready to go start a fire farmer so you can actually afford IO's... This isn't a rant. This is just my experience and opinion on the topic: End Game.
  10. I turned the Particle Physics Quality down from High/Very High to medium and turn the particle count below 20,000. I'll post again if it still occurs. Ty!
  11. Ok I've finally got a TW/Bio Scrapper to 50. Now, where's this "Godlike-omg-game-breaking" TW/Bio Scrapper build that everybody is talking about? Ty
  12. The one thing that CoH has always lacked is PvE that is something other than AoE killing groups of mobs. It needs more diverse PvE scenariors. Also the Homecoming Team rocks! This is the best this game has ever been. Thank you!
  13. I've never seen this before and I just had 2 crashes in less than 30 minutes.
  14. The other day I found myself in a mission on an oil rig, the inside was big and open and in the middle of the mission an Arch Villain appeared, gave us a good fight then teleported away, and then we fpund ourselves outside on top of an oil rig, in the middle of the ocean, where there's helicopters, and dudes in mini planes flying around shooting at us, and it ended with fighting the Arch Villain followed by an even tougher, huge blue robot. This was hands down the funnest mission I've done. & I hate the cubicles missions... There's obviously a difference between OG content and evolved content. The newer stuff is better. If it was up to me, every mission would have an Arch Villain and 50-70% of the missions would be outside or have an outside area. Is there a way to get the fun missions that end with AV fights or is it random? And is there also a way to avoid the mold that is cubicles, caves, sewers, warehouse? There's really good maps in this game but they seem to be buried under the original content stuff.
  15. For Archery / Tactical Arrow, How do you Min/Max this? I know there's a lot of powers in this that I absolutely do not use like stunning shot and I basically only use the toggles from Tactical Arrow which leaves me with a lot of extra power selections. But even then, Tactics & Assault, hover & fly, hasten... And that's really it. So my question is, how do I maximize dps for end game? I don't even know if I need defense tbh because with hover + positioning, I rarely ever get attacked. I even threw +range on fist full of arrows so that it's 80ft range with the rest of my attacks, so I'm almost always at 80ft. Everytime my group wipes I live lol. How are you slotting your attacks for Max DPS? What combat relevant power pools did you choose? What powers do you use/not use in the archery/TA field? What enhancements do you use per power? How do you have snipe slotted? Nearing end game I basically love this toon and don't want to reroll so my goal is to Max DPS. Again, I don't really get hit so idk how relevant defense is? I'm also a noob so idk. Thanks, sorry for bad grammar, I'm on my phone.
  16. My son is 10 so here goes: 1st off, he's been gaming mmorpgs since he was 5. I let him play The Sims 3, he's really good at Age of Empires, he's bet most story lines in Skyrim and recently he beat GTA5. Etc. Etc. Etc. I even punished him once by making him beat Star Wars the Old Republic MMO. Patenting advice, take it or leave it: You cannot control nor filter what your children will inevitably discover. They will learn about sex from other kids on the school bus. It will learn about drugs from others kids in school. They will learn every bad word in the world. You cannot stop this, nor should you. You cannot raise your child in a bubble. This is the age of information, at the touch of anyone's hands they can discover anything via the Internet. Parents who put a leash on their children in this regard, raise stupider children. Despite all popular opinions about how to parent, the best thing that you can do is be your child's friend. That way when he does cross these Bridges of what's drugs, of what's a slut, of what is sex, Etc. Then you can be there to explain it in a way that you want to explain it. As opposed to a way that another kid his age interprets it and then explains it to your kid. So rather shelter him, just go down that lane with him and answer his questions and encouraged his questions and when you answer his questions be honest and elaborate and make him feel comfortable so that he'll ask more questions in the future. Children who grow up with computers are smarter than other kids. They have the world's largest library at the tip of their fingers. Socrates and Aristotle would shit themselves if they had that opportunity. My son play City Heroes with me and every time we see a Super Chick running around in a thong he makes a fart sound lol. And then I'm like yeah that's a dude in real life how funny is that. And we laugh. When he played Grand Theft Auto V he learned very quickly that you cannot break the law because the police will get you. When he played Skyrim you learn the same thing. We watch movies together all the time. He loves rock and roll and he loves metal and he knows that a lot of those people died from drugs. So instead of him learning that some Rockstar was cool and died on drugs And thinks that is cool because the dude was a rockstar and got all this information from school or wherever. Instead he gets that information from me. Like Chester from Linkin Park I told my son he died because he killed himself because he did a lot of drugs and that he's a fucking idiot. And now all six of his kids don't have a father. And I say this all the time, yeah X Rockstar was on drugs because he's a fucking idiot and now he's dead, and now his kids don't have a father oh, and he had all that money and all that success and he shitted away for drugs what a fucking moron. So by doing this you guide them into the truth instead of them getting it or instead of them getting an obscured opinion of it from some retard at school. Back to gaming. Same thing here, play games with your kid. Let your kid play any game he wants, I highly encourage you to play with him, that way when sensitive subjects do come up and you can give a solid opinion on it and build his moral Foundation from that. My son make Straight A's, he doesn't use cuss words, he's generally the most mature kid in his class, and he's good at a lot of things like guitar drums computer games, etc. The only real way that we shelter him is from sexual content. If we're watching a movie or TV show and there's a sex scene then we make it funny we're like oh no close your eyes gross. But in 5th grade he's going to have sex ed and when that happens we're not going to say that anymore. Right now his computer is in the living room where my computer is so he's in a environment where he can't look up shit without feeling uncomfortable. But after 5th grade sex ed happens oh, he's going to get a tablet and nature will occur. So yeah dude don't be that guy, that dying breed of human failure, that shelters their children and as a result their kids grow up fucked up. People who shelter their daughters are raising whores. And people who shelter their sons raising drug addicts. That doesn't mean encourage your daughters to be whores nor does it mean to encourage your children to do drugs. What it means is open that door for them through conversations about what occurs in video games or movies or on YouTube or wherever, the news, open that door and talk about it with them so that you can build that Foundation of what whatever is occurring truly is. Teenagers and adults don't like taking advice from authoritative figures. Generally the hate Authority so much that they'll do the exact opposite. Which is why at this age of 9 to 12 is so important to build morals around these sensitive subjects so that when they do Bloom, they bloom off of the base of your foundation. 9 to 12 is the age where they Now understand things but they haven't rebelled against authoritative of advice yet. That is the age to mold their morals. Not by force but by opinion and by philosophical conversations, using metaphors that they can understand, and the best way to come up with these metaphors is by using examples from things that you both do together like playing video games or watching TV shows. Doing these things together creates a friendship Bond. When they do Sprout into teenagers oh, they are not going to listen to their parents, but they will listen to their friends. They will listen to you if you force your opinion down their throat but then they're going to fucking hate you and you're going to miss out on ten good years of their life because you're an asshole who chose the whip instead of being their friend. So guide him through the door, be honest, answer all the questions, and make things fun and funny, because you've got three years to do it. You got 3 years to Guide that vine to grow straight before the natural occurrences of puberty occur and that stake is removed and the little robot minded human becomes a self thinking entity. Once that occurs, the only people they're going to listen to are their friends. So start building that friendship Bond now and hope it sticks. I also want to emphasize on the Sims 3 and that being one of the greatest games that a kid could play because it teaches them about life and responsibility and obligation. Minecraft is absolutely amazing because it's one huge geometry game. If your kid plays that game he starts building asymmetrical buildings then call him out on it and be like dude that looks like crap it's asymmetrical. Then Google the White House or something to be like see see how they built this this is symmetrical that's why it looks awesome. Minecraft is excellent for kids. Age of Empires also extremely excellent. 100% micro and macro economics. Games like City of Heroes are just fun games. Most people are like oh my kids don't read books. I'm like did you even read that power do you even know what you're doing? If he's like where do I go (which he's not he's passed that stage), I'm like dude look at your map. He's on a quest and he's like what do I do, (again past that stage), Im like did you even read the quest? There's tons of reading these games and every time your kids starts a new game he's building an aptitude to learning new things which is entirely the design of the University system. It just creates a higher aptitude for learning. The end
  17. So I rolled a TW/BIO Scrapper and I love it! Now I want to maximize it's potential! For TW: 1. How do you guys slot the attacks? -x3 recharge reduction, x2 Accuracy, x2 Damage is what I've been doing... 2. Do you use all of the attacks or skip one? 3. Do you 6 slot all of the attacks? 4. What's your opener and your attack rotation? 5. Any cool tricks or tips? Something you've learned from Pure experience? 6. What is something I should avoid like bad habits or something? ______ Bio: 1. What powers are relevant on this? -Of those Powers, how many slots did you put and what did you put into the slots? I'm pretty lost on how to maximize usefulness on Bio. 2. For toggles, do you always run your toggles or are they situational? 3. Any general advice around this one? 4. Anything to avoid around this one? _____ Other powers: 1. How many slots do you put into Health & Stamina? 2. Combat jumping makes sense right? But how many slots? 3. Speed>Haste seems like a berserk for this archetype, how do you slot that? 4. Leadership = yay or nay & if yay, how many slots? I feel like leadership is endurance Hog I'm not super keen on this. 5. Any others that I missed? ((Please keep acronyms to a minimum when answering this makes it tough to to understand what you are saying lol)). Thanks!
  18. Can you elaborate on this please?
  19. Hi, My Son and I will be duoing and I'm going to try to build a group every time that we play. He's going to play a Tanker and I think I want to play a scrapper. Here's my questions: 1. Titan Weapons look cool but the animations look extremely slow. Also after watching videos and reading around, it seems like the animations are lagged too. Are the animations so slow that it's not enjoyable? 2. If I go Scrapper + Titan Weapons, what's the best secondary? I started think Reflexes but then started reading that Lighting or Bio is better. If they do have slow animations and it's all about one hit power, then I think Bio does make the most sense right? 3. I like the idea of Scrapper Staff too. I like the idea of a Long/Large weapon and moving around fast and attacking fast. Is staff fast? Also best Secondary for Scrapper staff? 4. What is the fastest non-hand-to-hand scrapper weapon? 5. If a Scrapper, Brute, and Tanker all pick Titan Weapon, Does the Scrapper do more damage b/c it's a scrapper? Meaning Scrapper>Brute>Tanker as far as dps goes? Thanks
  20. Haha yes! I knew there was a bible somewhere lol! tyvm!!!
  21. Here's what I'm trying to do: I want to be the most optimal Force Field Support possible. I don't want to be a main healer but I do what to be an extremely great support asset so that everybody on the team is more powerful per say. How do I build that? Also, is Origin relevant in this? I'm overwhelmed by choices and I dont want to have to reroll lol. tytyty
  22. Hi, I played this back in the day and recently to my surprise something popped up in my Google news feed saying that there was a new City of Heroes server, so heck yeah. It's been a while and I'm sure that once I start playing things will come back to me but for right now I have a few questions if you don't mind. 1. What is the most powerful class? Like full-on Sith Lord hands down unlimited power? 2. I don't remember what the bubble class is called, but are these sought-after for groups? 3. What server has the most players on it? 4. What server has the fastest experience gain? 5. Are there heroes and villains or just Heroes? I never played with villains I only ever played City of Heroes. 6. Is PVP very popular or do most people PVE? 7. Is this free? Or are there any pay-to-play or pay-to-win or pay for cosmetics or any of that stuff? 8. Is it easy to find a group? 9. Is there anything else that you think I should know before I start? Thank you
