  1. Ok thank you. That's a bit... odd. Do you happen to know of the reason for that? It does seem a bit illogical to proc healing stuff like +res and so on, on the caster as a healer.
  2. Afternoon everyone, I am wondering how to slow my chain healing power on my mastermind (Necromancy / Electrical affinity). I was hoping that If I slotted a proc healing enhancement in my rejuvenating circuit, the procs would happen on one or more targets healed, but after I checked in the help chat in game, someone told me she was pretty sure it would proc on the caster. Could someone confirm this, and explain what the logic is on that one? I mean, for healers specifically, you usually want things to happen to your targets, and not to yourself (unless you're healing yourself of course.) So I wanted to check here before spending a couple of millions on enhancements that would bring no benefit to my healing abilities.
  3. After checking to make sure, those two locations do not have Circle of Thorns.
  4. Quite right, finally someone that understood. The power's damage, simply is not worth the time it takes to position a few mobs so they'll get hit as well. while I will totally agree that in groups with, well, large group of mobs, it's fine as it is, simply because of the amount of mobs trying to pile on each others to hit you, making it so you don't even have to aim, just pick a mob at random and launch. In solo, that power is rendered worthless by the time it takes to position yourself, hoping that in the meantime the 2 or 3 mobs on your ass haven't yet moved. As stated by someone above, it is a low level power, and as such, having to take 4 to 5 seconds to get into a good position to use it, as a melee, simply makes no sense. I've basically stopped using it in solo, and reverted to using other powers instead. Those powers unfortunately, come much later in the game. But once again, I will absolutely concur that it is fine as it is when used against very large groups, due to the fact they're literally walking/flying over each others to hit you, making it so you can hit a fair amount of them easily that way. Problem being, as it is a low level power, that never happens in low and even mid levels as you solo.
  5. Oh well. I was holding to a shimmer of hope 🙂
  6. While trying to make an exotic build with an Electric tank, I thought I'd try the D-sync enhancements, since they appeared in the market from L1 upward. After chatting with a couple of people ingame, it turns out those seem to only drop from a L35+ taskforce. This would imply the lower level items, can not exist, yet, they are listed on the AH. Can someone confirm that either: -Those items should not be in the market place. -How do I loot/buy them if the above is incorrect?
  7. Did you even look at the picture...? I stated multiple times, that it is possible to hit more than one mob with it, however, and I think you are missing the entire point here, the amount of time it takes, is simply rendering the power absolutely useless. Power Type:Click Target Type:Enemies Power Range:7.00 ft. Effect Area:Cone -- 7.00 ft. radius 50.00 degree arc (10 targets max) Attack Types:AoE defense, energy defense The power was clearly intended to be a mass attack of up to 10 target, which is absolutely impossible with such a narrow field of action and range. Add to that the following: it is on a tank, you're not meant to be trying to place the mobs precisely. Moving the mobs, is the controller's job, well some controller's anyway 🙂 If you end up spending 5 or 6 seconds trying to align 3 or 4 mobs so you can get one shot, you're better off using 3 other powers in the meantime. Hence, the power become absolutely useless. The tank's job is to aggro the mobs, and keep them around him. Placement and orientation on that class, should be kept to a minimum, simply because it makes no sense for that class and its function. Once again: Cone... powers... makes... no.....sense....on melee. Cone powers, needs range to be of any use. That power should either become a single target power, with spreading capabilities to nearby hostiles, or a much wider arc/AOE power.
  8. I'm afraid, It is not plenty. Grab some mobs around you, the side mobs are at a 90 degrees angle from you. 70 degrees, is only 35 on each side of the mob you're attacking, keeping in mind that being a cone, the closer they are, the wider the angle needs to be to hit them. I've just checked, and my power still says 50 degrees, despite gauntlet being on, but even if it is, it would not be enough regardless. Sure, theme is fine, but the power, is virtually useless. It's a game about super heroes, it's not meant to be realistic 🙂 Hell, if that's all it takes, rename the power arc lightening or whatever. ^_^ Please excuse the poor quality of the example, but I've only got paint on this machine, but here's roughly what the hit area for 7ft with a 70 degree angle is like in the game: I'm hoping that once it's more visual, the issue would be more obvious. Remember that 70 degrees, only means 35 on each side of the targeted mob, minus the actual hit box of the mob with its collision area as well, with only 2 meters at the back (also with the mob's space and its collision space) , it really is not a lot I'm afraid 😞 I'm not even sure a 90 degree angle would make a big difference. It probably would add 2 mobs or so if they're at the back, maybe. Now, consider the power's restriction '10 mobs max', to me it is clear it was thought of as an actual AOE kind of power, because there's simply no way you could get 10 mobs in such a small area, 4 at most if they literally walk/fly on each other. I'll repeat it once more, cone powers, are simply not fit for melee attacks, it makes no sense whatsoever. Cones, needs both angle and a reasonable distance to be of any use, otherwise, you're literally farting in the air.
  9. Oh sure, having the player needing to manage their position is fine with me. What bugs me here, is that the whole cone design for melee is entirely pointless and bordering on being useless. A cone like this, with the appropriate range of course, for a ranged class, would be absolutely fine, since the cone would cover several enemies. But in a melee situation with such a short range and arc, meh... 🙂
  10. Yeah, I'm an idiot. It's showing up as 1/3. What confused me there, is that on my main, it would not increase the counter from 1/3 to 2/3, and there, of course, is no notification since there's no badge yet. I had it to 1 on my main because I did the mission, but I had to do the mission a second time to get it to 2/3, as it would not increase in city hall for some reason. So it looks like it will not increase if you get the first from the mission, forcing you to redo the mission a second time.
  11. Just to be clear, this is on a tank. I'm not sure the powers are the same from one class to the next even if they've got the same name. The only way I've managed to get it to hit more than one mob with some consistency, is to target a mob, then put myself in front of another, at a slight angle from my target. This way, most mobs will stack behind it but slightly to their side, and hence be within 7ft , and hence, I can hit 2. If it can not be put as a melee AOE, then maybe an AOE launched from the target? But as it stands, while the power has a really nice damage output for a tank, the multiple enemies cone hit, is really not happening unless you really work for it. Considering the time it takes to put yourself in the right spot for it to hit two mobs, you might as well forget the cone, and hit the 2nd target with another attack instead... I've replicated the behavior with "sans of mu", which is the exact same type, 7ft cone melee. For people using REAL distance measurement units, it's about 2 meters. Assuming a 50 degrees angle, that's 25 degrees each side from the middle of your face, over a 2 meters distance. Max target, 10? If you manage to stick 10 targets in a 2 meters space, well done you. Honestly, I think the designer of that power, really did not think about how short 2 meters is. Best you could do, would be three, since 4 would have the cone slipping between the first two. Increasing the arc to 90 degrees, would probably cover 5 targets or so, maybe, if they slot themselves in the idea positions, which will only happen if you're surrounded like hell by mobs, and they have to pile up to have a chance at hitting you. I honestly think all the melee cone 7ft attacks, should be converted to 180 degrees front arc attacks, if not a full 360, so it is actually useful in solo when mobs count is much lower. Most if not all, seem to have restrictions of 10 targets. Even with a 180 arc, 10 would be within the best case scenario anyway. So far, 7 mobs are pretty much surrounding you already, over that, they seem to have to move non stop just to be able to get a hit due to the hit collision on you and other mobs. 7tf with two mobs, means that most of the time, they'll be in a beehive formation. If they stand behind each other, the 2nd mob is already between 7 and 8 ft, not to mention the constant movement so they can get back into their own hit range. Power Type:Click Target Type:Enemies Power Range:7.00 ft. Effect Area:Cone -- 7.00 ft. radius 50.00 degree arc (10 targets max) Attack Types:AoE defense, energy defense Increasing the range would not help much either, as you'll still be missing the side mobs in front of you, hence, would only help when you're surrounded by mobs. But a 7ft "cone", simply makes no sense. In the case of soloing, or hunting on open maps, most mob groups would be two to three. In that case, you'll usually end up with one mob in front, one on each side, or one on a side and one behind you. For those powers to have any use in those cases, they'll need to go 180 at the very least. If not, they might as well be dropped to single enemies, and get their cost and CD turned down, otherwise I recon most people would not even bother using them.
  12. It is an exploration badge though. Are you sure there are requirements? It seems a bit... awkward and not user friendly, as it would appear as a bug more than anything else. The three parts, I can understand. But then, there's 4 parts? 3 for the missions, then the atlas city hall visit? It makes... no sense?
  13. No. I tested it in purpose without doing it. The badge marker thingy is on the floor, but does not trigger. Either it should not be there, or should activate.
  14. 50 degrees, will not cover the side mobs most of the time. Since it's a cone, even at a 50 degrees angle, because they're so far appart, the cone will barely ever touch the side mobs. They really should make it, at LEAST, a 180degrees power, but considering it's for a tank that'll be surrounded all the time, a 360 would make a lot more sense in my opinion. Cones only makes sense for mid range powers, otherwise, your cone simply does not have the spread to tag many enemies.
  15. It's not about parts. The badge in city hall does not trigger.
  16. I'm currently trying to make an exotic electric tank build, and while rerolling, I picked the electric melee as well. The power Jaccob's ladder, is bordering on being a single enemy power. This is due, I think, to the tiny distance of the power, 7ft, and the way mobs will be positioned and their distance calculated it seems. One mob in front of you, is already at 5ft. I've just tried many times, and because of this, the mobs right next to the one you're targeting, will seemingly never get hit. Which means, the cone, will virtually always, only hit a single mob. This means it seems to be an absolute miracle if the cone hits a 2nd mob. So far, I have not hit 3 mobs with it, regardless of how I tried positioning myself. This does seem to be a problem with melee cones. I would suggest increasing the range to 10ft, as this seems to be where a 2nd line of mobs would be in a group. Alternatively, turn them into melee AOEs (circle of 5ft around your toon), at least you'll be hitting more than one mob with it that way 🙂
  17. After encountering an issue with my main to get the badge marked at 2/3, I've just checked with my new low level tank. When going into the hero1 memorial within the city hall in Atlas, the badge is not being attributed.
  18. The mission to rescue Lisa Colbert has a strange bug in it. After rescuing her, the objective becomes to lead her to the ledgers. The waypoint shown, is on her floor (in the room next to the elevators), but does nothing. I went up to the next floor, and there WAS a waypoint there, which was the correct one. Upon coming back to her floor to pick her up, the wp disappeared, and was on the elevators instead. Once I was near it, she remained at the bottom of the stairs, I clicked on the trash, there was no text (just a blank line in the chat window.)
  19. This is what happens when two of you 5 levels above me gang me up! I'll trash the place! That's what! The combat... did go on... for... a while... a fairly long while. I thought the amount of shit thrown at them, was worthy of a screenie :)
  20. One thing I found, eventhough I am using a 2080TI on a desktop, I found the GPU to be under massive usage at all time (90%+). It seems to come from the occlusion and and ambiant occlusion settings. I've added COH to the NVidia profile, and it turns out occlusion is not supported by the current drivers for this game. Turning it off in game lowers the usage to around 60% or with everything else maxed out, and the game now feels a lot smoother since the GPU has some breathing room. I am playing in 4K as well, so a higher usage is pretty normal in my case. I suspect just turning this off on laptops and discrete/integrated cards might help.
  21. Yes, I've been pondering about that, the mix and match of sets. But for my controller, so far, it seems to make more sence to go full sets, as the 4/5/6 bonuses are usually pretty useful be it resistance or defense.
  22. I've been crafting pretty much all my enhancements. The recipes are a lot cheaper considering I've only used merit for the missing expansive rare items here and there 🙂 If you're crafting them, the attuned extra step is just a whole lot cheaper. I can also confirm that the sets are active at lower levels using attuned sets. I'm not sure all of them are, but it certainly is already a whole lot more easier than it was previously. I'll redo some much lower content later on to confirm the set's bonuses presence, but if they attune to your level, unless the actual slots gets ignored when going lower, there's no reason the sets bonuses would not be working, even if only partially. I've only been doing arc stuff from Ouro for now, most being in the +10 region, I think it's fine. For the under 10, the enmies are so easy, it makes no nevermind 😄
  23. That's odd. So far I only managed to get 1 attuned one. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I'm not seeing the attuned versions on the auction house very often, as in, in the list of choices when searching for something. *edit*: After the previous post, I searched, and could not find the recipes for it. Since I mostly buy recipes, and only bought one on the market, that's why. Should anyone be like me, and unaware of how it actually is crafted, here's the video: There's a merit item allowing you to convert them to attuned... *sigh* ... At least, I've learned something new today 😄
  24. I've checked the wiki (didn't know there was one which was up to date! 🙂 ), and even though it says the sets are statistically better, I'm not certain they're better than SOs, since you can multi slot SOs up to 3 times before diminishing returns. I mean, the sets can provide something along the same, but some times, they're not going to be optimal on some powers it seems. Since the inventions are a lot harder to keep up with level wise, and the attuned ones being even more difficult to obtain, I'm not certain sets are "better", as SOs would be a lot easier to maintain until much higher levels. Thing is, since I've invested everything in the sets I got now, I simply don't have the cash to try and roll back to SOs to check. I recon the enhancements could use some TLC on how they work, as right now, going onto lower levels is quite penalizing for someone who supposedly should have much better stats when being scaled down. It nearly feels like a punition 😄
  25. Well, that sucks 😞 I'm only in the mid 30's, and was in the mid 20's when I started catching up on all the missed content from Ouro (don't ask me how the hell I managed to miss this much, it's beyond my understanding), I focused on my sets to try and get more efficient in solo play. But the loss is absolutely massive against using SO's when going down just a couple of levels. I assumed the slots were in used and scaled back, since taking an Ouro mission gives the option to disable the enhancements, but I guess there's no point in that option since most will be disabled pretty quickly, or will be a lot less efficient without the set bonuses vs SOs. 😞 But oh well, at least it's not a bug, just a bad design choice from the original makers 🙂
