  1. I, too, rolled an Ice Armor Scrapper, but with Psionic Melee as the main. Meet Freezing Brain, everyone! He's officially level 30 as of today, having gotten there through a surprising variety of means: street sweeping, a Nemesis invasion, DFB, Posi 1 and Posi 2, and some assorted missions.
The combo's interesting; I've never really played around with either set (I do have an Ice Armor Stalker, but she's level 2); I wasn't expecting Psionic Melee to be so single target heavy, nyeh. The character's definitely a bit heavy on the endurance drain, but Ice Armor's own [Energy Absorption] helps, and I'll be grabbing be grabbing Psionic Mastery and [Harmonic Mind] later.
All in all, he's an interesting character to play. Thanks for putting this together!!

Interesting -- thank you for checking. Testing again at 24 with all tips clear, still nothing on the same character I tested with before. Saw several other people in Everlasting's global channels confirm the bug yesterday too. I'm convinced something is happening but no idea of the cause.

ETA: It looks like it works normally once at least one badge is received -- the exploration tips are flowing freely now. Did not see that behavior for other zones. @Frostmoon -- did you test this on a character that already had a Steel Canyon badge?

Nope. My character's only Exploration badges are both from Atlas (Freedom and Top Dog, if it matters).

  3. I'm working my way through Doc Buzzsaw's mission arcs right now, and I ran into something I don't think I've ever seen before. In the mission "Steal robotic tech for Doc Buzzsaw", part of the Heavy Metal Doctoring arc, Archon Adlai has for some reason spawned at level 30 - despite everyone else in the mission being either level 26 or 27. I'm running it at +0/x0, and I can't see anything online indicating that Adlai has either a set level adjustment or a set level. This wasn't just a visual glitch, either: while I was able to defeat him (yay Endurance drain!!!), he definitely seemed much harder than bosses of my level - I missed more often, he hit for higher damage, etc.

This image shows off the level of the boss and the fact that the minion that spawned with him is white to me (i.e. level 26). CoH-Lvl30bosslvl26mission.thumb.JPG.f254942fcb817b964b6d6bbdd0db93b0.JPG

EDIT: Sooo, "Recover the 3 Tank Freaks", the next mission in the arc, just so happens to have a level 30 ally. Again, this is a +0/x0 mission, where everything else was of the appropriate level.

This image shows off the random level 30 ally. The ally beside him is level 26.

I can't even find it in the costume options...where is it located?

On a female character, the sybil dress can be found under Sybil Tight or Sybil With Skin, which are options in the Upper Body menu. They don't show up if you have some sort of back detail; similarly, selecting the sybil options locks out having a cape, backpack, or wings.

So, you can't have that sybil piece just as an option to add the loin cloth front and cloth on the back? It has to the entire set? That is super lame and disappointing. You also have to have that belt as part of it too? Not sure I'll be using it and it was the only thing I was really looking forward to. Ah well.

I believe the reasoning here is that the top and bottoms textures don't quite work at the middle - this is also why only the sybil-specific belt is available. I might be wrong here, though.

I'd think the main reason not to is having badge-hunting characters who aren't Khelds excluded because they can't reach those contacts. But given we have other stuff that tracks (history plaques, for instance,) that might be worked around for those playing the arcs through. (Think I'd want the name changed for if you're a Kheld or not, though.)

Ahh, I didn't even think about that. That definitely explains why the badges don't exist.

  6. Alright, so I recently got through the entirety of Shadowstar's arc, and was kind of surprised to see that it comes with no badge. To anyone not in the know, Shadowstar is the Warshade-specific contact who has a giant, overarching set of missions; the first set unlocks at level 1, and the last set unlocks at level 45, so it's huge. I believe Sunstorm, the Peacebringer equivalent, acts the same way, too, and I believe he also lacks a badge. Getting a badge for completing the whole set isn't something all that important, just a bit surprising with how long these arcs are.

Just realizing I never saw this reply and Its got me scratching my head. No offense but why would missing Eclipse on one of the enemies matter? Ignoring for a moment that you shouldn't have much trouble getting it to a 95% hit chance most of the time, if you've slotted it for even basic resistance you should be hitting your resist caps at somewhere between 4 and 5 targets.

I realize there are a ton of ways to play WS but I was making my comment under the assumption that the reason you'd want to guarantee the mobs are within your Eclipse range is because it lets you leap up to your resist caps in all forms. So if you yank in say 6-8 mobs, you'd need to miss more then 1/2 of them for it to be a serious issue, assuming you can get the eclipse off before the alpha strike, which admittedly i haven't tested but given the slow reactions mobs often have i didn't think it a likely issue.

I pretty quickly lost half my health by missing a few on my Eclipse, so...yeah. Admittedly, my girl is definitely not capping out resistances; I have yet to fully slot her with everything I want, and I've only just started getting the Incarnate powers on her. Anyways, it's not like Fold Space is a *bad* power as a (human) Warshade; it's just one I'll have to seriously think about replacing through a respec.

Wouldn't it allow you to guarantee an eclipse into double mire when grousp are spread out? namely when playing with others?

When playing with others, it's not that bad a move, but soloing would not be wise. It's too likely that I'll miss one of the enemies with my Eclipse and get taken out; heck, even in a team, that's still too much of a possibility.

  9. Yeah, I just tested out Fold Space on my (fairly squishy in human form) Warshade and...it's not that useful. Not for her. It's a power that synergizes best with the big ol' tanky/aggro types, or people with tons of PBAoEs, and while Warshades do have a few of the latter (Mire and Eclipse), I still don't really think it's that great for them? If it gets added to the Dwarf form, than I'll love it forever, but as a regular power in the human Warshade set, I really don't like it.

  10. I haven't tested it out yet, but I'm not sure if I like the changes to Shadow Slip in particular. I know my Warshade's human form is honestly pretty fragile, and so having a "teleport tons of enemies to you power" feels...weird. It definitely will synergize well with Quasar, Sunless Mire, and Orbiting Death, but it's going to be a verrrrry risky move and not necessarily the most useful. I do like the suggestion to give it to the Dwarf form.
