All powers come with choices. Something to consider when thinking about changing a power is 'how many people take it now' and 'how many would take it with the change'? Right now there are very few reasons NOT to take it, which means it's WAI. If the Repel were changed to Knockback then EVERYONE would take it making it too powerful.

Seriously, if I took a power called "Hurricane" and it didn't knock people around I would be very disappointed.

    IMO:

No to voiced lines in this game, ever.

Double no to amateur voice acting.  Even professional voice acting can be wildly uneven in quality, and that's with a consistent recording setup, etc etc.

Agree.  It's one of the nice things this game never had.

I'd even go as far as to say it's nice that it doesn't have audio chat for similar reasons.  Nothing to screw with my immersion.

  3. So when this game came out multiple monitors wasn't very common and even in 2012 when it shutdown I only had 1 monitor.  Fast forward to 2019...I have 4 monitors and my mouse now makes its way onto the other monitors while I'm in heavy battle and if I have to click an ability or click a new target I can't get to either and of course the game de-focuses if you click with any of the buttons.

The cursor really only needs to be locked to the screen bounds when it's hidden.

Sorry if this has been brought up already, but it's been bugging me since I start playing again back in August.  The addition of the borderless full screen window mode option prompted me to post this.

  4. - Definitely not having to recreate characters again.  Which I would assume would be the case being that this would all carry on as is in the event of being legitimized.

    - I would have no issues paying a subscription fee again, if it meant that new content would be created, story lines completed and incomplete features were finished.  Otherwise I have no problem with the donation model.  If this was to occur I'd like to see a multi-account plan since my wife and two kids play as well.

    - Absolutely no micro-transactions for Pay-2-Win nonsense.

    - A way to export my character data if I want to do so.

    - Potentially provide a way for players to look up their old characters from the old live data.  It could be a website where one could search using names, servers, ATs, etc. to try and find their characters.  From one character you could see the other characters made by the same person.  I had over 30 characters on Infinity and cannot remember all of them.  Setup in a way to hid all personally identifying information.

Aside from that I am happy with the servers as they currently are.

Impossible due to the way bases are coded. The salvage racks in bases aren't linked to a db table somewhere, they are actually part of the map, so when you add stuff to them you aren't just inserting a line in the db that something else  can look into, you are literally editing the map data file. Your suggestion would require rewriting the invention table code, and would also mean every time an invention table was accessed a base map would need to be loaded. And the base code is very resource intensive so that would put a hard strain on the server.

Sounds like the code needs to be rewritten then.  It's not our fault the original devs cut some corners all those years ago.  If I had the time to do it I would, but sadly, I don't.

Another thing.  The idea was only for invention tables inside bases, so it's quite possible something could be done to work with the code as it is for now.  Who knows.

I have (left/right) clicked on the character screen while it's loading and it does say I'm being queued. So I think it's a server issue. I'm sure the good peeps and GMs are aware of this.

I am having this issue.  Consistently.  I'm running Windows 7 Pro.  4 computers actually.  If I click the back button it asks if I'm sure I want to lose my place in the queue.  On my work Macbook Pro it did not do this.  Not sure why the client OS would be causing this at all though.  I ran this under WinXP back in the day all the way to the end and never had this problem.

Heroside, Mr. Robot of infinity server computing in! Villainside, Destroyer of Planets, some may recall my robot performances at holiday event areas frequently! It's good to be back!  ;D

Oh man, we played together quite a few times hero side.

Hi! So now that all logging has been disabled... If someone reports an error or cheating or exploiting how are the devs supposed to find it in the logs? Shouldn't for example error logging be kept? Or cmds logging? Also if someone is verbally abused or harassed and they were so upset they forgot to take a screenshot... How are GMs supposed to handle it without chat logs? - I'm not criticizing, I'm honestly curious and worried about how such issues will be handled.

I'm curious about this too.  This data is necessary for running an efficient service.  If players are trying to hack the game you have to know what IP they are coming from...kind of the reason that type of data is tracked to begin with.

We do have a PayPal Debit card yeah, but even that was locked down during the time that this thread was made. It was simply because we were a new business (the LLC had just been formed) with a new account trying to throw lots of money at a French company (OVH), which set off all manner of alarms which even their customer service reps could not manually override and "had to let run it's course and checks".

All is well now though 🙂

Ahh gotcha...glad everything is good to go now.  :)

Fortunately we're now able to withdraw funds to a bank account to pay the first few bills that way; nothing on the front of being able to pay using PayPal directly still though.

Have you signed up for a PayPal business debit card?  You can use that to pay bills instead of withdrawing it to a bank account first.  That may help prevent issues in the future.
