Ice armor is admittedly ugly, but it is, as @Colder said, vastly underrated. Mostly because some old farts remember when it really sucked, back in... umm...I2. Some people just cannot cope with change.

It has a psi hole, yes (energy hole exists only if you don't know how to build) but as long as you remain in melee, chilling embrace STILL slows the crap and reduces the damage from incoming sources. Most people who hate ice do so because of either it's graphics or because they cannot figure out how to keep stuff in melee range. My Ice/fire tanker is just peachy as MT in Itrials, and my fire/ice brute is a farmer second only to rad/fire while still being more than capable of dominating in standard content.

    Rules to remember-
you need Hoarfrost on auto. It is not a heal, it is a gigantic friggin 850 boost to your HP

Slot power transfer: chance to heal into energy absorption. healing back half your HP every 20 seconds is actually a pretty huge deal. I wonder if they designed that set specifically for ice armor.

chilling embrace is awesome. It has HUGE taunt (Ice tankers/brutes get all the aggro. all of it) it offers -15% damage, and -32% recharge to all enemies in it's radius, and it sticks for around 15 seconds. Two slot it with pacing of the turtle's proc.

Amd, lastly, Hibernate does NOT suck. It's a fantastic set mule, can be set to have a recharge of less than 30 seconds, has a QUARTER second animation, and can drag you back to 100% in only seconds. It has no crash, and the only downside is that you lose aggro while it's turned on... and believe me, when you turn it off, that aggro is still there, they just couldn't do anything about it while you are glaciated. Compared to a lot of Tier 9 defense set powers it is a dream, and it's how you do master solo +4/x8 TF's without insp.

Both of these builds are on my 'main' Frostweaver.
I also have a third build, a 'farmer' build, but the build is absolutely useless outside of the frozen farm custom map.

I also have an ice/fire tanker version of her on another server Where she has a farmer build (she duos with a kinetic), a general content build, and a 'classic' build which is just SO's and Hami-os. Let me know if you want to see the builds.

I would love to take a look at the farm builds you have.

Also curious to know whether or not it would do well enough in a fire farm as well? Of course I'd do farms more geared specifically towards the build, however I was curious for group runs!

  2. Hello all,

I'm currently working on a build at the moment and I was curious to know if there are any powers that could be skipped with TW?

Is everything absolutely needed? I'd be doing farms and also general endgame content if that matters at all.

  3. Hello all,

I'm curious as to which is more viable at the end game? For instance is Radiation Blast good end game since a lot of it's abilities have -def where as Sonic has the -res.

  4. Hello everyone! I've been going back and forth between making either a Ice/, Water/ or Rad/ with either /Kin, /Cold, or /Rad. (Have a ton of fire chars, spreading my wings lol)

The plan is to have the ability to run fire farms as well as general end game content.

A question I've seen unanswered in another post that piqued my interest: Can the -Res you get from /Cold and/or -Def you get from /Rad out perform /Kin's Fulcrum Shift with slotting in anyway, shape, or form? I've just dived into playing with mids myself and experimenting but I was curious to hear from more experienced players there if possible. I feel like the answer is no, but you never know lol.

Which of these secondaries has the most impact late game? The way players are slotted nowadays is /Rad really viable with the speed in which things move?

I know /Kin can farm +4/x8 with bosses and eb's nicely. Can /Cold and/or /Rad produce similar results?

        - I know the speeds will vary of course!

Do -Res procs work well within rain powers?

As mentioned earlier I'm new to playing within mids and creating builds and things of that nature. When looking at the "Totals for Self" under the Misc Buffs tab I see that Haste is currently at +152.5% with an Ice/Kin build I've cannibalized from various sources. I notice there is a black/yellow line inserted within it. Is that line an indicator for the cap? I see the same for Damage as well. Would love some insight there!

Thanks for your time in advance!

This is softcapped Fire Defense, with around 30 S/L, and capped S/L/F for res for scrapper

Arc of Destruction gives you crits, and whirling/Titan sweet give you force feedback procs(You can swap them around if you want also)

I definitely like the looks of this! Awesome build for sure. Thank you, I'll start working towards it and see how the rechar feels! 😄

  6. Hello All,

I've been very curious about what a TW/Fire Scrapper can do in a farm. Would anyone be able to set me up with an optimal build no matter the cost to work from?

    Thanks in advance!

You can cap S/L defenses, which cover a lot of what you'll face in most content.

This one utilizes Meltdown/Rune of Protection with around 30 seconds of downtime. You can get this lower by focusing on recharge, but what makes a toon super survivable is not getting hit, and whatever gets through not doing much damage, so thus you have the Meltdown/RoP rotation.

Awesome, thank you! I'll definitely give this a run!

  8. Hello All,

I've seen a couple rad/rad farmers running around and I'm aware it's not the fastest thing on the planet in comparison to rad/fire or spines/fire. However it seems like it can be very strong and fun to boot. As well as something that can be brought out into other content.

Would anyone be able to provide a build primarily for farming with the option of not getting blown to bits in regular content! The set seems to do well in both fire and s/l farms so I wouldn't mind either!

Thanks for your help in advance!

  9. Hey Everyone!

I'm curious if Fire/Time is a viable build to go with? Seems like it has everything you could need while being an end hog of course lol. Any thoughts?

If someone has a build I can take a look at also that would be awesome!

  10. Hello All,

Does anyone have a good build for a Water/Fire blaster that can farm and/or do other content? Any help is greatly appreciated! 😄

    Thank you in advance!

  11. Hello build guru's!

I'm looking for an optimal building farming with my SS/Fire brutes! I don't have a limit on funds, so anything goes here! I'm looking for something with the usuals "doesn't die, kills fast, farming machine"

Can someone help me out here please! 😄

  12. I've always been curious about Ice Control, and I would like to give it a try! Are there any complimentary secondaries I should try with it? I know Ice is known as the set that's not the best at control, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun lol.. I've also seen Ice controllers in game who have no problem with the set. So I thought why not give it a go! I love the idea of Glacier!

Thanks in advance for any responses!
