  1. Of my 50s, five (including the first) are Sentinels, one is a Blaster, fwiw. I enjoy both, but the on-the-way-up survivability of the Sentinel tilts it a bit for me. On the other hand, I find the character concepts and power combos even more interesting, so I'm willing to try out either, just as I'm happy to alternate between Scrappers and Brutes.
  2. Okay, I'll crosslink to there, and any further conversation should go there.
  3. For some reason I didn't find this post when I posted my own version of it. Noting it here to unify the conversation (though it sounds like something that's not going to happen any time soon, if ever).
  4. Summary: Add sorting options and, optionally, filtering and tagging options for characters in the character select screen. Impact: This would largely impact the player base that generates a lot of alts on a given server. (I don't have a sense as to how many players this would most benefit, but the game has always encouraged alt creation, and even more so now with XP doubling and DFBs letting people easily try out toons.) Details: Currently characters are added to the character pages as they are created. They can be dragged into a different order as desired. This works well for people with a smaller set of characters created, but becomes awkward when more than one or two screens of characters are in play. The proposal is to allow for the character list to be sorted by the following values (the ones I could think of): Name Archetype Level Created date Most recently opened date Alignment Supergroup Optional / stretch goals: Sort on multiple fields (e.g., Alignment, then Level, then Name) Filters vs sorts (similar to the Name search currently in place): "Just show me blasters"; "Show me characters at level 20-30" Saved sorts Additional tags -- a flexible tagging system would be great, but it could be set non-specific values, applied by the user for their own purpose. E.g., a user might apply tag "A" (or toggle "A" true) for characters going after a given accolade, or for characters regularly duoing with another player, or for characters with a certain badge that has an in-game impact (Midnighter Club membership to allow access to Cimerora for ITFs). Note that not all these options need be done at once. I'd love to be able to automatically sort my alts by level, but I can think of circumstances when I've wanted pretty much all of these.
  5. Actually, for notes about other players/characters, you *can* already do this. You can Add/Edit Notes on characters (including text and star ratings), and the notes are available in the right-click menu on that character, or from the Friends list, or by clicking on their name in the Chat list.
  6. Yeah, I used to keep elaborate spreadsheets and so forth, back on Live. This is not an insoluble problem if the feature is never added. It would be just a lot more convenient to have the capability in-game.
  7. True, it would be character-based, and thus not available for a character until ... well, the character was created. Having it an additional tab/vield in the character info (ID?) screen would be fine. The current Description would be in-character. The Notes (what I'm proposing) would be OOC (and not visible, by preference). Ideally, it would also be available from the character selection screen. ("Hmmm. Who was I looking to run in a Manticore next time one popped up?").
  8. I don't necessarily mind the lack of privacy, though it's more OOC than I'd prefer. It's also only available once you've started up a character. Doing emails would be even messier.
  9. As someone who gets a bit zany with the Alt thing, a QoL feature I'd really like would be some ability to store notes with a character, preferably accessible from the character selection screen. This could include things like: Development plans (hey, this character really needs a travel power; I want to add slots to power X next time I can; when I respect, I want to drop X and add in Y; once I get more influence, the next thing I want to do is purchase these recipes) Activity plans (going after Accolade X -- need to do these TFs; this is the character I'm focusing on purchasing stuff for right now) Associations (this toon duos with my wife's character, X) All this can be done on piece of paper and notebooks and external programs ... but it would be nice to have access to it in-game. And, as just plain text (all I need), it should be cheap, storage-wise, and relatively uncomplicated development-wise. There's some precedent here -- private notes about other character in their rating screen -- but I would love to have something more robust and easily accessible.
  10. Thanks all for the replies. I will move other objects in the "entry hall" further away or out completely. I hadn't thought of using edit mode to get out ... clever. Thanks, @GM_Tahquitz for the offer. It's never been a critical thing -- at most, delaying me from doing some character updating, at worst meaning I have to find another way to quickly get someplace during a TF; in all cases I was able to back out (and while travel-via-base-portal is wildly convenient, there are plenty of other ways to do it). I will file a ticket, now that I've found more info about it in this thread
  11. I had an Axe tank back on Live who I enjoyed a lot. But folk looking for the "really slow, really damaging" sort of thing have probably gone to Titan Weapons instead. Hmmm. Now I need to make something with Axe.
  12. I never use hero planners (not since Live). So I look at this info quite a bit, too. And, yes, all you said.
  13. Can't find other mention of this, so I'll start a thread. Apologies if it's been covered elsewhere. I have only noticed this when passcode-entering my base (which is, honestly, the only way I enter). It has occured with multiple characters, and only started cropping up in the last week or two. On entering the base, I am inside the little teleport circle of the base entry tile -- and am unable to physically move outside its circular boundaries. I can move around inside, like someone caught in a plexiglass cylinder, and can tap on the portal again to go back where I came from, but that's it. Once it happens with a character, sometime during a session, the only reliable way to break it is to exit from CoH. Going back into the base again with the same alt leads to the same result ... usually. Sometimes swapping out alts doesn't seem to end it. Only closing the game and reopening works reliably. 1. Am I the only one this is happening to? 2. If not, has anyone found a resolution? I am happy to submit a bug report kind of thing, but thought I'd ask first to see if others have had the same problem.
