  1. Is there a way to force an invasion to be spawned on a blue or red zone after completing a LGTF?

For instance if the leader of the LGTF is a Hero or Vigilante the invasion would go blue side, and conversely if the leader is a Villain or Rogue the invasion would go red side.

    Any suggestions or advice?

    Thank you

  2. De-buffs done by a single player are pretty much lame, once you can get two or three players joining in, then de-buffing begins to be worthwhile. I can't think much can be done about it due to game standard mechanics. If you plan to solo a lot, then dump de-buff its essentially worthless and get something else.

I have a storm defender with lots of ACC de-buff I am yet to see a meaningful difference on the baddies punching me.

    Best of luck

You said if someone disagreed with a suggestion, they should be banned for a while. Guess what corrections to an idea are typically taken as. Even when posters say "I like your idea, but this part should be tweaked in this manner", the response from others has too often been that the person saying they like the idea but think it should be changed or improved is just disagreeing.

You also said there are a players that tend to be negative to suggestions, and you have the perception that they are being malicious in intent. So how does that translate or differ?

People have different views on things. And everyone is as entitled to their opinions and the opportunity to express those opinions as anyone else. Not just for the sake of agreeing with someone else, but to disagree or even say "I don't like it". Even if people say "I don't like it" to absolutely everything that could ever be presented, they still have the right to do so just as much as anyone else saying "I like it". And if you don't want to deal with that person any more? Ignore is always an option.

Back to the need to score a point by exaggerating shall we? I said if the negativity was malicious they should be ban for awhile big difference for banning due to disagreement

  4. it seems mobs are aware that an AOE is targeted on them, and as you go through the stupidly long graphic they have all the time they need to get away from their group and move to the most worthless place, which usually annoys me.

At times, I think it exploits the long winding times to get a power off... but then it may just be luck more than anything, is just like every time I target a mob and set the AOE a player with area knockback exclusively knocks my target and none others....

  5. In the past few days, I been leading MS event after other, and periodically I would come across a team of players, who would need to disband and be invited individually. Given that the league has room for the team, it would be nice if the League leader could invite the group leader, and the whole team be transferred into the the league.

    This only a QoL suggestion

  6. I had posted something similar to this in the past, but asked for an account base which has all the characteristics of a base, but allows your account alts to be able to deposit stuff in the account base, while being able to belong to an SG.

I'm trying to imagine a suggestions forum where no suggestion is allowed to have potential shortcomings pointed out, and then folks who made the suggestion are left wondering why they didn't get what they wanted... and then I remember a local church with a "silent prayer" wall. Of course, I don't get to read those prayers so I have no idea what folks are praying for or if their prayers are answered.

Lets not make a point of extremes, if you please, and this is exactly the point I been trying to make. I never said, do not let corrections, enhancements, etc not be made

These are both pretty restrictive towards players and would require a lot of GM work.  We don't want to shut people up, just keep them respectfully discussing the topic at hand.

GooglyMoogly, I tend to agree with you, especially since it would take a lot of GM oversight, which is a sad thing. The spirit that I was trying to convey is that if this is going to be a useful "suggestion" outlet for normal players to make suggestions, it needs to facilitate doing that, and even encourage it. The problem is that there is a handful of players, that tend to be very negative about whatever is being proposed (regardless if the concept was good/bad/indifferent), that gives me the perception of maliciousness in the activity. And as the suggestion gets hit by the negative nanny, other players responds to the negative nanny, and becomes a never ending rant and the original suggestion got lost in the maelstrom and becomes to chaotic for a potential developer to even pay heed to the request. Frankly, as sad as it is, I agree with you, would take too much GM policing, and thus the suggestion forum is pretty much moot.

  9. I used to be among those who would love to see a way to get tough and weave soonest, and often hopped kick would go away, but since I been mastering the art of IO placement, I found that Kick is one of the few powers that you can choose to have melee or ranged or AOE defense IO sets, so you can up what you need, really truly versatile.

Ironically given the IOs plusses to the defense of your choice, makes the get rid of kick thought sort of pointless after all.

To be honest, I would like to get rid of the pre-requisites for pool powers with regards to an order of choice for the choices within the pool given the reason for pool powers was to round the character.

  10. To begin, thank you for moderating! Big Hug

As I try to post or read other posts, you can categorize respondents into supportive or just down anti whatever you post, ask for a QoL and they tell you work around it, at times they are polite enough to tell you how, despite you described the how and the why you want relief from that specific work around.

Perhaps my suggestion, since folks are trying to influence the game in a positive manner to their style of play which may be not quite unique but quite popular; to actually put the stops to the negative nannies, even bar for a day or two to get them to be more supportive or just have them say nothing if they can't be supportive. I am fine, if the response is to tell you there is already a way to do it, seemslessly but the player simply did not know.

Sure. I do that with my Corruptors routinely every time I team with my friends. That said, why the hostility?

Edit: Sorry, you said every 3rd fight. No, I tend to do that much more frequently than every 3rd fight.

Edit again: Besides, per the other threads requesting this, the devs have already stated they won't be making MM pet upgrades passive or automatic.

Way to put an end to a dream, ha ha ha ha

  12. I get the QoL suggestion...

I have over 55 alts, all but 1 are in the same "home SG" where they can share goodies. The 1, my main is a member of Chaos United and as aa result I can't save stuff with that alt in the home SG" which at times, the work around, is just tedious, such a getting a friend to take your stuff and hand it back when you switch alts...

Perhaps, a QoL solution is for SGs to have a "Special Guest" status, where the base allows the special Guest, while not a member, to have access to the storage in the base. Thus the base would show a list of members and another for special guests.

    Just a suggestion....

  13. I get it, that during the live days of this game, there was a need to have time sinks to give players the illusion that the mission is longer or bigger, the maps bigger and what not.

Yet today, we play the game willingly, and it is free too (but I am happy to contribute when I can), so there is no need for time sinks, they are irrelevant for the contemporary player seeking to have a good time.

So why not remove them, little by little?

Time sinks that come into mind is making players traveling across zones, when really it is not needed. I remember doing an SF, where it sent you to another zone, but the pointer sent me to a boat in my zone, did the mission at the other zone and when finished we returned to the home zone. Thus the feel of going elsewhere was there, but the time sink of the pointless travel was not there, which I felt was great.

Another time sinks are the kill all mobs, this was a problem even during live days. It was resolved by making them a 90% kill of the mobs, perhaps this can be re-instated. Of course if the players want to stay in the mission, despite that the mission has been completed, and do kill all the mobs in order to gain experience its their choice. Frankly, I like choice.

Another time sink is kill the boss and his guards, but it becomes a near kill all when the boss is placed in a mega room (which often the room is about 80% of the map) because you have to kill all the mobs in the room, not the mobs that were part of the boss's team. Perhaps killing the boss and his immediate guards would be a fix to this time sink. Makes me think, when you rescue the councilman in Manticore you defeat the mobs only in the room where the councilman was at, and not all the mobs in the mega-room.

Another type of time sink is when mobs that have Moment of Glory which I refer to "way too long moment of boredom" really needs to go , the game needs to be fluid and able to keep a good fun pace, without "commercial interruptions"

Another insidious time sink is running mobs, really is this needed at all? Running mobs actually makes the game boring and tedium, not more fun.

I am sure there are other time sinks, feel free to add to this list, but also include with your nomination what you would think the fix would be.

I will not deny, the game as is is fun, but it can be improved and be made even greater, and much more fun which is the intent of this post.

Please try not to propose work arounds, work arounds are band aids at best and not a fix, but if provided they could be informative and thus welcome if provided with good heart

Perhaps those that disagree with the removal of time sinks, could start another threat asking for the addition of time sinks?

    Regards

  14. I would like to see the running mob mechanic go away, since it is a time sink event. Frankly, the days of the time sink as a necessity to fake the game is bigger than what it really is, is no longer needed at all.

So yes, remove the running mob, it is a very unwelcomed time sink event, that adds boredom to the game, I am sure there will be a player or two, who actually will claim that chasing mobs all over the map and looking for them all over the map is the greatest form of fun they could possibly experience.

  15. If I understand properly your suggestion, it would mean, you click the toggle, and an area about you provides to all friendly players get the status effect protection

If my understanding is correct, I can find myself supportive of the suggestion, but truly why bother?

In the case of my emp, since clear mind is really not needed in the game (in my opinion), as it used to be in live days; I dropped it in order to get Rune of Protection instead. Other support classes if built right, would also have Rune of Protection and Sheer Will for status effect protection making clear mind pointless.

Hope this helps you with your dilemma

I told you that I was basing what I said upon forum threads that posted players UIs.

Why don't you do pool to see the number of players that would what you want?

I have, but the sample quantity is low, under 25 atm, and all were supportive of it; from many folk's perspective it did not impact how the play

I don't think that there would be enough players that would want to stack all their trays like that to make it worth the DEVs time.

There are several threads about how people set up their UI, and I don't remember seeing much or really any of this going on.

I try to set up my trays so that they don't block what I consider to be the main viewing area and your stacking of trays all on one side seems to block too much useful viewing area.

I really do not know if this would be popular or not QoL, doubt very much you could be the judge of that as well unless you done some polling to back your statement about popularity (Because of your reply, I asked my many friends (14 thus far) in Everlasting and they have been supportive, but that is hardly an appropriate statistical sample, ha, ha ,ha. I have seen pics with a screen distributed set up as you shown, I like some of your exhibited practices in where you have a larger area for chat and more square and larger sized map, that is pretty neat, and yes the middle screen is clean, love it. I may adopt some of your practices to my standard GUI build.

I'll make you a deal. If the proposal also includes a down arrow even without having to max out the number of trays so your QoL isn't stepping on my game play, such that if I have 2 or 3 trays open I can collapse back down to 1 or 2 without having to go all the way to 9 trays before I can do that? I'll agree it actually is a QoL thing and stop arguing against it. That's not much to ask for to have your suggestion modified, is it?

Deal, if you read closely what I wrote, I wished for the tray to go up to 10 with the arrow but also to allow if I wanted to detached a few along the way would be great. I  love the idea of the down arrow, so you don't collapse all the trays in one single hit, that is a wonderful suggestion!

    Temporary fixes are just that.

A bunch of heroes crossing over in order to run missions to get an accolade before they go back to blue side is not a "fix".  It gives red side players that want to participate in those same specific things a larger pool of players to work with for however long players are crossing over to do so, but I don't see it doing much to help with other things.

    =============

Having "undercover contacts" for heroes means that some players will send their heroes over to red side to run the "undercover" missions and nothing else.

    =============

Giving more money to players on red side means that a whole lot of people won't care because they have enough money for about anything and if they decide they want to start raising some more they log in a 50, make a lot of money, and mail it to the alt that needs money.

Because a 50 can make a lot of money fast.

I know that I am not offering much in the way of ideas, but I struggle to think of how you can make someone WANT to play a side that they may have already tried and didn't enjoy.

I only played red side back on live when an in-game friend wanted to play red side.  If that friend and/or his son are still out there I do not know about it.

I have a toon sitting in red side right now, but I am only running Ouroboros missions for badges outside of, so far, the Efficiency Expert missions which I had to run live and mayhem missions which I ran for the exploration badges (and Lord Schweinzer for everything except PI).  I should have a time-sensitive badge tomorrow when I log on and then I will begin the process of turning them back to the blue.
Down the line I know that I will dip back to red side for some more badging, but for now I have had my fill.

And all of these 'solutions' feel like more of the that

Offering players something that they can dip over to red side to get, and then they go back to blue, or something that they can just ignore with no great loss.

I like to play blue side.
I do not like to play red side.

There are things that can make me switch over temporarily, but I have not yet seen the thing that makes me enjoy playing the villain more than the hero, so I will always switch back to that side.

its always easy to critique, the idea is for constructive how to solve the issue...

I don't think it's needed to have any UI change.  Here's my standard Tray layout.

    screenshot_240813-00-55-23.powertrays.jpg.de27087d380fed4d34d07d9df6dd6e3a.jpg

I use a stack of 3 extra Trays and set them up as so (they used to be in 8-6-4 order, but I swapped due to wanting what was in Tray 4 and Tray 8 to swap).  I put particular Powers/Macros in each Tray.  Trays 5, 7, and 9 are just a click away.  This is rather compact and fits in the lower-right corner of the screen well.

Still a quality of line, it is not mandatory, but a nice thing to have available... Ir really don't get it, why folks are so hard against QoLs?
