  1. Sorry if this is in the wrong place but this is driving me absolutely nuts. Also, I didn't see any other forum post unless I overlooked it.

I can NOT figure out how to bind to mouse wheel up and down but I was able to get the mbutton3 to work. I've done every combination I could find for binds but to no avail.

This is what I'm working with:

    "/bind MBUTTONup powexec_slot 1"

I'm also using MOUSEWHEELUP, ....DOWN, etc. etc.

    HELP!!!!

There's time.  When the game was live, I took every AT to level 50, every controller primary to 50, every tank primary to 50.

Nowadays, I have one 50 so far.

Right now I'm kinda obsessed with my ill/cold controller. I did make a scrapper and modeled him after Luke Cage lol... but I'm liking ill/cold right now

  3. I have another suggestion and I'm sure this can be done easily....

Add a build planner to the launcher. Most private servers I've played on have some sort of a talent calculator built in AND they have a direct link to the forums for you to post or see what others have come up with. That way the community doesn't have to worry about who is making these unofficial calculators and the devs will keep us all safe by having a one-stop shopping kind of thing.

Maybe incorporate Mid's builder since it looks like that's a pretty popular one or just come up with one. That way the devs can update and maintain it for the community.

There are 15 archetypes to choose from.  You must play all of them eventually.  🙂

Yeah I've probably created and leveled 7 toons to level 10 so far. LOL

    Loving them all so far!!

  5. If you did micro transactions it shouldn't be for p2w. Costumes, skins, vanity pets, etc. would be ideal. Just don't add "gear". I think not having gear is a major draw for this game and probably keeps those gear-hogs out of CoH hence keeping our community the way it is.

    Other ideas:

    • Better quest tracker would be awesome.
    • CoH uses a "queue" system for abilities which is cool but maybe look at how SWG used theirs. Definitely promotes better macroing. Tons of information out there to check it out.
    • Please do not use any of the WoW "QoL" stuff. Once they started in on that WoW became Candyland.
    • Bounty system (totally stealing it from SWG) - maybe have a power set (weapons, hand-to-hand, traps, bows, melee weapons, etc.) for Villain to hunt down an actual player on Hero side. Maybe name it.... DUN DUN DUN.... Bounty Hunter! lol
      • The power set would be for non-heroes - no supes. Kinda like the Boys. lol
      • Villain picks up a bounty and has to track that player down in the world and take them out.
      • Good inf maker.
      • Promotes world PvP.
      • There's tons of ways to set up the rules but it's something I'd definitely enjoy.

Sentinel is an interesting AT.  Trades secondary attacks for a higher degree of toughness, and dials back the damage just a bit as a trade-off.  I haven't gotten into one too heavily yet, but the longer the game is around, the higher the likelihood that eventually, I'll try them all again!

I'll definitely be trying out a lot until I settle. Just sucks being a nub all over again LOL

Well, check out the Sentinel - it's a ranged damage archetype that has defensive armor sets as their secondary.  There are also some cool sets, like martial combat or tactical arrow for blasters (both secondaries).  Some newer support sets, like Nature Affinity or Time Manipulation, are very interesting.  Beast and Demon Summoning are pretty fun sets for Masterminds.  Also make sure to check out the P2W vendor in the starting zone - nothing there actually costs real money, and there are some neat temporary or thematic powers, (some do cost in-game influence/infamy, though).  Cheers!

I went Sentinel with my first toon (dual pistols) just to get the gameplay down. Now I'm trying to figure out a direction to main. Thanks for that info!! Super helpful!

Welcome back!  Be sure to check out some of the new stuff that's been added!

Will do. Just trying to get my head on straight. It's been YEARS since I've been on and when they announced the game was dead my brain just tossed everything out. I'm trying to figure out a good toon to build. I went with a ranged but I think I'm going to roll a few toons to see what I want to go with. Any suggestions?

DCUO? Oh, you poor soul... Get into Paragon City, STAT!

Yeah. Solo's, Duo's and all that crap for zero gear. Rinse/repeat EVERY SINGLE DAY. So sad because that game could've been so good too.

    Welcome home!
I found it on a fluke when it first relaunched on this server, then was shut-off, then was back! And much to my wife's chagrin. . . I have done nothing much since it has returned - but I am in a much better mood!

Isn't it amazing how something like this game changes your mood? Thank jeebus my wife likes video games and MMO's... think I'll have to sway her to come to CoH and stop playing stupid WoW.

I recall clearly the very first day I logged into this game, after completing the tutorial, and finding myself standing at the steps leading up to the statue of Atlas.  I was in awe.  15 years later, I was able to feel that again when the Homecoming server went online.  Actually brought a tear to my eye, and I had to just stand there, pan around a bit, and take it all in.  At the time, I didn't know how long it would last.  But, since then, I have grown more comfortable that the game will never be completely taken away again, and set to work by creating 20 characters, playing them in PUGs, on teams with friends, and soloing them, depending on the time of day, and circumstances.  In short, I couldn't be happier to be back in Paragon City!

Pretty sure you will feel the same way.

I remember the same exact thing. I was getting nostalgic with SWG but that just didn't feel the same since those private servers are usually unbalanced in some way and the communities are bunk. But now I have to decide what I want to roll. LOL

    Welcome home man!!

I love seeing these kinds of posts!  I'm hopeful that in a "post-deal" world, that more mainstream advertising will result in a LOT more folks realizing the game is back, legitimate, and actively being developed, leading to them also finding their way home.

Absolutely... I'm chomping at the bit to get home. I think I'll get my wife to install it while I'm here. LOL

But I was just skipping around Reddit and saw the post and couldn't resist to sign up.
