City of Heroes 20th Anniversary!
Today (April 24th, 2024) marks the 5 Year Anniversary Homecoming's first shard (Torchbearer) coming online. It's been an incredible year so far, not the least of which was Homecoming being granted an official license to host City of Heroes™ earlier this year. While that alone is cause for celebration, this year also marks the 20th Anniversary of City of Heroes (which is officially observed on April 28th).
As such, we have numerous festivities planned!New Annual Event: Anniversary Time Capsules
May is the month in which we celebrate City of Heroes' Anniversary. This mainly involved a new annual anniversary badge, but we wanted to go the extra mile this year. We are introducing a brand new annual event: Anniversary Time Capsules.
Starting on Tuesday, April 30th, these time capsules will begin appearing all over Paragon City, The Rogue Isles and Praetoria. Within them you'll find a range of goodies including some brand new vanity pets, new temporary powers, new badges, new temporary costume powers, Anniversary Tokens (which can be used to acquire most of these rewards from Luna in Ouroboros and Echo Plaza), as well as some additional surprises from the past.
Of course, a new anniversary badge will also be available this year:

City of Heroes 20th Anniversary Costume Contest!
Finally - what would an official Homecoming Event be without a costume contest? Well, we'll be hosting two contests (one on Torchbearer, one on Reunion) towards the end of May, with several members of the original City of Heroes team joining us as guest judges!
This will be an anything-goes (within the confines of our Code of Conduct) costume contest with no specific theme. Bring your best costumes!
When?
Torchbearer: Sunday, May 19th @ 10:00PM UTC (click to see 10pm UTC in your timezone - the contest will take approx. 1 hour)
- 3:00PM Pacific time
- 6:00PM Eastern time
- 11:00PM UK time
- 12:00AM Central European time
Reunion: Sunday, May 26th @ 10:00PM UTC (click to see 10pm UTC in your timezone - the contest will take approx. 1 hour)

Where?
Echo Plaza. Heroes and Villains can reach Echo Plaza via TUNNEL Teleporter, Long Range Teleporter, or Pocket D (Truck near AE section).

Due to event taking place on a limited number of shards, the permanent golden title will be applied to a character of player's choosing on any shard.
The overall best costume will win:
- A permanent golden title: 20th Anniversary Costume Contest Winner
- The Fashion Victim Badge
- 1500 Prismatic Aethers
- 50 Anniversary Tokens
The runner-up best costume will win:
- A permanent golden title: 20th Anniversary Costume Contest Finalist
- The Fashion Victim Badge
- 250 Prismatic Aethers
- 50 Anniversary Tokens
The 4 runner-up costumes on each shard will win:
- A permanent golden title: 20th Anniversary Costume Contest Runner-Up
- The Fashion Victim Badge

Please note that multiboxing during these costume contests is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification and prizes being revoked.

City of Heroes Anniversary Event

May is now the annual City of Heroes Anniversary Event!
- Likely more event additions to come; This patch is primarily to ensure the main functionality of the zone event is working without major issues.

Time Capsules glowies have been hidden around city zones! Open them for prizes and nostalgic encounter enemy encounters; You might even encounter rare enemies from the distant past!
- If a zone has Winter Gifts, those same zones should also have Time Capsules.
- Time Capsules have been given an updated "complete" FX.

New salvage for this event: Anniversary Tokens.

Each capsule will always include reward 1 (one) Anniversary Token.
- This is bugged, fixed in an upcoming build, all capsules will always grant a reward.
- These can be traded to Luna in Ouroboros in exchange for the new Anniversary Event rewards.
- All event rewards purchasable with Anniversary Tokens can also be found just by opening Time Capsules.
- Anniversary Tokens can be traded to other players or sold on the Auction House.

"Anniversary Merits (x1000)" in Luna Store renamed to "Anniversary Tokens (x1000)"- String failed and BETA-Only Purchase reading as PString, fix in place for next patch.
- Tokens now state can be purchased from Luna in Ouroboros or Echo Plaza
- Tokens have been re-scaled to their proper size.

With the release of Issue 27, Page 7 - it was adjusted to ALWAYS be enabled as quality of life change.-

For those of you don't know me, I'm Arcanum, I've been with the project since October 2019 - I tend to wear a lot of hats, which include a lot of the administrative stuff for the team, including trainings for the GMs and the Developers. So I wanted to chime in real quick with some comments.
First is, I think there's a lot of valuable feedback in here - and (just like with the Focused Feedback threads 😉) the team is already reading and internally reviewing what's being discussed here! I'm chiming in because I want to make sure that everyone knows that these feedback threads ARE being read and discussed - almost every comment and opinion 😄.
Having said that, I don't want to deceive you with false expectations. There are times where the feedback is reviewed by the team and ultimately deemed invalid or not currently possible. As much as we'd like to reply to everyone's feedback, we are (at the end of the day) just a bunch of volunteers hoping to make a fun game for everyone - which means time is limited and it just isn't feasible.
As always though, we appreciate the feedback - we're taking it, reviewing it, and hoping to learn & improve! As I think that's all any of us can do!-

Hello everyone - The Spring Fling event is now live!
- Special missions are available from Ganymede, Scratch, DJ Zero, Jessica Megan Duncan and Arbiter Hawk in Pocket D
- Special Valentines tip missions will drop from any non-Incarnate enemies above level 20
- Chilly and Dram are open for business in Pocket D
- In total: 7 badges and 7 temporary powers are up for grabs!

Developers really ARE responsible for a bit of everything. If you have any experience in Art, Coding, Story-writing, etc - you can fill out an application here. Really any talents you think that may support the creative team feel free to fill out an app and let us know!
Additionally, we are also recruiting for Game Masters who are responsible for Game/Forum/Discord Moderations, ticket support, etc. (Game Masters also run the in-game events like Costume Contests) - if that's more your speed, same link and click the game master app instead!
Both are a greatly appreciated use of your volunteered time!-

First of all, I'm so glad you were able to join us! Although I'm sorry you found things confusing! Were you following along the admin map prompts? We try and keep everyone up to date of our judging each step of the way. There was a BIG turnout (particularly on Torchbearer) resulting in two zone maps, so things were certainly hectic and the chats were flying. Typically all you have to do is show-up and stand in line with the other players, and the GMs will walk around examining them all!
We then add the Finalists & Shard Winner onto our GM Team/League, and notify them on the steps of receiving their prizes. However, we also take each shard winner and compete them against one another for one ultimate contest winner.
So those final results will be posted later today! We share the winners of each shard internally to the whole Homecoming Team (even the ones that couldn't make it) and we give everyone 24 hours to vote on their overall favorite. I'll be doing a follow-up post later tonight with the results! 😄-

I personally always take Fly. Usually for the convenience of being able to access anywhere on any map without any difficulties, or the need for extra temp powers (i.e. Jetpack).

She's known to move around a bit; if a mob gets too close, she'll engage!
It's fine, eventually she'll realize she's off centered and will shuffle back into place. You might shift around a bit too if you were standing in the same spot 24/7!-

4. Rules on visual noise spamming such as fireworks, Shapeshift spam screen shake or Shadowfall.

- You can attend both, but only one prize per player will be given.
- Do not use costume editing options not available/found in the game.
- Aether Prismatic Costume modifications ARE allowed.
- Using emotes or powers to disrupt the event (and other players costumes) will likely cause you to go to prison (IYKYK).

Hi everyone! We're so excited to be teaming up with some members of the Original City of Heroes Team to host this Q&A! Please use this thread to post any questions you may have. Answers will not be posted in this thread - we'll be collecting the questions and then compiling the answers for a post towards the end of May.
