Possibly. I only have an in person sarcasm meter. While I certainly used the bejeezus out of it while leveling, I was under the impression that at the end game this power is 100% not needed. If that's not the case I will go back and fix up the build. Anything else?

50% of my heals are 6-slotted 🙂 It is kind of the idea tho. I can probably count on both hands the amount of times I have to heal per instance.

As I get deeper into Homecoming I realize more and more that a purebred healer power set like Empathy is not needed. Alpha strike - if it hits defense based tanks. Or if hits resistance based tanks hard enough. If they don't have a set or incarnate heal, or inspirations I might get to heal. Squishes - smart play tends to trump defense and resistance. Sometimes you have it all, I might get to heal. If their not an inspiration glutton. So what does the "modern" Empathy Defender do? Well for me, everything. This build allows the Empathy/Sonic Defender to check a lot of boxes. He can heal, buff, reduce resistance, control mitigate, damage. He is 6 seconds off of perma hasten without FF or Cross Punch. With FF alone -12 seconds. .05% from S/L and defenses that should be easily capped in any team environment. It's fun and non-stop game play whether you are keeping Fortitude up, mitigating damage with Shockwave or nuking. I'm new to building so please leave feedback! I haven't played the game much outside of testing these last few days. I was respecing back and forth between Mu and EM. I love Mu, I love it's AOE, DoTs and it fits the concept of my character. However, it is crazy endurance hungry. So I tried a regen/recovery build with EM. It turned out to be a smidge more tanky, had no end issues but very bleh damage. This right here makes my BR/Therm Def boring for 99% of the content. Is there a thread addressing the ease of the content and the lack of needing team diversity or even in some cases a team...?

I have 3 "pocket" Defenders for my SS/SD Brute. Therm/BR fills my resistance holes, you can auto cast a single target or group heal and I alt tab to Forge and apply res buffs. Same concept with my Emp/Son minus the resistance but you get nice +reg and +rec. The last one I use is a Son/DP. This is the one I usually run when a team or TF is short. She is very passive - slap DF on the tank, have DR on and alt tab to throw your res buff on every few minutes. This works particularly well with defense based tanks - my SS/SD is essentially indestructible at this point and hits like a freight train.

No. I can take a look at building out with just the range friendly abilities from Dev. Now that were talking about it that way it does seem to be a secondary that favors close range...in the end it all has to make sense and accomplish what the goal is.

My first Blaster, even from live (I played CoV). I love Beam! I have it on 2 of my Defenders, I find it fun and useful. However, on my Blaster it seems the set-up takes quite long and I'm almost exclusively in melee range. I do like the idea of an actual ranged Blaster and I don't think Beam/Dev is going to be that. What else pairs well with BR for a ranged Blaster? I know Beam/TA is popular but what else is out there? On a completely other topic. I also love Ice as a primary - what would be an awesome secondary for that?

I appreciate all the feedback. I started up a few of the previously mentioned combos and found Therm/BR to be my jam. I realize it's probably slightly less functional than Therm/Son but sonic for a blast power is an absolute snoozefest. In spite of my previous statement after I complete the Therm/BR and a Merc/EA MM I'm going to give Emp/Sonic a go and eventually Sonic/Ice or BR. With that said what the pros/cons for Ice vs. BR?

Looking for some feedback. You'll notice some "weird" things like no Hasten and the Medicine Pool. I opt'd out of Hasten because with all the other +recharge my Foot Stomp recharges less that 1s slower than on my Brute with Hasten. This also allowed me to pick up the Medicine Pool and aside from being able to self heal, with Shield lacks, I was able to grab another 2.25% S/L res. I would love some feedback on any adjustments to be made, thoughts about my pool choices breaking from the norm. I'm a team guy so I don't need solo options. I'm looking for the most wanted power sets for late/end game of these combos: Emp/Son Therm/Sonic Therm/BR or BR/Therm Sonic/BR or BR/Sonic Sonic/Ice I like a more active playstyle and I've heard that "healers" are really not needed in the end game because everyone is basically a god. What are the pros and cons of these builds? Which work better as defenders/corruptors. Whats wanted/needed for late/end game content? And finally what limitless budget builds do you have?

That helps a ton. Pet slotting, for me, is the hardest to figure out. I like the more offensive build. I do recall seeing something that Homecoming is addressing procs due to being a little op. You dont have Dark Servant slotted at all, suggestions on the inherent slot? +2 Mag Hold? I did also notice that hasten, even when not activated, would recharge in 110s, if correct how would you adjust? Again thank you, this is all helping so much.

I just don't know where to go from here. I feel like -to hit in Darkest Night is total overkill, I'm not sure how to slot Dark Servant, Howling Twilight or what to do with the last slot in each of my pets.
