One important disadvantage to keep in mind doing the 1 room thing is that it becomes very tedious to find objects using the Current Room tab.  It can get away with using separate rooms, however it becomes tricky when editing as you'll fall through the grass floor when crossing over doorways and such.

And if you use separate rooms and fall through the grass, your SG mates will do the same when they visit the base, so keep that in mind.

One bonus is that, with the big room idea, if you decide to do it, once you get your lawn, water, or tiles down on top of the base, you can hollow out the big room as mentioned above to use the actual in-base rooms for other space, and use the in-base teleporters to go between areas of the base.

I started playing this game for the first time in May of this year and I already know I would feel this way in this situation.

Or trying to pass off Blade and Soul to soon-to-be-former CoH players. It just showed that NCSoft didn't really understand this audience, and that many players didn't want a fantasy MMO - otherwise we would have probably been playing WoW with the rest of the world 😛

My main is the only tribute toon.

Tahquitz is a loosely based nod to a character in the book The Lonesome Gods by Louis L'amour. (Six foot tall loner in Agua Caliente that the Cahuilla people confused for an Aztec demon.) So, short, gregarious, and actually an Aztec demon, reformed. 😁

    Oddly enough...

My high school math teacher was into Louis L'Amour. So I made a tongue-in-cheek homage character names Louise La Morte, although she's more femme fatale than western hero.

Remember how there used to be an outdoor Steel Canyon Family map people farmed to heck a while back?

XP nerf aside, the Family never got over that.

They bid their time, trained long and hard behind the scenes, and after years and years, you've got the result in front of your eyes: Beam Rifle, Titan Weapons, Time Manipulation. High-level Family is no joke.

As a guy who wasn't around for that part of the game before Homecoming came by...

    NOTED!

Agreed on all the above. I have kind of a crappy mouse, so accidentally dragging powers mid-fight is a pain.

I also wish we could lock in which tray is actually in a tray, because my clumsy self has accidentally clicked over to the next tray instead of clicking the first power more times than I want to admit.

Both issues I've bumped into with my laptop's subpar wireless mouse 😛

I was Rikti Commando and a few dozen others. I was also a child for the majority of the old game’s life, so I expect memories of me are not all positive.

    P.S. Hi Psy 🙂

LOL, I thought you were a kid back then. Nice to see you again RC 😄

AR/Dev...That Frankenstein gun*shivers*.  Lethal damage, most resisted type of damage in the game.  Don't get Flamethrower until late teens so you get something other than Lethal and of course it is a narrow cone and has craptastic accuracy.  Then caltrops is required for the tripmine to fire off since it keeps the mob close enough to trigger the mine.  Only benefit is beanbag and taser, with those two you can mez a boss as long as you don't miss with one.  I believe TD was nerfed like i23 or i24 so it didn't provide the accuracy it use to, making slotting accuracy in the powers now.  At least until you have IO sets installed in the powers.

I dunno, I love my AR/Dev so far, although she's still sub 20 as one of my alts. The Prestige Enhancements are helping early on at least, and I'm still getting along with TD. I rolled her as a femme fatale as I try to find themes for all of my toons, and she's also a hover blaster to help reduce melee based damage. Plus, with Power Customization, I ditched the frankengun from the word go.

My primary is a TW/Stone Brute, and he's... trickier, just because he's an End hog. I hesitate to say it's a bad build though, as long as you keep hitting enemies... I'll have to see how he stacks up when I finally get GA for him though.

  8. They were definitely bugged on my wife's client. No amount of digging or searching could have put her character several hundred yards out of the eastern zone boundary. It's as if the door locations for her client were correct for the map, but misaligned to the actual map geometry.

  9. Some people prefer Mastermind binds on the number pad, but I have one hand on WASD and the other on the mouse, so instead, I have my MM binds on:

    Shit/ Ctrl / Alt PLUS:

    QWE

    ASD

    ZXC

I use Shift, Ctrl, and Alt for various things, like Goto, Follow, Defensive, Aggressive, Summon, Release, etc. That way I can still use WASD to move, and then use Shift / Ctrl/ Alt + a key to do pet-related stuff.

    /bind f "pow_exec_name fly"

    /bind lshift "pow_exec_name teleport"

    /macro Nova "powexec_name Bright Nova$$goto_tray 9"

    /macro Nova "powexec_name White Dwarf$$goto_tray 8"

    /macro human "powexec_toggleoff Bright Nova$$powexec_toggleoff White Dwarf$$goto_tray 1

Those are my big hacks of the moment.... will add a super speeder in a bit.

I use similar macros, but I also bound Shift+E to Shadowstep, which is incredibly handy for zipping around zones without having to resort to (slower) Nova flight.

  10. Name of SG: The Nightwatch

    SG Officers: @Obsidius, @Rella

SG Outline: Work all day, Fight all night

I mean, it's more an SG for my wife and I more than anything. We work 8-5, and we have kids, so when they go to bed, we play. Hence the name of the group.

Plus I needed a base for storage, crafting, and teleporters. Mind you, it's not one of those bases that builds outside the base boundary (unless I get crazy and rebuild from scratch), but for a "traditional" base it has all the accouterments and even a trainer and vendor.

Formerly of Triumph's Paragon Regulators (which was actually an SG we inherited).
