Forget defense and lean into procs in radiation therapy, ground zero, knockout blow, foot stomp, pick up soul mastery for gloom and dark obliteration and proc those too, pick up hand clap and stuff both damage procs, FF and kb-kd proc in there.

Cram recharge bonuses in everything else, as well as slow resistance. This approach leans heavily in having rage and fury supply the to-hit and +damage. Procs in your powers means you can still squeeze in damage during rage crash. You'll be surprised how quickly you can kill things and how survivable you can be when things around you die quickly or are knocked down.

Hand clap and it's kin are grossly underappreciated, just because they don't do damage doesn't mean they are not useful in today's meta especially when they can fit force feedback procs and provide mitigation. It gives you breathing room during rage crash, and you can cycle it with foot stomp for consistent mitigation. I take it even on soft-capped builds but it's exponentially more useful as you shift away from a defense focus.

Open with hand clap, then ground zero/foot stomp/radiation therapy. After your first taste of real power you will never go back to building radiation armor with a defense focus.

Must have procs in rad therapy - Theft of essence + end

Must have procs in hand clap - Force feedback +recharge, Sudden acceleration kb-kd

Must have procs in KO blow - Force feedback +recharge

Must have procs in Foot stomp - Force feedback +recharge

Those force feedback procs will help you with your Rage uptime, and as I said you will be leaning on Rage a lot for the +to hit and +dam. Particle shielding and Rad Therapy and the Theft proc will take care of your endurance problems, for drawn out single target fights bring some recovery serums.

I'd like to keep Mu-Mastery for thematic reasons (atomic energy and electricity), but if it makes a big difference, I can skip it.

It has less overall defense now (and a bit less of that precious psionic ressistance), but I've managed to put in Handclap, Flight with Winter's Gift and a +Recharge from force feedback on KO-Blow, Foot Stomp and Handclap.

  2. Ah yeah originally I intended to pick a movement power.

I couldn't figure out which of the powers I'd trade it for.

What I tried was to kinda spread the ressistance out a bit. Especially so that I'm not too vulnerable against psionic damage.

Cold ressistance is what I'm lacking the most for some odd reason. D:

Edit: Oh I just saw your edited build, many, many many thanks, that's a huge improvement! ^_^

  3. Hi everyone! :D

I recently started to make myself a ss/rad brute without thinking about how I he should acually look when he is 50.

I don't have much experience with brutes and so, after taking some dark/rad brute build and mix it together with a a rad/ss tanker build, I came up with this build here:

The main reason of why I've taken mu mastery was to kinda offset the lack of super stength's aoe capabilities.

I'd really like to also be able to jump into packs of enemies and spam aoe's to kill off minions and leutenants and focus on the bosses with my single target attacks from super strength.

So I've made myself a necromancy/electric affinity mm and well, I don't know exactly what went wrong while I was building it, but it kinda underperforms greatly compared to my demons/storm mm. D:

Maybe I'm just wrong and Zombies simply don't do much damage, but perhaps you guys see something here that can be improved.

I'd be more than willing to i.e. swap super speed out for something else, perhaps tactics, but I kinda ran out of slots. D:

  5. Thanks a lot for your Input!

I've also looked a bit into demons a bit and thought about going with those instead, because I never tried them.

I also put a little build together, inspired by one of your builds.

How about this one? would it be viable?

I just really wanted to put soul mastery in there if I go with demons, for thematic reasons and stuff.

I thought about going with mace mastery, but then again I took it on most of my other builds and if it's somehow possible then I really want to avoid having it as some sort of a fixed standard for every mastermind that I play.

I've also put in snow storm because I hate flying enemies. >_>

Would I need O²-Boost or are the heals from the Demons enough to keep themselfes alive?

I thought about going with Lash instead but it isn't a cone aoe like Crack Whip.

I also thought about replacing assault with arcane bolt to take away some of the burden on my endurance.

(and because the changes to this power in the recent patch seemed kinda interesting)

  6. Hi,

I've been thinking about rolling a merc/storm(and probably heat) mm, especially with group fly to not only knock everyone down but also drown them in an avalance of ice, snow and lead from above. D:

I just couldn't find a proper build that'd suit this playstyle. Most of the builds with storm in general seem to be built towards more of a tankermind playstyle using provoke and intentionally drawing all the aggro on themselves.

Do you guys know any builds that utilize that kind of playstile? or at least that aren't geared towards being a tankermind?

Any help or tips would be really apprecciated. ^_^

    Many Thanks in advance.

  7. Nah, It's just that I've played mostly melee characters by now and on the few ones that used ranged attacks I kinda just happened to have the spaces left for the fighting pool because there wasn't enough that i desperatly wanted and couldn't get if I take it.

But I also just realized that my dominator with whom I took the fighting pool still has less res and def values than this corruptor without it, and he's still doing fine.

  8. Thanks a whole lot, you're awesome!

Always thought i'd had to have the fighting pool, that it would be mandatory for every build regardless of the class you play, just like the Fitness Pool was in every build back then, but I'll totally gonna go for this build and give it a try without the fighting pool. ^_^

    • Thanks 1
  9. So this is the build I came up with, I've also switched to soul mastery but I guess it still needs a bunch of editing.

There are just so many powers that I'd like to take (Night Fall would be one of them) but I always find myself running out of choices. 😕

  10. Hi,

so I've recently started a Dark/Dark corruptor and I'm planning on getting thr Dark ancillary pool for him later on.

The only Problem that I'm having is that I just can't seem to come up with a good build on mids to work towards. T_T

Do I even need softcapped defenses and ressistances for a character like this? I have mostly experience with melee characters so that's what I tried to go for.

Most if not all */Dark builds I've seen also have Howling Twilight, which I intend to skip because I get nothing out of it if I don't play in teams and I want him to be as visble as possible in solo play.  (I play mostly solo)

Does anyone, by any chance have a Dark/Dark/Dark build lying around that they are willing to share?

    It wouldn't matter if it's cost efficient or not, I just need something to work towards because all apparently that I come up myself with are crappy builds that barely manage to softcap s/l. ;_;

Any help would be very much appreciated. 😧

  11. Thanks a lot for your Inputs.

It's even hard to decide if I'd choose any of the sets thematically because both totally fit the concept of the character that I'm trying to make. 😕 (a Zombie/ Mad Harvester type of character accidentally brought back to live after having been lynched, cursed and crucified like a scarecrow on the fields by the village's inhabitants that where stricken by the same mysterious madness that guided his hands when he poisonined the crops and killed the cattle, all back in the time when the settlers arrived and there was no paragon city... yeah, grimdark, I know, feel free to salvage it 😄).
But yeah, Plants would fit because he... well, he is/was a harvester and he kinda looks like a scarecrow, and Dark would fit because he is evil (perhaps possessed), and a zombie.
Fear would probably also fit the concept and possession is probably one of the most awesome looking powers I've ever seen but then again I perfer a flesh eating Plant over a foggy dog. 😧

Another question that came to my mind would be about the carrion creepers, are they sort of a pet? I mean I've read about it and that it sort of acts like a pet, an invisible one that actually casts the creeper patch, does it follow you?

And can you make it permanent?

  12. Hi there,

so I finally decided on playing a dominator again since the only other that i've had was a fire/ice back on live.

I really want to try out the Savage set and can't decide on the primary set.
Savage seems kinda melee oriented to me and the To Hit-Debuff probably helps with keeping one save, but I've seen great builds on both plant/savage and dark/savage domis and I really wanted to try out plant control someday.

Does anyone have experience on both of these sets and could tell which one of them better synergizes with the savage primary?

    Many thanks in advance. ^_^

  13. Thanks a lot for your Input.

I do have around a billion to spend currently from I guess doing regular content, converting stuff to sell it and not having any recent expenses.

Idk if thats enough to build a decent farmer right away or if I should see it more as a long term goal but I think I'll go with a rad/fire/mu brute then. I was just a little hesitant to do so because I never planned on making a character for only that purpose and therefore looked for something more original, especially for a character that I would also like to play even when I don't intend to farm.

Ill just use him to get the money to propper outfit my spines/bio/brute alter on then. ^_^

  14. So I first off the only Brute I've ever created was a stone/stone Brute on live which I leveled to... 20 I guess?
Now I really like the look of spines and the bio armor parts, and having near to none experience on how I wanna build my brute I went for the looks only.

He is now 43 and when it comes to doing just the regular content I don't regret picking this combination at all.

However, as for now I don't have a single character dedicated for farming purposes so I wonder If I could also build him towards AE farming (perhaps making a second build for exactly that purpose that I can switch to).

I guess if I'd ask if he can compete with spines/fire or rad/fire the answer would probably be no, judging from the fact that all the farming builds I saw all over the forums are nearly always spines/fire or rad/fire, and I obviously can't do any fire farms with bio afaik.

But whar about lets say... smashing/lethal farm maps or anything around that corner?

Is spines/bio viable of being a decent farmer or would it more likely be a pushover when it comes to fighting hordes of bosses?
