  1. I can agree it's easier with it but not everyone has or even wants discord. Discord was released 6 years ago while this trial was released 8 years ago. Unless you had teamspeak or skype, it was pretty much text. Have you tried using incand to tp everyone to the last AV standing as a last resort type thing? But obviously you'll have to be quick, alternatively 1 incand per team.  Or maybe you could pull the 2 AVs to Chimera when he does his teleports. Perhaps you could combine these strategies with those 3 defined players. I've had plenty of failures getting this badge, so I just resigned myself and let others do it instead.

  2. Bear with me here but I have too much questions!

What If... Our character got to Excalibur before Black Swan. Would Pendragon become the true hero he was mean't to be?

What If... Tyrant or any other ITrial AV won and all incarnates died?

What If... CoH never shut down and Cryptic Studios was still here? How expanded would the CoH Lore be? What would we be fighting in the coming storm?

What If... Praetoria successfully conquered Primal Earth?

What If... Hamidon destroyed Primal Earth and met his Praetorian counterpart who also destroyed Praetoria?

What If... The Battalion invaded while the first Rikti War was happening? Would it be a 3 way war?

What If... All the dark Gods of the Banished Pantheon (Lughebu, Rambetu, Mot, M'teru, Tomdala, Ullutay) escaped the Spiritual Plane? Would they become the Dark Pantheon rather than the Banished Pantheon

What If... Shiva survived getting blown apart by the Nuclear assault in 1989? Would we have a Shiva Raid?

What If... Statesman was british instead? Would his hero name be "UnitedKing?"

    Phew...

    @DarkWings just as I suspected.

Install this, and Piglet should start working for you:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

I actually have a similar version installed but it's the 2015-2019 version, I can't install the one you linked to as it says there is another version of the product installed. I downloaded the 2012 one instead but I still get the same errors. Gonna try uninstalling both and using the one you linked.

EDIT: I uninstalled both and installed the one you linked but that didn't work either, so I reverted back to the 2015-2019 version. Perhaps I'm missing Visual Studio 2019, it's a prerequisite in that Ourodev link.

@DarkWings can you please drop into this thread a screenshot of the three errors?

I suspect that it's missing external C++ libraries that are required. And if you don't have those libraries, the program wouldn't run whether you tried to run my compile, or if you compiled it yourself.

As a programmer, I probably already have virtually EVERY standard library installed on my system, which may explain why I didn't get the errors.

Extract the pigg files in your game's client directory. I believe for CoH Homecoming the default is "C:\Games\Homecoming\assets\" and all of it's subdirectories. I believe the most current and up to date tool for doing this is Ourodev's Piglet, which you have to sign up for an account with them to access the code to compile your own copy. Or, if you want to trust me, here's a link to a compiled version of the 64 bit binary and required libraries.

I'm grateful for this post but just so you know your compiled version doesn't work, I got three warnings, something about three .dll files missing.

  6. There is always that one guy who complains that they didn't win. You cannot win them all, I mean I haven't won a single costume contest since I first started playing on this game. I don't attend costume contests to win, in fact I like to predict who will win and it makes things more interesting for me. If I win, I win, it's not like it's end all be all.

I attend costume contests to have fun, see how creative our community can get, don't stifle your creativity because you lost.If the judges don't have the same tastes as you or you feel like the CC is the lottery, so what? The moment you stop enjoying the costume contest is the moment you lost.

You think that takes effort? Well can you imagine painting your butt off for years worth of effort just to lose an art contest and then you swear to never paint again? Compare that to this CC, you make a costume that's what? 1 day of effort or a week or 2 of effort and then you quit and swear to never join a CC? I can't find anything more insulting. Anyways I'm here to congratulate the winner AND losers.

  7. Been playing for a while but I'm starting to enter the mod scene. I installed some mods just fine, so I search for some mods on the forum and came across this one:

    https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/23701-titanman-animation-sprite-ui-texture-mod-tutorial/?tab=comments#comment-285551

But I can't install it. I used the browse for mod to install, choose the mod I just downloaded above (Login screen UI Mod) but when I go back to CoH Modder, it says "Unable to locate mod." Prehaps it's not formatted for the program? This is on Windows 10

  8. How do you pull AVs without your pets getting in the way especially in incarnate trials? When I try to pull Nightstar or Siege in BAF, pets just attack everything. I could just use goto or stay and make sure they are in Bodyguard range but that seems like a hassle if a tank could pull better with taunt.

  9. Now with the group fly improvements, pets can now attack pylons in MSR and the Dropship and now they will be viable in Hami, I've been thinking of starting a second build on my character, with more of a support focus.

Ok, so along with group fly, I got teleport target for easy team rezzing and Vengeance. For incarnates Clarion is an obvious must have. I'm trying to reach 75% in as much resistance categories as I could, currently only Negative is at 75% but I can't figure what slotting I could do to up those other resistances.

  10. We already have a Emotes popmenu for players as seen here and I realized our pets are left out and to be honest typing out the emotes makes me lazy to attempt a comedy, drama skit with emotes and sometimes they can't use some emotes (Demons) and so they sit there looking silly when the emote doesn't work on them.

So this where these popmenus comes in. It's adapted from Extor's Emotes Popmenu which I linked above and replaced all /ems with petsay and petsayall. I've also added a "Master and Pet" emotes, so you can slap your own pet! The petsayall popmenu affects all pets, if you want more granular control choose petsay which affects one targetted pet. You can go for both even!

Download and place the .mnu file in <CoH Install>\data\texts\English\menus directory. If you don't have one then you may create one. Then enter the game and type in chat: /macro (name) popmenu (name of popmenu) or /bind (key) popmenu (name of popmenu).

    Petsayall (Affects all pets):

    PetSayAll.mnu

    DemonSayAll.mnu

    RobotSayAll.mnu

    Petsay (Affects only targetted pet):

    PetEmotes.mnu

    DemonEmotes.mnu

    RobotEmotes.mnu

Have a new version of my Rikti Mothership Raid for HC!

This one has been cleaned of "Rush the Rikti" names.  Since RtR was a Protectorism.  And HC isn't Protector.

Also removed the 14 redundant zone invites since the days of asking a dev to spawn you a new zone are effectively done.
Now, you have invite menus for 2 options.

    • Zone
    • Instanced

Also replaced @Hyperstrike with $name so you don't need to go in and edit it yourself.

Still trying to figure out if there's a way to auto-insert zone-name.  Like $zone (my digging into this is VERY cursory at this point).

Note: You WILL have to edit your bind button.  Since the script/mnu is now MSRHC.  Simple enough to do though.

    1. Right click on the macro button.
    2. Select EDIT
    3. Change the name of the menu from RTR to MSRHC
    4. Reboot the game.

    MSRHC.mnu 9.96 kB · 2 downloads

Thanks for the update! I've just added it in.

That is not what Color Theory means

According to Wikipedia this is the definition of color theory although the concept is much more broad than this:

    Quote

"Color theory is a body of practical guidance to color mixing and the visual effects of a specific color combination. There are also definitions (or categories) of colors based on the color wheel: primary color, secondary color, and tertiary color."

However, there is a section about Monochromatic colors:

    Quote

"The monochromatic formula chooses only one color (or hue). Variations of the color are created by changing the value and saturation of the color."

Don't forget that this cc is about using ONE main color, along with shades of said color so this technically fits under a small subset of color theory. One major caveat is that minor accent colors are allowed in this cc. However calling this a color theory themed cc is a bit too broad as color theory is a bit more complex than it actually seems, when it's technically a Monochromatic themed cc. Nonetheless definitions don't matter as long as everyone had fun and that's all that matters in the end. Congrats to the winners!

Okay. One of the runner-ups on Everlasting was in a full set of retro sci-fi. That isn’t a player designed costume. I know these things are opinions but you don’t need an opinion to spot originality. Or lack of it.

These events keep on getting more disappointing. I love that they’re held, but it seems that not much discussion is had amongst the GMs before the events are held. Maybe I’m wrong, but the results don’t quite show it all the time.

Awarding a win to a glitched costume. Outfits that are most busy than a Jackson Pollock. Miscommunication on judging and theme (Animals, for example). Pre-Made costumes being finalists. City of Heroes has one of the best costume generators out there. Period. These CCs deserve a bit more... I don’t know.... more! Right?

I feel like players should volunteer to be able to judge alongside GMs for a more diverse opinion. I always see people looking at the costumes but not participating in the CC and they could help spot glitched costumes too. Also pre-made costumes and using the same costume in multiple contests shouldn't be allowed, that's not creativity, it's lazyness.

  14. Ah, I see I definitely didn't get the power at level 4, I was well past 15 by the time I got it. I learn something new everyday, I always thought as long as the exemplared level is higher (15 in this case) than the minimum level of a power (in this case SS is level 4), you could use it.
