    Lol...back when the game was live the forums were full of threads about people cloning known characters. They would go on for pages. I saw a clone of "Storm" in Talos Island once get genericed right in front of me. The player then threw a hissy fit in chat that was pretty funny. (at least to me)

     

    Just the other day I saw "Power Girl" (again in Talos). That was the first direct clone I've seen in some time.

    I didn't know you could make custom maps. Is it a tool in the MA?

  3. I've looked but I haven't found it yet, so I thought I'd ask...is there a fight animation for NPCs? Like the one you see with two NPCs "fighting" but they aren't really hurting each other. (and they usually decide to attack you together if you get too close).

However, unless I missed something, there is no explanation for why the player cannot fight her. Being pummeled by heroes is usually non-optional.

     

    Ah, I see what you mean. The idea is supposed to be that she leaves before the player can stop her because the minions are attacking. But her escape won't trigger until the minions are defeated. I did do sort of a fix to that.

    I changed it so as soon as you defeat the minions by her it triggers an ambush and more of them run in to attack you. I thought about letting the player fight her and setting her to run off when taking damage. (with the same dialogue) and then using an ambush. I'll have to test it though.)

    Yikes. I should have double checked that. But I fixed it now. I also fixed a few minor dialogue quirks and tweaked mission one a bit.

    It turns out that caltrops count not just as enemy spawns, but as members of the assigned encounter group. Meaning that if that encounter's completion requirements are set to 'entire group needed to complete' instead of 'only boss needed to complete,' then the fight won't conclude -- and the mission won't progress -- until the caltrops despawn. Since just about every encounter in the arc featured caltrops, this got very confusing until I figured it out. I don't know if this is new or common knowledge or what, I've never seen it happen before. I'd recommend either switching out the encounter parameters to only watching the boss, or taking caltrops out of the powersets, which is probably the quicker solution. I was hunting all over for the fleeing enemies I must have missed, only for the objective to complete a minute later.

    And speaking of our buddy King Gold, head to the enemy group he's a part of, right click and hit 'don't auto spawn' so he doesn't accidentally show up again in another encounter. Poor guy's had enough. Solid work either way.

     

    I didn't know that either! That actually explains what I "thought" was lag in a few play tests!

     

    Thanks for the heads up about King Gold. The servers are down for maintenance, but as soon as they're back up I'll fix that! You should only have to beat him up once!

It's very plausible and well written; it ould hae fit right in as a 20-30 arc from Lou Pasterelli or Lars Hansen.     Thanks! I'm still going through to fix any spelling errors. (I spent a lot of time doing that but I knew I'd miss a few...guess I gotta recheck my work!)

  8. It's been awhile since I used the MA, but I've had this story written for some time. But I've made this as a heroic mission that is sort of an origin story for a red side alt. 

     

    Love and Robots

    " Queen Cyborg has been turning ordinary citizens into her robotic slaves. Now she's seeking the scientist that created her. But is she seeking his knowledge to transform more people into cyborgs or something more unsettling? (SFMA Looking for feedback)"

    Yeah I just tested it and hilariously, the "dead" person got up and ran out of the door!

     

    My original plan was to have the player enter an empty place (in this situation a small Arachnos base) find the body, and even if they can't click on it, click on a nearby object which triggers an ambush of troops thinking the player is the killer. I can make that work, except for the empty map part. It looks like the MA won't let me set up the map with no "enemies" already in it.

    No, I need the "friendlies" to leave (or just despawn) when the body is found and the "friendlies" are the ones that committed the murder (and frame the player for it). I don't know if its going to work if they don't despawn or leave.

    Hmm...I might have to tweak my script a bit but I might be able to make that work. 

  12. Is there a way place a custom NPC and make the look dead w/o using the body bag prop? 

    I have an NPC that shows up for a few seconds in one mission just to tell the player something. In the next mission I need to show the NPC has been murdered and the player finds the body. 

  13. I tried your arc, and it was fun. I love the first map. (What map was that?) I agree with Cranebump about the mission exit thing, though. 

     

    I don't know if it'll help, but I usually type stuff out in MS word and run spelling/grammar checks there. It doesn't catch everything and believe me, I've had to go back and fix my own errors many times. I think "upbringing" is one word, though.

     

    I like the "Roadkill Gang". Good mission.

    There is not an easy way but it is doable you would create a mob and place them  when they activate you can set to run. I did it with a statue that came to life and gave a message  then fled yelling beware beware but I'm not sure how many you can have I'll check and edit  this post.

     

    I created the basic idea mob using citizens1-54  I selected ally no powers attacks etc Run away stance  yelling ahhh in text. 

    So yes you can do it but it will take time Have fun with it.

  15. I know things are different from when the game was live, but I was working on a new alt and as always I get to the "go to Perez Park and X number of X" mission. Then I realized no one sends you to the Hollows anymore. I can't even remember what missions were there, but I remember having to go there way back in the day. 

     

    Out of curiousity I logged in with another character and used my base portal to get there. There wasn't anything going on. Is there even a mission in that place nowadays? 

     

    (and speaking of things being different, I exited a mission in Talos confident that nothing in the street could harm me when I was attacked by a blob and a basketball.)
