I put this Fire/Kin arrangement together with the goal of handling +4/8 Freakshow, solo, without inspirations.

Without inspirations it takes a while, but doable. With Inspirations, progress is faster. There are some things included

(and some excluded) just because I like certain powers. Most notably, Smoke. The end result is a Fire/Kin that "I"

enjoy playing. I'm sure some will like it and some won't, but here it is:

A Fire/Kin without Flashfire and Bonfire? And no Hasten?

LOTG is like a proc, kind of like +END proc in performance shifter.  They stack to 5, then another 5 of any 7.5% as IO bonuses.

I take tactics over assault, piddle damage bonus you can get from a red.

    ....

    Good to know. 🙂

I would never bother with assault on a brute. 😮

One of my next projects will be a savage brute. Or maybe a tanker?

Change your slotting and put the Superior Frozen set into Discharge; Discharge is terrible IMO because its a narrow cone and most baddies will be in PBAoE range of everything else so the only time to use it is outside the Burn mosh pit..  Put Ragnarock and Positron into the Ball Lighting/Electrifying fences; reason is the 16 target cap without giving enough mag to immobilize with Superior Frozen +Chance/Immb a boss outside Burn radius.  You slot damage procs as the 6th slot in Ball/Elec-Fenses; should use the Annihilation  -Resist and add some utility; they don't stack together but you can just stack corpses as you can continue to cast it nearly every time.

I'm thinking about going back to Spine Burst instead of Discharge. More Damage and all around my toon.

I already have the 75 % Chance for -res in interface (not the dot - my bad). More -res will not stack to that afaik.

You 4 slot tempture protection, using a wasted slot with Unbreakable +HP.  Your resisting every 100 damage = 10 points taken, every extra tick is like 1-5 damage.  Move that unbreakable to Consume and get +7.5% recharge out of 6 slots of Mocking Beratement.

This 4th slot is just about not knowing where to put it elsewhere. 😛

There are 5 LOTG +7,5% recharge in that build, so the 6th slot in consume will not count because of the rule of five. Or is my information wrong?

    Quote

4 slotted weave is a waste, put one into Maneuvers and use 3 slots.  But yeah, its really tiny unless you +5 enhance boost it and then again its tiny

They are both not so good. 😞 But some more accuracy looks more alluring to me with all those +4 bosses that want to be hit. But in both ways it won't really matter.

    Quote

Gaussian +BU is wasted in Tactics, unreliable and should be in BU itself.  Unless your AFK, then it wouldn't really matter.

Health - 2 Numina's is a waste, +regen is redundant unless its AFK and if you do build up enough regen even +15-18 hp a second is enough with Burn on autofire; at that point is just DPS tanking and innate regen; my farmers don't really need it unless the tohit rolls go bad through the defense.

I am mostly afk farming, so the Gaussian is better in tactics.  And the +reg is not to underestimate while afk farming. Before she had some more +reg, she was sometimes faceplanted. 😮

    Quote

Stamina - the endurance enhancement is useless, .2 more recovery and you are barely over 2/3s of that unless you got sprint running.  My SM/Fire can run nearly every toggle but tough, sprint/athletics is Energizer bunny fast.  Turning of Plasma Shield saves you endurance as well, Fire Shield + Temperature protection puts you at 90% resist cap alone.

yes, Stamina is not very useful, but i don't see a good alternative for this slot. Mid's is telling me, Fire Shield + Temperature protection alone are only at 85%.

I really appreciate your ideas and i'm going to play with those recommendations in Mid's, to see, what's coming up with that. 🙂

Sorry about my bad english! I left school a looooong time ago. 😉

  4. I'm somewhat late, but here is my build. Fire Defense is softcapped, with lots of recharge and not as expensive as the builds above. The Ragnarok in Ball Lightning is not necessary. There are some slots for +health and +regeneration for afk farming, wich are also not necessary when active farming, so there is some room to put them somewhere else.

Lunge as a ST is useless for a farmer and i find myself never using Spine Burst, because the animtion time is to long.

  5. I've done that "Nemu build" now and she is absolut amazing. I've only left out those hamidons. I don't use the immob and they are way to expensive for the benefit.

Depending on the type of enemy she easily rushes solo through +4 /x8 missis and in a team i tanked with here the psychic clocks, because the invul tank and the sentinal weren't able to do the task. 😮

    Thank you so much again!

You may have the force feedback proc enabled. click the yellow dot next to negatron slam to turn it off. You are close to perma-hasten, but not quite there, a few FF procs will get you closeer.

Tactics isn't for acc, tactics is for blind and a personal preference. I tried to fit in answers to common and annoying status effects and I absolutely detest being blinded. For this build, tactics provides +to Hit which helps your snipe as well. So win/win there.

Yes, being blinded is very annoying and the duration is sometimes horrible. Good point!

I will respec now and build this char up. Thank you again!

  7. Wow! This looks amazing! (and very expensive 😁) Thank you so much.

Question 1:  the recharge seems to be so high, isn't one slot in hasten enough?

Question 2: there is so much accuracy from all those sets, isn't tactics unnecessary)

You can get temp jetpacks from the P2W vendor, they are quite cheap and will last you a long time.

I consider the ability to stealth through mobs more important and practical than having to turn on fly every once in a while to get some vertical.

I wouldn't ditch beta decay, but I would defer the pick until much later.

Here is the real tip I'm going to give you. This has nothing to do with builds.

Learn to embrace the strengths of blaster secondaries, in this case the fact that /atomic encourages you to melee. Learn how and when to use those powers. You can hide behind range blasting/hover and play a sentinel wannabe with 1/4 the protection or you can learn to really play a blaster and be a force to be reckoned with.

If you can play a hyper aggressive melee blaster successfully, then chances are you would have more mastery of this game and fundamentals than 90% of people that play it.

Okay, i will give super speed a try. 🙂

I've had two blappers on live and they where very fun to play and i was very successful with both of them.

An energy/energy blapper long before sets where a thing. In a team she was hunting the bosses and avoided the aoe knockbacks. Imo only a few enemies can floor the whole damage output of a team like scattering the mobs around by uncontrolled knockback.

The other one was a fire/elec and this girl was such a devastating force! 😻

Both of them have only seen single origin enhencemants, but haven't been floored very often 🙂

Here is a new plan for a more blappery style. I've avoided the positronic fist, because the damage seems not good enough for such a long animation. 😞

45% ranged def; both resistence enhancer; lots of recharge, Posi cell with procs and also some in the radioactive cloud. I haven't tryed the cloud, so i don't know, if it is worth.

Instead of charged armor i'm thinking about the scorpion shield. Having some defense in melee seems to be a good idea?

You have to choose between flares and fire blast and typically people take flares because it has a better DPA than fire blast.

    Thanx for this tip! 🙂

I've got to do some testing on this, because fire blast feels faster in the animation.

  10. 3 hours ago, Nemu said:

Beta decay is not doing much for you then and I doubt taking it that early give you any benefit when you exemp down

Hasten has 3 slots, 2 50+5 IO is enough

You don't need fire blast and flares, pick one and dump the other

Posi cell can be proc monstered.

Put a Kismet ACC in combat jumping or another defense toggle that's always on so you have 95% chance to hit vs +4s

Super speed instead of super jump for full invis with a stealth IO in sprint

If you plan to exemp down at all your power selection can be tuned a little better with more attacks, there's no need to grab weave by level 22

There is no reason not to find ways to fit in both +res uniques from reactive defense and shield wall

You have the blasters wrath ATO but no defiant barrage. Both Blaster ATOS are very good and you should find ways to 6 sloth both

I'd try to fit the -res procs in, there are ways to get range softcap and still fit those in and proc monster posi cell.

Wow! So much info and input! Thank you so much. 🙂

Flares is first of all a set mule and also  usable while mezzed.

Beta Decay is only for the moments, when i'm in melee range, like running into the mob for inferno. But not really necessary.

Which other powers would be a good choice instead of flares and Beta Decay?

I don't like super speed that much. No vertical movement. I'm thinking about hoover and fly. 😛

I will play a little bit more with mid's.

More input and tips are welcome. 😎

What's your game plan with this build? Shoot from range? How do you plan to use your melee stuff? Are those just mules for set bonuses or do you actually intend to use them?

I'm shooting mainly from range. The melee stuff is for set muling and if somebody comes closer. Atom Smasher is a nice combination with inferno.  But first of all they are set mules.

  12. She hits the 50 now and is really fun to play, so i want to spend some more inf to push her a little bit more.

This is the plan by now. Hitting the 45% ranged defense was the first goal.

    Any other finetuning? 🙂

  13. /dark will be very strong for soloing. But if you're running with a team in the late game, /dark feels almost useless. Everybody in the team has enough defense, so nobody will benefit from all those -to hit powers. The animations are very long and the fight is allmost done, before you can get your powers going.

Every team will love a /kin! Faster recharge, lots of endurance and allmost everybody is fighting at damage cap. Fire/kin is also very fun, fast and safe to play solo.

No problem. As Dark Dove says above DDR is very useful for defence based builds. Super Reflexes has the ability to cap this at 95% if the passives (Agile, Dodge and Lucky) are slotted with enough defence. This will greatly reduce the ability of enemies to remove your primary means of survival but you still have to be careful of enemies that use big to-hit buffs, they can still get around your defences. Devouring Earth crystal emanators, Nemesis stacking vengeance and Rularuu eyeballs are the worst offenders here.

If I was going to only take one purple set for this build I'd probably take the Armageddon set in Shatter. Shatter is a hugely useful power for War Mace as it features in both the best single target attack chain and your aoe chain. Basically you should be using it all the time so making it do as much damage as possible is a good idea.

I agree about putting Practiced Brawler on auto rather than Hasten. This is what I do with clickie mez protection as it's up more often and the consequences of it sitting idle are more serious.

Taking all the purples out apart from Armageddon I'd maybe do something like this:

Hasten isn't quite perma but if you take Ageless destiny that will more that fix that and it will also help with any endurance problems remaining. I prefer radial unless I am desperate for end as it provides more debuff resistance on top of that already provided by Super Reflexes and Focused Accuracy.

Do try putting procs in your attacks once you've got the basic sets in place if you can afford them - 5 slotting with one set using the proc and an extra proc from another set can provide a decent damage boost over 6 slotting a set. The trick is to pick and choose which pieces you use to get the enhancement you need. In this build for example Clobber needs decent recharge slotting to get a gapless Jawbreaker->Clobber->Shatter chain so I've picked all the Crushing Impact pieces with recharge in them.

Anyway, apart from the endurance issues this combination is pretty forgiving build wise. Super Reflexes is pretty simple to hit the positional softcaps with and War Mace just wants recharge and enemies to beat up!

Thank you so much for all this advide! 🙂

I'm going to try this build. This looks nasty. 😁

But why didn't you put crushing impact in Pulverize? The +Recharge will not stack anymore?

//Edit:  And this combination is very forgiving build wise AND very fun to play. Lots of damage mitigation and "attack feedback" from all those stuns and knockdowns. It's nice to see the effects of your attacks and most attacks are pretty fast.

DDR is defense debuff resistance.  It means when an enemy debuffs your defense, it will have less impact on you.  It's a helpful stat vs. some of the more dangerous enemy types.

+5 means using Enhancement Boosters (which you can buy from the AH, or find in Super Packs, or through I think merits).  It allows you to increase the effectiveness of an enhancement by +1 level per booster used, up to +5.  So a level 50 set enhancement with five boosters acts like a level 50+5.

Alpha slots, when you get to higher tiers, ignore enhancement diversification values to some extent (read the powers themselves to see by how much per tier).  This means you can push far beyond the normal damage % enhancement value than you would normally be able to with just enhancements, which makes it an attractive use of the Alpha slot, though the Alpha slot can be used for other purposes, damage is the most common use because you can take care of other issues such as defense and resistances with IO sets easily (case by case still, though, this isn't an always situation).

The economy on Homecoming is very forgiving, don't count out expensive builds, they aren't actually very expensive with minor effort and time investment.

Defense debuff resistance is not new to me, but all those abbreviations are somewhat confusing. 😮

Ah, these +5 on defense will push the ddr. Good to know!

Ok. Musculature is the way to go. :A

It's a bit more expensive with the purples and ato's etc. I dropped Mu for Energy - War Mace is a pretty self sufficient set for aoe (particularly at perma hasten levels of recharge) and doing that will help out with the end issues and free up the alpha to take musculature instead (radial if extra end mod is needed). You may have concept reasons for using Mu though? I also dropped Bash; with the recharge available in the build you should be able to use Jawbreaker->Clobber->Shatter as a single target attack chain so even Pulverise is basically a mule. Putting more defence in the passives gets DDR closer to the cap - if you +5 a couple of them it will get there. You could also free up a slot from somewhere to mule a second pair of Blistering Cold in Brawl to cap the slow resistance.

    Hi and thank you!

This build looks really nice, but it is way too expensive for me. One purple set costs more than my whole build. Only one of those purples will be possible.

But there are some really good ideas in there! I've taken some of them and made a new build with a lot more recharge and hasten. Hasten still has a downtime roundabout 10 seconds, but this is not such a bad issue, because hasten will be not the autopower. (practiced brawler is more important imo)

Mu was not as a concept and just for more aoe-damage. 🙂

I don't understand this one (my english is very bad 😞

"Putting more defence in the passives gets DDR closer to the cap - if you +5 a couple of them it will get there."

What's the meaning of "DDR" and "+5"?

Isn't the Alpha "musculature" almost negated by ED?

    This is the new plan:

3.5 PPM @71.75 dmg for that one. this will help, credit to/courtesy of a longtime friend, @macskull : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vd4ZZd1jfhOzdZZkGxC9O0NN5G0T1EdWPu_XRrV6s0U/edit#gid=905771942

imo, procs are worth it in farming. esp if your build is at the limit already & can't add dmg any other way. i tend to get them cheap from lowball bids, but you can also craft the lowest lvl avail (30k vs 500k), or find an odd level where the bucket favors converting from a different (cheaper) set.

I bought these procs for all my scirocco' derwish and the positron blasts. And i can see them ticking, while standing in the mob with just those two damage toggels. Way more often, then i thouht. Nice

    Thank you! 🙂
