In the build I have the offensive opportunity attack 3 slotted just as a mule and to use for offensive opportunity if I want it. But I never end up using it. I could easily swap it out for a travel power and 3 slot it for some extra defenses to go higher than it is, move the slots somewhere else. There are lots of options. just keep defense at 45 min, acc high enough to hit, and global recharge high enough to maintain the attack chain.
Am I blind? Every attack i see you having in the build is 6 slotted....

Here is a question I have. So say you take a nasty hit with SR. How do you heal? Since SR doesnt have a heal, something that has always "scarred" me about SR

On a Brute at least the squishy depends. I was doubtful but a friend showed me how their Bio character plunged into two groups of +4 ITF spawns and it took a minute for them to be killed while surviving solely on over 100 HP per second, not fighting back, no clickies used.
Now I need that bio guide to teach me....where is Obi Wan Bionobe?

I disagree that Bio is super squishy, though I'll say upfront that it takes a pretty sizeable investment to take full advantage of it. If you can afford the winter & scrapper IOs & do some smart slotting (divide the ATO that gives 5% S/L def as a 3-set into 2 powers for one), & pick up the Barrier destiny you can get softcapped to all the mainstream damage types (S/L/F/C/E/N). Layering that over some decent regen & a very good Absorption shield (my shield is about 1k when my max HP is around 1700-1800, lasts for 30s & recharges at about the same time) makes for a pretty tanky character. It is relatively weak to the old CDF problem, but that isn't out of the ordinary overall.
Ohhhh great. Now I have to "think" jeeez 😄

yeah 2nd this. I just made on "Burning Roids" hehe
Need to get a build worked up on him
Got some people to payback with some incarn leveling in AE

That's a loaded question. I'm a long time blaster. I could likely make any build work. For me blasting is more about mentality than powerset. Basically dispense with the idea of being a ranged combatant. That's for Sentinels. Think of blasters as rat bastards. Saboteurs capable of doing massive damage as long as they can get in and out of combat upright. It's a game of figuring the odds, knowing when to retreat, and knowing when you can survive ridiculous odds. You can't afford to make many mistakes, so situational awareness is a must. You have to know your opponents, use the environment and their AI against them. Know your own strengths, and don't be afraid to get close if it nets you an opportunity to do massive damage. Stealth is your friend. All my blasters use at least some stealth, and with some I aim for complete invisibility. It let's you survey the battlefield before engagement.
All that being said, my first blaster on live was FIRE/FIRE. And that for a noob was a huge mistake. I didn't know the game well, didn't understand blasters, and suffered mightily because that build has very little in the way of mitigation. Not a big deal for a pro... but to a noob? The face plants were numerous. The good news is YOU don't have that limitation. You've been playing the game so you're not going in blind. Being a squishy is going to be a bit of a shock to you, but you'll likely adapt. I'm going to suggest ICE/Energy Manip. And while there are better builds out there this combo gives you the ability to lock down enemies and then take them apart with high damaging melee attacks. Given your melee focused background I think you'll like the synergy.
Good luck.
Yeah I was thinking that was the way to go to. Just have to find/figure out a build

I have a DP/Inv. And it's a thing of beauty.
another interesting one.

Both probably. DP is nasty. With good enough recharge you can run a three attack single target rotation. Check out my dp/sr build post. I need to update it with my most recent changes but it's basically the same. Just a week ago I posted some nice pylon times in the scrapper pylon times thread. I think @nihilii
knows about dp/Regen. I got my concept from nihili iirc.OH Yes Id love to see that build

Always played Tanks/brutes/scrappers
Wanna try a blaster.
What would you all suggest?

Ok gotta figure this out....with my massive uber l33t mids skills (sarcasm im not just a user im a founding member of the club)
-
Shit I better not do bio then. Im not a smart man Jenny. I have a tendency to run in and swing away. Thats why I dont play Blasters and such...because the way I play it would be Plastered....as what I would be
-
Can someone explain to me how Bio armor works?
Im a bit confused I dont see a lot of capped resists or defenses on them so im curious

I think ideally you want */bio/soul, and one of the highest ST damage and ideally energy-dealing damage for the primary. /shield is also a good alternate with its layered survivability covering all and making for a strong base.
The big hurdles in soloing "everything":
- Ghost Widow's mag100 hold
- buffed Lord Recluse, until you can take the towers down. Got to deal enough damage to clear those towers/engineers and survive Recluse.
- taking on ~3 AVs at a time in the final LRSF fight; Penelope's unresistable(?) hold
- dealing enough DPS for a Goliath War Walker. You likely want a taunt aura, otherwise the buggers consistently walk away and nuke your DPS
- dealing enough DPS, having enough defense + energy resistance/regen against +4 Nictus Romulus (if going for +4/x8 ITF; not strictly necessary, but such a standard at this point thanks to Werner 🙂 it's easier to solo a +4/x8 ITF than a STF anyway)
The most common answer to these boil down to "deal enough damage to get through it before your luck runs out" (unless you mail yourself insps, at which point your luck can extend more or less indefinitely).
If you remove Master requirement from TFs, things also get easier as you can use temp powers.
I don't know if Lambda is soloable by a scrapper, unless we count mailed insps. The only recorded success that I can think of was @Dark Bladed on his prenerf TW/Bio using a truckload of mailed T3 reds. Lambda BAB looks easy from the outside, but unless you overpower him with 1500+ DPS it's a different story when you have to manage his jumps and uber resistance at low life with only so many pacifier grenades, on a timer to boot. Heck, even the very first War Walker guarding the elevators can be a hard DPS check, with its heal it's significantly tougher than the Goliath War Walkers in Tin Mage.OK so /bio and now to figure out a good primary
Dont know anything about using bio but hey nothing like a challenge
I thought TW sucked...am I wrong?
what about DM/bio?
-
IM just wondering if its better to have slightly lower resists for more defense...stop making me think! It hurts!! 😄

Rad/Dark is one of my favorite tanks - 1000 point perma-absorb, capped to high resists, virtually unlimited endurance, two-personal heals, one team heal, a no-crash T9, pretty high damage with Soul Drain and Meltdown, soft-capped defense - all these can be yours . . . with a good build. Here's mine:

------------Now what im wondering is I got rid of a lot of the defense changed a lot around and now almost everything is resistance capped...82.55 cold and 79.25 Negative
Is that resistance going up worth the loss of defense?
Also i linked it like that because I cant seem to link and long form anymore
-
Trying to cap out resists in mids is like trying to pull my teeth out with a spoon right now lo
Of course I am sick and tired with a massive headache so thats not helping lol
-
Oh if I make it im gonna go for broke like I do with all my characters. My friends think im crazy doing that but I have nothing better to do so why no

yeah working on builds with mids cant seem to get the resists where I want them. Of course I know shit about dark and what you should/should not take and how to slot it. NEVER done dark melee...but thinking about it.
Found I LOVE rad armor
Most OP solo scrapper that can do it all ? Is there such a thing?
