  1. Thank you for your sage reply, @KaizenSoze. I appreciate your knowledge of the subject. Your guide is a great read, too. I'm going to evaluate and refactor a bit, based upon your advice. I think I have the DDR issue resolved by having some native resistance, as well as Mystic Flight to disengage (a bit). The END issues, however, are pressing. I've tried to address those by getting Incarnations such as Musculature Total Radial Revamp, which combines both a damage buff and endurance modification into one, rather than just going pure damage with another Musculature. Still, those long fights with AVs and/or larger groups of mobs can wear down END for most ATs, and the Arachnos Widow is an END Piglet anyway. I'm going to have to address that issue, even if it means adding more base Stamina slots, and/or adding some primary END-augmenting Incarnates that I might be switching out during the TF at key times. Thanks for your review and suggestions.
  2. This is the Arachnos Widow build I'll be using to solo ITF at 0/8. Or, something very similar. Thanks to Stich for giving me some perspective on this one. Good Lord, I wish I could find your "@" tag... This is a build without figuring in the Incarnates. As it stands, in the mortal realms, it's got 82.65% Melee Defense, and, for one out of three minutes, it has 85% Res to 5 categories, with some stellar resists versus all else. Once the Incarnates are factored in, and with the addition of Accolades, this becomes a satisfying build. The issue that Stich had was that, without pets, AVs were difficult. I have to LOL at that, because I've seen Stitch play in PVE, and nothing was ever difficult. However, taking that sage advice into consideration, I devised a hybrid that could evolve the DPS (old term) such that, even without Incarnates, it would be enough to hypothetically wipe most AVs. We'll see about that. I'll go ahead and post such that anyone with the new MIDs can check out the insanity for themselves. As for my plot to Rule the World... we'll just have to see how much I have to cheat in order to get the rest of the ATs ready to defeat the ITF at a simple 0/8. Only the VEATs, the HEATs, and a lone MM elude me at this point.
  3. I have a copy of the original "mystery build". I might have edited it a bit, and I added the Incarnates. The D-Syncs in Sleet are the clue that it's part of the original, because it is unlikely that I would spend that much. I'll keep checking, and post it if I find the original. I do recall that, last week, a player on Excelsior commented that he had sold one of the D-Syncs for an exorbitant price, and this particular D-Sync is the one used in this build. So, there might be a connection.
  4. Solo ITF Completion With Plant Control/Psionic Assault/Ice Mastery Dominator. This time, a solo ITF completion with a Dominator. Standard +0/X8 settings. Nothing special, because I'm not special. This was an insane, tour-de-force of face-rolling, button-mashing insanity. Random, liberal use of some P2W powers to expedite the process. I'm not even daring to attempt a run at +4/8 using @Werner Rules. As always, these are clean runs with no deaths tolerated. I did run almost all of the major temp powers (including, at times, the Wedding Band), with the main four accolades in effect, and with all Incarnate powers at Tier 3. I burned Inspirations like mad for a time or two, when things were going South, and I was going North. Tactics/Strategy: Directly target the mobs surrounding the chicks on the first map. Upon exiting that map, directly fly up and over to the Sybil and engage the mobs around her. Doing this directly sometimes fools the encounter logic, causing the Kheldian ambush to fail. On the final maps, fly to the AVs immediately, and wipe them out. Then, proceed in reverse to clear the objects. You know the rest of the minutiae here. And, yes, these tactics still fit into the overall strategy. There was one case of DDR, which I resolved by disengaging and flying up for a moment. Then, diving back down, and delivering Death Glory in spades. I used Mystic Flight the entire time and remained in hover mode. I paid special attention, especially in the caves, to hover above casual melee contact. Like, at the top of the cave, looking down. There was virtually no down time on button pattern sequencing. All totally smooth the whole run. In extremis, actually. It got downright loco at times. The power of this character is comparable to that of the Defender with the mirror build. In other words, it's a beast. Perhaps even moreso. If this character were jacked up to T4 in everything, it might be the best one yet. (With the exception of the Defender. I think it might be the most powerful of all, thus far, and with all things considered.) The Quest continues... All I did to delta that particular build was decrease the unique HO/TO builds in Sleet, and reduce them to normally affordable constructs. Who can pay 375,000,000 per IO in that? 5. This time, a solo ITF completion with a Corruptor. Standard +0/X8 settings. Nothing special, because I'm not special. Only major delta from previous ATs was the use of a new computer and setup. This was attempt was with a Corruptor mirror of my Defender, with Fire Blast/Time Manipulation/Dark Mastery. Not surprisingly, I didn't have to use Inspirations, save for being lazy a time or two. In this particular case, the AVs decided to run, run, run, run away. So, I wasted some time dealing with their Happy Feet. There was not a single case of DDR. I used Mystic Flight the entire time and remained in hover mode. I paid special attention, especially in the caves, to hover above casual melee contact. There was virtually no down time on button pattern sequencing. All totally smooth the whole run. (Totally expected for someone like me, who is on the spectrum.) The power of this character is comparable to that of the Defender with the mirror build. In other words, it's a beast. My quest of making all ATs solo the ITF at 0/8 is a bit harder than it looks, even on "0" difficulty, and liberally using non-Master-of gimmicks galore. 6. This time, a solo ITF completion with a Blaster. Standard +0/X8 settings. Nothing special, because I'm not special. Using a modified and fully boosted synthesis of several posted builds, including one of @Linea's Blaster builds (which are built to be quite sturdy). I took a few slightly different vectors, and managed to wind up with a soft-capped DEF and RES combo, 1658 base Health, and perma-everything. Random, liberal use of some P2W powers to expedite the process. I'm not even daring to attempt a run at +4/8 using @Werner Rules. As always, these are clean runs with no deaths tolerated. Of particular note, this t00n was NOT min-maxed with full +5 boosts wherever possible. I did, however, run almost all of the major temp powers (including, at times, the Wedding Band), the main four accolades in effect, and all Incarnate powers at Tier 3. Not surprisingly, I didn't have to use Inspirations, save for being lazy a time or two. Tactics/Strategy: Directly target the mobs surrounding the chicks on the first map. On the final maps, fly to the AVs immediately, and wipe them out. Then, proceed in reverse to clear the objects. You know the rest of the minutiae here. There was not a single case of DDR. I know this, because, last night, I died rapidly 8 times in a row because I had not accounted for DDR. A few rapid adjustments today, however, totally resolved that issue, and I was once again virtually resistant to cascading defense reduction. I used Mystic Flight the entire time and remained in hover mode. I paid special attention, especially in the caves, to hover above casual melee contact. There was virtually no down time on button pattern sequencing. All totally smooth the whole run. (Totally expected for someone like me, who is on the spectrum.) Once I smoothed out the DDR deficit, this proved to be an exceptionally powerful character. In contrast to one of @Linea's builds, I managed to save about 240,000,000 by not slotting 2 Winter sets. I went economical. FWIW. Consider the ATs I have remaining with which to run this TF, it's only going to get harder from this point onward. The growing list: ITF Solo Solo 0/8 ITF. This is an extremely powerful and durable character, even if not at Tier 4 with all Incarnate Powers, or armed with all possible Accolades and Temp Powers. If you want to be a TankFender, contribute to any team with Buffs/Debuffs/Damage, or solo almost all content, I would suggest that this AT and build would fit that bill. 9. Well, at least this time I remembered to use my Incarnate powers. Took a lot longer than the other runs. No deaths allowed. Tactics and general strategy were similar to my other runs. The build is exactly as posted below, save that I had only the Incarnates listed below (and not those from the full build): T3 Destiny Ageless Partial Radial Invocation T3 Alpha Agility Partial Core Revamp Build Note: I meta-analyzed two dozen builds that had been posted on the forums, then created a hybrid of the best elements and attributes of the best builds. Geared, of course, for solo ITF play. Of particular note, the build, as it now stands, is still a bit end-heavy. It's also a bit damage-lite, so some sort of compromise must be made in order to optimize it down the road. The Ill/Rad is still a legit beast, especially with soft-capped Ranged Defense and S/L Resistance, perma-AM, and perma-PA. With more familiarity with this build on this TF, the time could be significantly reduced. (I was basically making things up as I went alone, which is par for the course.) I'll continue to see if I can defeat this TF on this basic level with all ATs. Then, if I'm not burnt completely out at that point, I'll raise the difficulty and go for some better times. 10. This time, a solo ITF completion with a Stalker. Standard +0/X8 settings. Nothing special, because I'm not special. Using one of @Linea's AE801 Stalker builds, only slightly modified. No need to reinvent this particular wheel, because it's about as close to perfect as it can get. BIG D'OH! Totally forgot to place my Incarnate powers on my power trays, so I didn't use them. I had run this t00n up the other day, giving it a few Vet Levels, picked out some Incarnates earlier today, then promptly forgot to add them to my UI. Random, liberal use of some P2W powers to expedite the process. As always, these are clean runs with no deaths tolerated. Of particular note, as with the Brute's run a few days ago, neither this t00n nor the Brute had earned any Accolade powers. The runs would have been much more efficient had they done so, I think. Taking down the first of the three Nictus AVs on the final mission was a stomach-churning experience. Very nearly didn't get it done. 11. Yes, my Pinky & The Brain grand scheme is to complete the ITF with all ATs. We'll see if that's even remotely possible or not. Might not be, but I'll still give it a shot. -void
  12. It's one of the best for this challenge because it provides superior defense with adequate resistance, plus a few innate goodies, such as a damaging AoE attack in the Shield Defense set, and a decent damage multiplying factor. I didn't want to become a one-trick pony by relying on Shield Defense for this, but that's been the general trend thus far. Thus far, I've completed the challenge with the following: ITF Solo Solo 0/8 ITF. Void1001 SD/EM Tanker Solo 0/8 ITF. Void0110 SD/SS Tanker Solo 0/8 ITF. Void2222 FB/INV Sentinel Solo 0/8 ITF. Void9100 DM/SD Scrapper Solo 0/8 ITF. Void7227 RM/SD Brute For my next trick, I'm fairly certain that I'm going to hit it with an EM/EA Stalker. We'll see if that holds out or not, once I wade deeper into that AT and power combo. -void
  13. Another ITF Solo, this time with a Brute. The scenario played out as it did with my Scrapper, Sentinel, and Tank solos, so I won't waste anyone's time by summarizing them. The Brute's time was a bit better than the times of the rest, save for the Scrapper; they were almost identical. Regarding one issue, there is a single Lessons Learned to observe: I was running too many toggles, even having an Incarnate power (Ageless Total Core Invocation) to boost power flow. My solution was to disable a few of the ones that weren't necessary, and proceed from there. Perhaps Tier 4 Incarnates would have helped resolve the issue, but none of mine were higher than Tier 3. The build is posted below. It's fairly efficient, save for its running too many toggles in a solo run. On a team with buffs? No problem.
  14. On my quest to learn more about this awesome game. Implementing progress check on select characters with a run versus the ITF Task Force, solo, and merely plain vanilla at 0/8. Using no other selectors, but sticking generally to the theme of no deaths, minimal usage of temp/P2W powers, and not playing with a full, maxed set of Incarnates. I have now completed the ITF Task Force solo with four different characters, across three different ATs (Tanker, Tanker, Sentinel, and Scrapper). This run was much more efficient than the previous runs, with the main contributing factor being a loss of some 10 minutes trying to account for all of the generals and their mob. I think it would be nifty to complete a solo ITF with all possible ATs, so I might give it a shot. Void9100 Dark Melee/Shield Defense Scrapper Data Points Tier 4 Hybrid Melee Core Embodiment Tier 2 Destiny Ageless Core Invocation Tier 3 Diamagnetic Partial Radial Conversion Tier 3 Alpha Musculature Total Core Revamp 58.68% Melee Defense 75% S/L Resistance 35% DDR Shadow Meld from Soul Mastery, one of the best defensive powers available Synopsis of ITF: There were no instances of DDR crashing. Several Inspirations were used, as I wasn't using higher settings for running the Task Force. No email backup was used. No other characters or external PTW forces were used, save for the Kinetic Dampener, the Wedding Ring, and Amplifiers. The strategy used the following tactics: Bull-rush the targets, pop AOEs, focus-fire healers down first, then focus-fire the biggest baddie, with the AOEs in the attack cycles whittling down the other baddies by attrition. This worked even on the AV fights. Sometimes they actively fled and aggroed more mobs, so I dealt with them, too, via AoE attrition. Lessons Learned: It's much easier when more Incarnate powers are added, and with them at max. Lore and Judgement would have made this much, much faster, as would having maxed out all of the other Incarnate powers. Also, keeping better track of required mob kills would help, as significant time is spent accounting for the necessary kills. The time would easily have been under an hour, were these variables resolved. Of course, still nowhere near ready to challenge at master level, as seven times through the ITF, total, hasn't quite given me the necessary reps to master it. Decent min/max build:

  15. Recalling your posted tactics for the harder runs, including the 801 series, I just went out and obtained this [Wedding Band], @Linea. I'm going to start adding it, and few other tricks, to my "10/10" rated characters.
  16. Thanks for sharing your build. It's strong. Looks like it would demolish a fire farm. Also, quite amusing to see your music conversation turn up in a screenie like that. -void
  17. Contrary to the common Zeitgeist, the Sentinel is a most excellent AT. While many believe it brings little to a team that other ATs can't provide more effectively, it is a robust and hard to kill AT, and it is perhaps one of the strongest ATs for solo or normal team play. With even an average build, the Sentinel is a Tank Mage, able both to blast and to withstand great physical damage. With a strong build, it is possible to perform unusual feats of strength, such as soloing the Imperious Task Force (ITF). After bringing a couple of Sentinels to 50, I still hadn't yet found a satisfactory "Tank Mage" build. So I decided to start scoping out the Veteran Sentinels I'd occasionally see around, check out their power selection and the effects of their IOs, and crunch some easy numbers. Fire/Inv stood out, with the most players at the highest vet levels from among the rest of the possible Sentinel combinations that I saw being played live. So I created a build that I thought would finally be the Tank Mage I'd been seeking: On a whim, and with little planning, I decided to try a run through the ITF at 0/8. Just a little test, and nothing more (like an @Werner or @Bill Z Bubba master run). Something I'd already put a few of my tanks through a few months back, and something with which I was relatively familiar as a gauge of nascent Incarnate strength. Void2222 Fire Blast/Invulnerability Sentinel Data Points Tier 3 Alpha Musculature Tier 3 Ion Core Judgement Tier 3 Diamagnetic Core Interface 45% Melee and S/L Defense 75% S/L Resistance Perma Dull Pain for max Sentinel HP of 2088 50% DDR Dark Mastery for Darkest Night, one of the best defensive powers available Synopsis of ITF: There were two instances of DDR crashing, which had to be mitigated via movement. Several Inspirations were used, as I wasn't using higher settings for running the Task Force. No email backup was used. No other characters or external PTW forces were used, save for the Kinetic Dampener, which was helpful during combat with energy-using mobs. The strategy used the following tactics: Bull-rush the targets, sink Darkest Night on the biggest bad guy, focus-fire healers down first, then focus-fire the Darkest Night baddie, with the AOEs in the attack cycles whittling down the other baddies by attrition. This worked even on the AV fights. Sometimes they actively fled and aggroed more mobs, so I dealt with them, too, via AoE attrition. I wasn't going for any speed records, or doing a solo "Master of..." I'm simply not that good. Yet. Still, it was quite a bit of fun, and it demonstrated to me what a true Tank Mage Sentinel is capable of. Hint: They're capable of quite a lot, especially if you are playing solo. Big Hat Tip to the creators of this AT. Once you find one that suits you, it's really fun to play. -void

  19. @Solarverse, are there any light saber sound mods available for Titan Weapons?
  20. I regret the thread necro, @Bill Z Bubba, but after reading many of your ITF threads, I decided to take the plunge. And it was fun. (Probably due to my being ignorant of the subtleties of the ITF prior to its refactoring; this is only my second, third, and fourth runs of it since I returned to Homecoming.) RUN 1: I created a hybrid of yours and @Werner's SD Tank. For my first run, I ran SD/EM, fully IO'd, with all of the four major accolades, but only one Incarnate, a T3 Alpha. I ran by normal rules only, because I know better than even to try at harder levels, or with many handicaps. This means 0/8, with neither bonuses nor handicaps for anyone. I employed the temp END power a few times, and popped a few blues along the way. However, with those exceptions, that's how I ran it. (The large INSPs on the screenie are leveling bonuses. I popped right there at the end.) Also, I lost 15 minutes on one map looking for the last general. Someone in Help guided me through how to deal with that. The most unusual delta here was my being able to directly attack the AVs, while paying no heed to the adds. The adds just eventually melted. Even the three Nictus AVs plus the final AV were herded together and whittled down. RUN 2: For this run, I mirrored the same conditions, as per above (all IOs, four major accolades, one T3 Alpha, etc.). This time I ran an SR/DM. It wasn't even hit very much, but it failed to take down the first AV due to damage constraints, so I cancelled that run. It's going to require damage boosting Incarnate powers, and external help (Lores, etc.), to get its damage up to AV-snuffing range (in comfortable time). RUN 3: I ran up an SD/SS Tanker. Same parameters. The single target damage was in the same ballpark as the EM's, overall. It did, however, have moments when the +RECH proc in its Hand Clap would add some very nifty damage spikes. Also, the crowd control from its multiple AoEs (procced Hand Clap, Foot Stomp, and Shield Charge) basically popcorned every Bad Guy near it, virtually all of the time, reducing the opportunity for them to try to damage my toon. This toon was also able to stack and whittle down the final AVs, right there at the top of the stairs, for all gathered to witness. The caveat here is that, during the final crystal in the second mish, I was distracted from the keyboard for a few minutes. When I returned, the crystal was gone, and everything, including my toon, was dead. So, I went back to base, burned off my full Salvage hoard (this is just a test!), and returned to visit doom on the Bad Guys. The time was much better this time. The major variables here versus RUN 1 were: More AoE; Base Buffs for one-half of the ITF; and my incremental exposure to the Task Force itself. This was my fourth ITF run since returning to Homecoming. Back on Live, I ran it only a few times before I left the game. That's when @Leandro had shown me how to get behind the walls and farm the warriors on top of the buildings with his new Archer Leo toon. Fun stuff. I could see how soloing this could easily become a total obsession. It's really fun. Especially with EM or the massive "THOOM!" of SS. So, I'm not complaining, if only because I don't know better what it was that I missed. Thanks for illustrating how much fun this is. - @VoidSpawn2
