Fort Trident: a minor question
StorytellingMonkey replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
I just tested. I ran at level 5 speed from the Atlas base portal to Fort Trident, went in, and logged to selection screen: 18 sec log-out timer. I logged the same character back in and stood where I was and logged out to the selection screen again: 14 sec log-out timer -
Corruptor - just don't see any big picture
StorytellingMonkey replied to Diantane's topic in Corruptor
You don't "finally get" scourge. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Scourge The real key with a corruptor is waiting for others to severely damage opponents and then finishing them off with scourge. So say you target through a tank or melee character, or maybe a blaster or sentinel, watch the health bar on their target, as soon as they hit half health, start your attacks (the character you are targeting through is still attacking them). Meanwhile - as you are waiting to attack, use your defender-like powers to support the character you are targeting through. But, yeah, if you are soloing or running with at steam-rolling team, scourge seems like it is isn't very useful. If I'm soloing with a corruptor, I tend to try to make sure that I will have a high damage power available when an enemy is a bit below 1/2 health. -

Well, "His Story" is alway the story as told by the victor or told to enhance their prestige or hubris in general .. of course, assuming that the victor is male. So whoever "wins" in the time-manipulation game is writing their own "story" which in the time-manipulation business becomes "history" (or "herstory" for that matter) By now that data is lost in time ... and the manipulation there of. If we look at google, its AI says "The history of the Time Lords in Doctor Who is full of contradictions and supposition. Here are some details about the creation of the Time Lords: The Timeless Children In the 2020 episode "The Timeless Children", it's revealed that the Time Lords were originally part of the Shobogan race. They were genetically altered with the DNA of "The Timeless Child", who later became the Doctor. Omega The scientist Omega created an energy source to power time travel experiments by manipulating a nearby star with the Hand of Omega. The star exploded into a supernova and then collapsed into a black hole, but Omega survived in an anti-matter universe. Omega created the Eye of Harmony, which gave the Time Lords the ability to travel through time." It goes on, but the other entries don't deal with their ability to manipulate time. Oh, sorry, did I imply that the Menders of Ouroboros are (or based on) Time Lords? ... I guess that is another story ... or you can just get the badge - https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Time_Lord_Badge and make it part of your character's story Through timey-wimey means. Yes. At some point in multiple timelines they did because they felt it was necessary. Dependant upon which time line it was created for different reasons and the labor was supplied by different and/or multiple races of beings sometimes by beings of this dimension and sometimes by beings of other dimensions or even separate timelines that cross at nexus points. Ever hear of The Master? Is it always other time manipulators/travellers or those that have found out that time manipulators/time travellers have been manipulating their timestream either accidentally or intentionally. Only time will tell. The Secret is that there are those manipulating time. Schrödinger's Cat is a famous thought experiment that demonstrates the idea in quantum physics that tiny particles can be in two states at once until they're observed. It asks you to imagine a cat in a box with a mechanism that might kill it. Until you look inside, the cat is both alive and dead at the same time. It both is a "sham" and isn't a "sham" at the same time. Of course, when you go on an Ouroboros mission, are you helping to "mend" the time stream or are you "manipulating"/changing the time stream just because you can? Isn't the secret that you have the power to manipulate your own character's timestream through the use of Ouroboros missions? I mean I think it used to direct you to a Mender for missions the first time you gained access, but, at this point, with all the time stream manipulation, characters can get there super easy. People are constantly ripping a hole in the time stream to cart people off to the Ouroboros right next to Ms Liberty just after their timeline has been created within Paragon City. So, yeah, I guess the "secret" isn't much of a "secret" any more. Just anyone can barge in there whenever they want at this point.

START Jump powers: Jump Pack and Steam Jump Travel Power don't have the warning blink before timing out Most powers with timed durations blink before they time out. Neither Jump Pack nor Steam Jump Travel Power do this so there is no warning before your character plummets out of the air and possibly with a landing leaving you with 1 HP in the middle of a mob of enemies. I'm just wonder why these powers don't have the warning blink. Due to their short duration it would be very helpful.

Night of the Vampires (45783)

Ya think? /e faceplam What's a time waster? Is a time waster the kind of thing that @huang3721 want to make the Night of the Vampires not "quite plan"? As many posts I see for farms and level 50's running the same-old Council scanner missions, one would figure they would like a chance of pace now and again that didn't have an overly complicated story, allowed some challenges if they wanted them, and allowed a team that found that they were over their head the chance to complete the arc by avoiding the most dangerous challenges. I don't know. Each person judges based on their own opinions. I've seen plenty of DEV's Choice missions that honestly had to say how could that possibly rate being given a DEV's Choice? I could just try to get plays by recruiting for my arcs. No one but me would see most of the dialog. Check your souvenirs. -

Even worse to get jumped on by people in the forums because the expect War and Peace instead of comic book story. I was just quickly writing so people might have some different to play. Obviously, I didn't take time to spell check this one and just hacked it out. I'll go back and do some spell checking as time provides. So did you bother playing my arc? Easter egg. There is a good bit of conversation and, yes, you can miss the boss/EB/AV conversations if you don't fight them. The Contact is clear. You must defeat ALL the vampires to stop the spread of vampires in Paragon City. They even question you about it at the end of the arc. Or it makes it challenging. A lot of this is a matter of perspective. -

Thanks for checking it out. It looks like you enjoyed it. Reply to the critique No real detail about what makes the writing lacking. I think everyone know what an interaction bar is and taking time to write "... searching ..." or "...you inspect the blank..." is not necessary. Sometimes I do it, sometimes I don't. Some want a bunch of writing in the interaction boxes. Some complain that the information should be short. It's a matter of opinion. The AE doesn't come with a spell checker. I'm not paid to write AE stories. Sometimes I will dump the text into google and spell check, sometimes I don't. It's time consuming. If I'm going to take extra time to polish a story to "publishing" level, then I should just write it for publication in the real world and not waste time on trying to provide some fun alternative gaming that isn't already in City of Heroes. It is supposed to be hard to stop them from escaping. That's the whole point. The contact dialog even explains that. Critique of the the critique What I'm missing is: Did you play it solo or with a team? What level was the character/team? What character archetype(s) were on the team? -
Something sinister is happening in the streets of Paragon City. After dark, a thick mist rolls in to obscure the streets and teenagers have gone missing. These don't seem to be normal gang related abductions.
