  1. Aoes are less of an issue with special ios. In fact you WANT them to be aoes because thats the highest defense you will always have with the +25% defense from special ios.  With base 10% def thats 35% before maneuvers, any -to  hit (like a lot of secondaries have) or and def buffs.  Enemies with lethal cones are pretty screwed against mm pets.

  2. So why is it preferred to go frankenslotting with your pets, rather than a full commitment to the two ATO sets and Soulbound Allegiance? What is there to gain from frankenslotting instead going for the most expensive sets and losing out on set bonuses?

     

    Set bonuses arent super great,though you can still frankenslot and get the 10% recharges from the ATO sets. The special ios increase pet survival A LOT and procs that work on every single power are great (for pets that have access to that).

  3. Extremely focused and doesnt waste time on crowd control, base numbers offer a lot more damage and defense(compared to ninjas, Minions and bosses have twice the defense but jounins have a bit more base defense compared to the lioness)

     

    Am not sure about more damage than ninjas... ninjas do some crazy damage.  Two permanently stealthed jounins mow things down.  Two stealthed jounins usually means a lot of dead genins though.

    Maybe in large parties where others can cover your defenses.. but I dont think kin is a good solo primary in general.  Recharge doesnt work on pets, and with the limited dmg cap on pets, even fulcrum is kinda meh.  The -res most other sets have probably does a good job at getting the same effect.  Even the res kin effect doesnt include lethal.  In large groups that cover your weak defenses kin is great cause.. well having a kin in the party is generally better than not having a kin in the party.  I have a 50 nin/kin and have tried all sorts of crowd control and provoking combinations.  pets just drop like flies solo if you up the difficulty even a bit and even a minion ends up not being crowd controlled.

     

     

    With the res special IOs that give +35% res to all, a res secondary and inherent res some primary sets can hit res cap which makes pets a lot easier to heal.

     

    Beasts have S/L (but the wolves have less at 16% rather than 26, still cap-able though).  Mercs have S/L. Demons have S/L.  Nins have none (lol), Necro has smash but not lethal plus a ton of others.  Bots has lethal but not smash. Thugs have none except the bruiser that has s/l.

     

    S/L res primaries pair well with res sets, nature is solid with beasts so far.  I need more cdr, but when you have the absorb plus HOT going they are practically unkillable.

     

    I also think all MMs should be provoking bosses/elitebosses/AVs to prevent oneshots on pets.  Though with max resists they might still not get oneshot.

     

    I have a 40 beast/nature so far and its working fine.  Most of your aoe comes from the dire wolf.  And things ramp up once you have all pets so they can better stack pack mentality.  Each stack is 2% dmg and 2% crit chance which adds up.  If you pickup some of MM attacks you can keep pack mentality higher.  The hawk in particular can be used for force feedback.  And if you want to do damage it can fit a lot of dmg procs which bypass AT damage penalties. With only one stack of wild growth (cause i still need recharge). Primary attacks also have -fly.

     

    Beasts also have about 10% inate defense, plus the special ios and a modest -10% hit from something (like spore cloud) they are aoe def capped.

  5. Depending on primary, you get about 26% resistance to some resists, some pets having both S/L (bots have L/Cold/Psi). with special ios giving 35% and fire giving 22, thats more than enough to get to the 75% cap.

  6. Oh that's a big relief. Would Mercs be decent with Force Field as a secondary or would I really want to grab Traps instead to focus on debuffing resistances?

     

    I took a merc/storm to maxed incarnate

     

    How did you manage to keep your henchies alive solo using /storm?

  7. I would second the idea that these XP Boosts become toggle powers. Seems silly to run to a vendor every hour or so when you are leveling up to 50.  Just purchase, click, and go.

     

    I also second the INF equivalent of the XP boosts. I would also recommend doing them as toggle type powers.

     

    All in all, these requests are First World type problems. Just happy to be a Villain (sometimes Hero) again. Everything else is gravy.

     

    They stack to 8 hours though.

  8. Depending on the type of vampire, you could go savage/dark with mounstrous hands.  Often vampires fight with claws in different depictions, and savage has a fair bit of bleeding themed stuff.  Unless you're going for a more magical style.

  9. If you go Mercs it's almost mandatory to slot an Achilles Heel Proc for -20% RES into the Soldiers Power. All of the soldiers attacks can proc it.

    Low effort to make all of the Merc Pets a bit more viable in the damage department.

     

    You could also slot the Universal Damage Proc (Knockback to Knockdown) into the commando, so that he doesn't scatter all the mobs.

    Many Merc attacks are cones and it's better to keep the Mobs tightly packed.

     

    Might be better to put the OF kb2kd on soldiers to let all their attacks have a chance to kd and make the medic grenade kd and put the sudden acceleration kb to kd on the commando.

  10. Hello, im playing this weird combo to make the fastest ninjas ever! The fastest at dying apparently.

     

    I'm managing to sorta keep them alive by provoking a lot... and using the 2 fear powers in presence, repel with sudden acceleration, jounin with overwelming force, smoke bombing whoever feels most suicidal and manually putting the oni on dangerous targets.  But its pretty hit and miss... specially if anything has aoe.

     

    I could use help slotting and possibly with pool powers.  Im tankerminding for them, but mez really messes me up a lot, not to mention aoe.

  11. Ive made the file to command the demons. Everything works but the goto command. it keep[s saying no matching command name.
