[Challenge: Solo Lusca on different ATs without repeating powersets]

Greetings everyone, my name is @Silverado. I've been playing since live on both Freedom and Virtue. City of Heroes is my favorite, and no other game I've played (WoW, SWTOR, Wildstar, Overwatch) was able to fill the void during its absence.

 

Anyway, I like having fun with the flexible build system the game offers that lets you do crazy things, like soloing signature AVs and GMs. 

One of my favorite challenges is soloing Lusca, because I find it hilarious that "one of the biggest challenges to any Giant Monster hunter. One 8 man team may simply not be enough and depending on team composition some times even three teams fail to defeat the GM." (as described in the article) can be taken down by one person.

Do you have what it takes to participate in this challenge and take down the Giant Octopus in Independece Port on different ATs?

 

The rules of the challenge are:

• No teammates
• No temp powers*
• No "Lore" summons (as per @nihilii's suggestion)
• No T3 inspirations or above
• No repeating powersets*
• Proof is required (screenshots, videos, etc.)

 

* An exception could be made for Prestige Powers from the P2W vendor, since the impact they have is minor.

** That means if you do it on an Ill/Rad Controller, you cannot do it on a Sonic/Rad Corruptor, since you'd be repeating Rad

 

To start off the challenge, I will submit my Blaster (Beam/Mental) and Defender (Therm/Ice). 

 

[Is Fire/Kin what it used to be?]

Fire/Kin may not be able to do +4/x8 afk farming, but it is still a damn powerhouse both offensively and defensively, both solo and in teams. It's probably one of the best support in the game at all level ranges

[Highest single target damage set for Stalkers?]

Which set(s) has(ve) the highest single target damage potential for Stalkers? Apologies if this has been asked before.

You also want to look at uptimes and downtimes. Because of this, Lingering Radiation outclasses every other power (except Traps/PoisonTrap) listed here.

[Soloed Lusca on my Blaster (no temps, no incarnates - no summons of any kind)]

Here's what I did use:

• A primary and a secondary powerset geared specifically to take down AVs and GMs (Beam Rifle and Mental Manipulation)
• Half a billion worth of IOs to shore up my survivability
• A full tray of small inspirations, bought from the nurse
• A base teleporter macro for quick inspiration refill after each tentacle was down

[Do Giant Monsters get the Archvillian Debuff Resistance?]

GMs do have a level that generally corresponds to the zone they spawn in. Kraken and Paladin are level 10ish, Babbage (Boomtown) is 20ish, Lusca is 25ish, Jurassik is 40ish, Kronos is 50ish

 

They do get the AV debuff resistances, but since the resistances scale with level, and most GMs are low level, they get low resistances.

I am also having this same issue, exactly as described. Does anyone have a solution for this?
