[Storm Summoning vs. Cold Domination]

My cold/sonic defender is by far my fav ive ever played. So many buffs/debuffs, makes teammates hit for over a thousand (when the AV is at -80% resist to all damage). The only issue ive run into is that soloing is kind of slow or painful

There will alway be 'optimal' pow/enh builds, but theme and variety seem to be nearly as important in this community

[Do you still need to faction swap or can you roll anything on either side?]

On character creation, after prompting for tutorial it asks which faction as well

Was a really happy suprise for me too, now im remaking my old defender and am actually having a hard time figuring out what extra powers I want (the new 5th option in pools are kinda neat)

Whoever decided to change shielding powers from single target to target based aoe(team) is a gentleman&scholar and deserves the medal of heroes

IMHO, pure damage is ok, but sets with useful secondaries make for better synergy (rad debuffs def, sonic resist etc) 

Having a corruptor's support secondary keeps it a little safer (no melee ranging) and can fill in crucial buff/debuffs the team needs
