OVH is currently replacing a network switch which our core infrastructure relies on for inter-server communication. We expect all shards to be affected by this, and OVH's estimate for the downtime will be approximately one hour.

@here Apologies for the second ping. The live shards have been taken down until OVH has finished maintenance. Loss of the part of our infrastructure that relied on the switch was causing issues for the shards and resulted in them becoming unplayable. We'll closely monitor the incident status and bring the shards up as soon as possible.

We will still be performing scheduled maintenance later today.

[If you wanted new powers what would it be?]

A Carnie MasterMind that summons a set of pets from lowly Attendants to Master Illusionists, with powerups that can upgrade the pets from Strongman to Dark Ring Mistress.

Of course pets would have limited powers unlike the NPC class.

i vote Stalker cus LR crit from hide while not breaking hide is sexy, plus all of the crits. followed closely by Scrapper with the ATOs slotted is also amazing,

[Help with a bio tanker]

Any secondary set will work, so try what you think you will enjoy.

Tankers received some changes recently, the most notable being an increase in the number of targets affected by AoEs.

For tanks i really like Fire Melee, Dark Melee and Staff Fighting, lots of AoE and utility in the case of DM and Staff.

Other sets i have tried and like for tanks is War Mace, Battle Axe, Electric Melee and Radiation Melee.

For pure Damage i like Super Strength, Energy Melee (recently improved), and stone Melee.

All of the other sets i have not tried as a tanker, and i'm sure others can give you better advice, but i say Try Them All.

After all that is what this game is about 🙂

i would recommend, Rad Armor, Bio Armor and Invuln.

Dark Armor would seem to be a good pairing but i have never tried that combo.

lol. trying to force Real Life scenarious into a game. Play the way you want, with the AT and powersets you want. Dont's listen to the adviced YOU ASKED FOR, build your gimp blaster and move on. Enjoy the game..... or not. there are lots of other fighting games that simulate RL fighting conditions, maybe you should try one of them.

[Tanker advice]

Welcome to CoH.

For a first time tank i would suggest Willpower. it has a bit everything, resistance, defense, regeneration, and endurance recovery.

it is a set and forget powerset so you can concentrate on the mobs, plus it offers a pretty smooth ride all the way to 50.

 

Aside from Willpower, any tank would be viable and fun to play, just maybe a bit more involved like Invulnerability, Bio, Radiation and some others.

Read the descriptions of the different types and play what you think you will enjoy or that appeals to you.

For primaries i think Broadsword, Dual Blades and Dual Pistols with the right weapon choice fit the bill. As for secondary that would be totally up to you, but if you want to go for a clean look then something like Willpower or Invulnerability keeps your costume clearly visible at all times.

We all agree that Regen needs to be buffed, just so we can nerf it again. Yup yup.

[New to COH and in need of help]

i'm not a defender, but my advice is:

Search the Defender Forums for build advice on Empathy. there is alot of really good info and builds based on different playstyles/goals.

Download Mids and play with it. Use the Set Bonus Finder feature to quickly locate the IOs/bonuses that you are looking for.

 

If i was building an Empathy Defender i would prioritize Recharge, Healing, Range Defense and resistance in that order. Again that is just me.

 

@Biostem ha great advice, and to add to that i would suggest picking the pool powers that compliment your goals: Tough/Weave, Maneuvers, Rune of protection and an Epic pool shield and/or Power Boost.

And the same goes for Incarnate Powers. Select the ones the Shore up and compliment your build goals.
