  1. No I used to love scrappers. And had several different ones all with lots of playtime logged.

Now I'm branching out and finding that I enjoy support. Primarily controllers but also have a couple corrupters. I've also got a stalker I really enjoy.

And all my scrappers just kind of sit there. Though I have enjoyed my new claws/energy armor scrapper. I think it might be because it's a new character I thought up and created, instead of just a remake of an old one that was lost with the shutdown.

  2. No. Stagnant games, which this is, require a seeded market for long term longevity. Otherwise you chase away any potential new players with everything being overpriced after just a few months in as people start hoarding currency.

If you want IOs just buy the mats and craft them. There are literally 10million of every mat seeded for you to buy.

And if the argument is.. you want to make lots of influence by cornering markets but cant with a seeded market. Well then to that I say boohoo for you too bad.

Edit: oh I misread and thought you were talking about the seeded market not the IO fee. Not sure why. My apologies, but I'll leave the message up anyway so people can flame me. I can take it... I'm a /fire brute!

  3. Can anyone drop a sample build for fire dark? I play mostly melee characters and rolled a fore dark just to try out controllers again and am having a lot of fun but am very much clueless about effective slotting and IO goals.

  4. Titan weapon starts slow and builds up momentum into going fast. But the first part of leveling, is pretty brutal. Overall it's an extremely powerful set though. Bio is basically the best secondary for scrapper right now. The static damage addition plus dot additives push it towards the highest overall dps gain.

Staff animations are definetaly faster than titan, also faster than mace, axe, broadsword, and I think katana. Claws and dual blades will feel faster imo.

Problem is staff has some short times and long times for animations. But it feels pretty fluid, honestly it's mostly the long animation on it's big aoe.

Again bio would be best. But honestly pick whatever you want as a secondary (except dark.. that's more like hard mode. It's very good, but kills endurance and seems to take a deeper understanding of IO sets, as well as funds to get those sets to really shine)

For non weapon sets 4 seem to be very popular.

Fire melee, for consistent good single target and ae damage.

Dark melee for consistent high single target damage, and personal survivability powers.

Electric melee (paired with shield) for aoe group nuking carnage. But it blooms very late.

And street justice, a solid dps set with a combo mechanic to give it some flavor in combat. ( staff also has this btw)

Funny enough all 4 of those are typically paired with shield for best results, although Bio would be strong on all as well.. except elec/shield has that very specific nuking build.

Scrappers are good though in that pretty much everything is good. You just need to find what's fun to you.

  5. Yeah, I gave hover a shot, and it is much faster than I remembered. I'm sure I played after issue 8 but I had moved on to superjump by then. On another note, I now have a beam/devices blaster as well as this guy, and I gotta tell you, that sumbitch is a nail driver. It's actually easier to solo because I kill stuff so fast. I cranked up the difficulty higher than I ever could with my Sentinel, at least that's true through the 20s. Stuff just melts. I'm kinda getting why people are down on Sentinels. Unless I'm fighting mez heavy mobs, it's not even a contest.

It's not awesome at grouping because of lack of aoe on the blaster, so the mobs better be dark purple or you're always hunting for a target with enough health to be worth shooting as all the other aoe in the group takes out the minions and even a lot of lieutenants so fast your single shots seem pointless a lot of the time. But you can melt a boss like nobodies business. It's not awful, you definitely are knocking out some dps, but group play really lends itself to aoe more. I play my pistols blaster in groups more for the better aoe.

    Swift is also baseline now.

  6. Eh... Sadly the kind of people who are going to get upset and flame people over missed tells are not the ones that are going to listen to this kind of request. They think their tells/requests/demands/way of playing is the most important and they will let you know it no matter what anyone says. Even in a City of Heroes there are going to be some Guy Gardners.

And yet they are too scared, or whatever to form their own group.

  7. Started in '99 with EverQuest.

Tried shadowbane, daoc they didnt stick with me.

Coh came out loved it played it.

All my friends jumped on to final fantasy online, so I left coh for that. That game while neat, was very lacking in fun. Back to coh.

World of Warcraft - went hardcore from vanilla to wrath. Raiding primarily with a smattering of pvp. Around cata back to city of heroes.

Then back to wow for pandas. Cause coh was done. :(

Totally done with wow after pandas. That game is dumb and so is everyone that plays it.

Picked up gw2 lots of fun.

Picked up firefall and went deep into it. Totally different genre then coh, but the same epic feeling. Taking on swarms of aranya, or grouping up for giant monsters. A huge elephant monster that spawns randomly and the whole server comes together to beat it. Awesome!

Firefall gets nuked the new owners dont want an mmo they want the IP for an Asian marketed phone app.

Back to gw2.. but without any heart in it.

Get gifted wow legion.. play.. but dont really enjoy it. It's now just truly world of grind craft.

Find out everquest is still a thing. With new expansions... back to everquest. So lost, my characters were at one point totally stripped down and in had nothing. Start new on a different server. 3 box shadow knight, shaman, ranger to 105/105/100 as my accounts expansion accessible allowed. It's fun... but something is missing. Oh yes .. people, people are missing everyone just plays solo with their box armies.

Gw2 expansion pack is on sale get it, lots of fun.. gliders, mounts, open world raids. Fun.. but stagnant.

Everquest new time lock progression. opens.. get in, make a noob tons of fun grinding old classic dungeons for awhile but my interest dropped mid velious. Back to gw2.

Just logging in to log in at that point. Start playing heavily in overwatch.

Get competitive in overwatch, start being mad in overwatch? Why are there only ever morons on the blue team, and elite soldiers on the red team?? Wtf?!

Ok take it easy.. start playing single player games. Log into EQ or gw2 randomly looking for a place to be. Nothing sticks..

City of heroes is back, and I'm finally home.

Cant remember the exact timeline but I also tried and disliked these MMOs: champions online, lotro,  planetside 2, eve, aieon(sp?), everquest 2, age of conan, vanguard, dungeon fighter online was cool but seemed to be lacking something.

  8. I took on a full +4/8 group of freakshow on my stalker after the alpha dropped our brute, and the chaos that followed killed everyone else in the group.

Broadsword / elec - I was spamming party to keep defense capped and my lightning auras took care of their other dmg.

Was hilarious being the best tank in the group as a stalker. That mission changed my opinion on broadsword and katana defense buffs. Might not be as useful at 50 with full IOs, but having on demand stacking defense while leveling is amazing.

  9. Fm/SD

It has solid single target damage, Fire Sword Circle is a great AoE, you'd have shield charge, and could even pick up another AoE in your epic/patron pool if you choose, and of course, there's also your Judgement Incarnate. I can solo AV's and farm with my FM brute.

And think about it, how many other scraps or brutes have you seen running around with FM?

    Definitely not FotM.

I have a lvl 6 FM/SD just in case I ever decided to act on my thoughts of making it better than the more common Elec/SD.

Part of my dilemma is that in general - I just see so much Fire anything. While the logical side of my brain tells me, "duh", the more creative side is telling me to use something as bad as Ice Melee and make it badass.

Thank you for the response - I always consider that combo just because I know it will wreck.

I'm still hoping for someone to show me real game example of ice melee dark armor working. Mine was a miserable failure, and of course someone said with several billion in IOs and max incarnate it would actually be pretty strong... but literally everything in game under those conditions is strong.

  10. I had WinXP for 12 years....got a new gaming puter loaded with Win8.1 and had to get used to it! Then, upgraded to Win10 and there was very little sticker shock like the first time. Very surprised that I like Win10 as much as I do.

I was on windowsME for like 3 years. So literally anything is better.

    Except a mac.

  11. I would get and slot both the procs then work towards the set completion.

As to which first I have critical strikes on my scrapper alt and really enjoy it.

Currently dumping an insane amount of influence into a brute ae the scrappers fun gear got put on hold.
