  1. Taking the second part first. Characters who log out without leaving the team will rejoin the team and the Task Force when they log back in.

Everyone who present for the last mission gets credit for completing the Taskforce.

So as long as the whole team can agree on a log out and log back in schedule and keeps to that agreement then you can put a Task Force down and pick it up later, but those characters wont be able to do any other missions or join any other teams in the mean time.

This isn't something I would try with a pick up group, but back on Live my Super group did it a few times when Task Forces dragged out.

When it comes to how long they take, most take as long as their number of missions. Like any chain of missions some can be short cut (stealth to the end and assemble the team) and if you use fast travel methods like team teleport you can cut the time down a lot,

i got a little sad burning emps for threads.  but only a little.  all T4 at vet level 5 with 2 Destiny tier 4s,  hope to have the 3rd soon,  not willing to burn more emps quite yet for it

    All resources are just resources.

I tend to try to see how close to exactly I can bring in each character with nothing left over.

The last two characters I got to 6x4 for Incarnate powers got there with less than 10 threads and nothing else left over.

  3. I tend to have each of my characters run a bunch of Converter Roulette til they have 400 to 500 million inf before I really get into playing them seriously.  So often before level 15 I don't have to worry about that character anymore.

I do sometimes seed them with 10 million just to ease out the starting boot strap portion.

See below links on ways to use the market to generate Inf in without investing playtime.

And I think there is room for a lot more Converter Roulette marketers at the moment because a lot of IO Enh seem to have very low amounts for sale.

  4. Most of my characters would make it before Vet Level 10, but I run the Dark Astoria Ch1 arc through Ouroboros a lot.

Set it for a difficulty you can solo and it is good for Incarnate salvage and extra E Merits.

You can ghost a fair bit of it or recruit a small team of other 50's and defeat a lot of critters for drops and additional I-Exp.

  5. Freaklympics arc is given by Marvin Weintraub and Colin Larsen.

Freakshow War is given by Neal Kirkpartick and Tina Chung.

Avoid those contacts and you will avoid those arcs.

You will still see Freakshow because they turn up in other missions, but at least you won't get arcs full of them.

  6. I think you can spend as much or as little as you want on any build.

One of my friends has one character with 9 purple sets slotted, not sure it is actually the most effective, but it is his prime character so he wanted to spend the Inf.

Most ATs and power set combos can be improved by judicious IO Set slotting, but I think the point of diminishing returns is around 400 to 500 mil.

  7. There is no relation between accuracy required and class (I presume you mean Archetype).

How much Accuracy you need to slot depends on how many levels about you the critters that you want to reliably hit are.

If you mostly fight +0 and +1 Critters then 1 SO (or about 33%) Accuracy Enhancement will be fine. If you want to reliably hit +2 and +3 Critters then you will want 2 SOs of Accuracy.

Some powers have greater or lesser base Accuracy and you can see by mousing over a power in the Enhancement screen how much Accuracy Enhancement it has.

In general if a power has a secondary effect it is not worth wasting an enhancement slot on trying to improve it. You can't go wrong with just enhancing the Damage (or whatever the power mostly does). And then I would do Endurance Reduction and Recharge before I thought of any Secondary effect, and then I would remember that it wasn't worth enhancing for secondary effects.

When should you start with IO Sets? I have two considerations. First is the character high enough level to slot the set. And Second do I have the Inf to afford the set. If both are true then I buy the set and slot it as soon a I can get slots in the power. Additional note I always slot Attuned Set IOs which I buy as Attuned off the Auction House.

Last thing, you will get quicker responses to questions in the General forum.

    Regards, Screwloose.

“I am not young enough to know everything.”

  8. The simple rule is that enhancement value diminishes (to basically zero) after 3 SOs worth.

So you can slot 3 Damage, One Acc, One Recharge and one and reducer SO in an attack power and not suffer from Diminshment, but if you slot 4 Damage then the last one you will get very little value from.

If you are slotting crafted basic IOs then two level 50 IOs will get you close to the threshold.

For IO sets there isn't anything you can do you have to take whatever the set gives you.

And read the wiki, people have spent time typing out good info there.

  9. NPC Vendors and Auction House are both good.

I generally don't stress too much about filling my Enh slots at lower levers.  Try to get two Acc DOs in each power that takes them early on.

At level 22 I buy a full set of SOs from an NPC Vendor and then at 27 start to change over to IOs.  You can often buy them from the Auction House for less than the build cost if you put in a reasonable bid and wait a day or two.

All that should be achievable if you keep an eye on what things that drop for you are worth on the Auction House and put them up for reasonable prices.  As soon as you get an Orange Invention Salvage that should sell easily for 500k and finance your Enhancements up to level 22.

  10. Not entirely random.

Different factions of critters will drop Enhancements of particular types. Crey will drop Tech, Circle of Thorns will drop Magic. You can get a good guide by the type of Enhancements that the contact who gave you the mission sells as they will tend to send you against factions that fit their theme.

But unfortunately what Enhancements critters drop is next to pointless. Might get a couple of drops that are Enhancements that you use, but even if you entirely stick to factions that are likely to drop the Origin of Enhancements that you can use you will outlevel anything that drops well before you could possibly fill a third of your slots.

Almost everything that drops off critters is trash loot, that is you are going to be best served by selling it and buying what you need from NPC vendors.

  11.

The best non powered stealth is to be a Tank.

Just run past stuff and ignore it.

If you are in a team it is good form to let your teammates know this is your plan otherwise they might get attacked by Critters that are annoyed they can't stop you.

  12. I have Polar Lights, the all dps versions, on a few characters, they seem quite acceptable.

I don't know where they rte on teh Ub3r mega nerf them now scale, but they put out an acceptable amount of DPS.

And they are relatively small and unobtrusive, which is nice.

  13. Sure, but what do you want.

I'd suggest a have  look down in the Blaster Forum you will probably find some posts on AR and Devices.

I have done AR a couple of times and all the powers are good, take lots of them and 6 slot them and put enhancements in them.  If you are able to get IO sets use ones that give you Set Bonuses that improve things you want.

Devices similarly, if you think that you will find a power useful and fun take it.

If you can't find at least 6 powers from each powerset that look fun and useful try a different powerset.

You can chose Flight straight out of the box, and Afterburner if you want to go fast, I don't but I know plenty of people who do.

  14. Edge is correct, if you are slotting Single Origin Enhancements.

If you are slotting Dual Origin Enhancements then I would slot 2 Accuracy and then Damage or whatever other Effect they produce.

Also if you run the Death From Below Trial a couple of times you can select the Accuracy and Damage buffs which last til level 22 and will make your early leveling a lot more enjoyable, as well as being decent Exp for lower level toons.

Also regarding Endurance costs Attacks cost a lot more End than almost all Toggles, so after Accuracy and Effect consider an Endurance Reduction in your attacks if you are having issues with End.

But if building for defense is your goal, why would you ever choose electric armor?   Not trying to argue...just trying to understand the whole defense-resist picture better.

There are two levels of build perfection here.

First you should maximise the output of the defensive powers that you have by slotting them and enhancing them well.

Then there is another layer of threat mitigation that you can get from IO Set bonuses.  This can help you max out what you already have (Resistance or Defence) and can add threat mitigation that your defensive powerset was never meant to have.

Adding 20% Melee Defense to a melee character that gets none from it's defensive powerset makes a whole lot of difference.

  16. If you want to fill the team role of Tank then you should take and use Taunt.

If you are talking about the Maneuvers power from the Leadership pool then to me that seems like a poor choice, not much return for your power choice or End cost.

Hard to say much more on the info provided.

  17. I don't think it is a bug, but it is poor programming.

The Safeguard missions can fail if one of the robbers gets past you and gets to their exit point.  It shouldn't happen as soon as you enter the Bank, but at high levels the Villains will break the Bank Vault very quickly.

There are a few missions which require you to make sure someone doesn't escape.  At some point you will trigger them to try to get away and they should make some sort of exclamation which you should be able to see as NPC text.  What can happen then is that if there is more than one way to get to the exit from where they start and you go one way and they go the other then you can just miss them.

There aren't a lot of failable missions, but the ones that are can be annoyingly difficult to succeed in.

I don't think there are any circumstances where "fail"ing a mission has any impact on progression, except that it can end a mission quickly so you don't get to beat up more bad guys, but it can be annoying.
