If there were more places where actually moving people into a spot = win that'd be a huge gamechanger. Currently, you end up moving people out of the danger zone most of the time.

In SWTOR (which I've been playing a lot of lately), a couple of character classes have a PBAOE KB power.  Not only is it effective in re-opening the range against melee-only foes, it can often be used to knock them off ledges or catwalks etc.

Here, of course, the issue is that this doesn't defeat/get rid of them; instead, you have to chase them down or wait for them to climb back up.  (And TOR doesn't require you to "defeat all" to clear the mission, raid, etc.)

  2. Though I'll say this, in conclusion(?):

If this is about people judging you, or being concerned that they will?

People will always judge you.  It's inescapable.  If not this, something else - probably something equally superficial.  Very few of the people you meet in life will ever know or think of you beyond first impressions.

Find a way to live with this... or don't.

I have done that a few times.  Leave a contact mission that sent me to a much lower level zone and get ambushed when I exit and have no idea that mobs are on their way.  I call the contact, get the next mission and go.  Little do I know there are lvl 50 mobs wandering around Perez waiting to 1 shot some poor lvl 16 that wanders in the zone grabbing badges.  A big warning on the screen would be nice so I can clean up the mess and not accidentally get someone killed.

This is why it matters (to some people, anyway).

  4. Um, back when the TF came out, there were no Council, only the Fifth Column.  Issue 0 content, remember?

They probably just did a simple search-and-replace for Issue 3 and didn't touch it since.

As for the Rikti hunt, consider that everyone's going to be converging on Founders anyway because the last part happens in Eden.  In my experience, it goes pretty fast.

  5. A little context, from a previous post of mine:

The thing to understand about Numina is that, way back at launch - yea, even before we got Peregrine Island and 40-50 content - that was The End.  The final Task Force.  The finish line.  And so, it was designed as a victory lap around the city, a counterclockwise ("widdershins") spiral out from the center, in which the players face all the enemies they fought on the way to 40:  a "boss rush", but with mooks / villain groups rather than bosses (or AVs).  Naturally, no one actually plays it this way, with the entire group moving from zone to zone in order; but that, I believe, was the intent.

The original design was to fit a very specific storytelling purpose... which has now fallen by the wayside.  Do we discard what's left, or try to restore or update it somehow?

  6. I take travel powers for concept.  Always.

For some characters, I wish I could not take one and still get around - temp jetpacks are the closest I usually manage - or could get a motorcycle, etc.   A lot of them would be well-served by being able to recolor the FX on Prestige Slide and combining it with SS and/or SJ to get ice or earth ramps for my controllers, etc.

I tried Flight + Afterburner, but two aspects of the latter power were a dealbreaker for me:  it doesn't automatically detoggle when Flight (or Hover) does, and there's currently no Minimal (i.e., zero) FX option for it.  So there I was, getting the "whoosh" FX around me while I was on the ground, just walking.  That just looked/felt stupid, so I respec'd out of it and haven't taken it again since.

Other than the T5, they are not innately Arachnosian... Which is why I suggest the unlock only being necessary for the T5...

Alright, the mace may be a little Arachnosian...

Yes, but switching sides, however briefly, permanently grants/flags your character with the badge(s).  Some people care about such things.

  8. I was there.

I said, "This game let me fly.  So I'll fly, right up to the end."

And I did.  I was in the air over Atlas Park, on Virtue, at midnight.

The world froze, and a dialogue box popped up, informing me that I'd been disconnected from the server.  There was only one button, labeled "OK".  It wasn't.

But now, seven years later... it is.  It is very OK.

My thanks to everyone who made this possible.
