  1. Quite easily - he's pointing out the likely lack of perspective behind the statement because it's easy not to see things you're not subjected to (for example, because you're white). Two times now you have interpreted asking people to question their perspective as an insult or attack.
  2. I just want a valid source, that's all.
  3. I have a better question...how could you possibly believe it was said "with a vilifying tone"? Was it the font?
  4. https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/the-post-millennial/ RIGHT BIAS These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward conservative causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage conservative causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Right Bias sources. ... For the most part news articles are sourced properly and factually based, though there is a strong right leaning bias in story selection that denigrates the left and in particular PM Justin Trudeau. The opinion/editorial pages provide little balance and primarily support Conservative and Libertarian positions. Further, the Post Millennial sometimes reports unsubstantiated claims that have not been proven such as this: WATCH: Justin Trudeau allegedly went for drinks with woman Liberals claim is a “white nationalist”.
  5. That's what SHE said!!! That's what SHE said!!! That's what SHE said!!!
  6. What's with people popping in with lengthy screeds (that rarely make sense) and ending it with "don't respond to me/and now I'm leaving this thread!"? Isn't kind of the equivalent saying something inflammatory then plugging your ears and going "lalalalala"!
  7. That's fine if you disagree. I disagree with you. To say someone has a privileged attitude about one thing in no way says they are privileged in general. Of course everyone has many advantages and disadvantages in life. Still, even the most disadvantaged can have privileged attitudes about some issues. The ability to 'escape the real world' is something many people don't have due to their color (for example). The assumption that you have a right, ignoring that others don't have that same right for no good reason, is privilege.
  8. Nope. Pointing out privilege is core to the discussion, and has nothing to do with labeling people, it refers to an attitude or perspective.
  9. Boom - nailed it. Let's call "escaping the real world" what it is: a privilege. To privilege, equity feels like oppression.
  10. I think the only way to take the Real World out of CoH is to remove all the players who live in the Real World.
