  1. I farm slightly out of nostalgia, slightly out of the desire to level another alt although I'm running out of combos I really want, and slightly out of giving myself something that do while I watch Netflix or Hulu as I can pretty much zone out the game and grind out a lvl 50 or damn close to while watching a movie.

My 1 day record is 6 lvl 50s in 1 day.

That all said I don't play too much lately, as well be been extremely busy with work as I work in a public health.

...or REMOVE LEVELS completely from missions/arcs/tf's, etc.  Make it all SCALABLE, which is also a massive code-change undertaking, but would be cool.  I think Guild Wars 2 did this with their zones.  Other games, too (SWTOR, etc).

Other CoH servers have already done such a thing so it's not impossible.

Cool....ty....Sounds like you don't have to take many powers from the set to get the good stuff....wondering if i'm missing opportunities as a troller secondary...fire/poison maybe

The scaling of the debuffs will significantly change going to a controller. You'll have a more difficult time achieving softcapped defenses, still require Clarion for Mez protection.

Venomous Gas and Hot Feet together will basically require you to go Ageless, and then you have the mez hole.

It's an interesting power combo, and honestly can probably be built to be decent, but would have some shortcomings like those that I've mentioned (then again not many characters don't have some shortcomings).

  4. A floating D&D esque Shadow Beholder or something out of a Lovecraftian Nightmare with Tentacles would be amazing.

I'd love to see Haunt changed to summon a Shadow Clone of the target inheriting weakened versions of the target's powers.

Heart of Darkness I feel should be like a ToHitDebuff Nuke, where it doesn't necessarily do much for damage, but it essentially blinds the targets in range for a substantial amount of time.

tell me about poison/rad....i have one in the low 20's and I"m not feeling it....but i want to 🙂

My incarnate poison/rad defender completely wrecks mobs, is basically a tank that debuffs everything, is only weak to Mez, so it requires Clarion.

I honestly use only Envenom/Weakness, a proc'd out Poison Trap and Venomous Gas from poison. Otherwise I've used the experimentation pool to add some attacks let me corrosive vial and get to adrenal booster.

Rad Blast wise the attacks are fairly thematic, neutron bomb is the weak link because the animation time is so slow, but between irradiate, neutron bomb you can seriously cripple some more defense and proc out to utilize up to 3 -resistance procs (as long as the -res is from a different source it stacks so annihilation and Achilles will stack, but 2 Achilles won't) and then clean up with atomic blast.

Mine is built to be softcapped to several defensive types, but with all the debuffs you'll be taking minimal amount of damage anyways.

Like most sets it really takes a life of it's own when incarnate/IO'd.

  6. Venomous Gas could stand to have it's end usage cut down.

Alkaloid, Antidote, and Elixir are easily the most likely powers to skip, as Poison is a straight up debuff set and is great at that.

If I was given the magic wand of changing powersets, I would likely:

    1. Slightly expand the debuff splash of envenom and weaken.

    2. Change Neurotic Breath to act as a wide arc ~120° catalyst which has a "caustic reaction" when it hits a target that has envenom/weakness on it. The reaction would likely be a long duration -regen/-max hp that ticks like DoT and self stacks.

Getting "Caustic Reaction" on as many enemies as possible would be the bread and butter of Poison play.

    3. Elixir would be changed to essentially make the target it rezzes as "Patient Zero" in that they would have a temporary Noxious Gas pbaoe debuff aura.

    4. Antidote would change into a pbaoe click, that neutralizes existing debuffs on the player and team/leaguemates.

    5. Alkaloid would turn into a pbaoe click based HoT that also slightly buffs resistance to toxic.

  7. I agree that battle axe needs love.

Although, narrow cones isn't the way to do it, as someone who uses an actual axe to chop trees in my back yard, it's impossible to have a narrow cone. Instead you have heavy hard hitting arcs of destruction ready to split whatever gets in it's path.

  8. You said you want it to be more of a blapper, but you have no melee attacks besides kick and brawl.

A blapper is a blaster that melees harder than a scrapper and tosses all cares to the wind.

You might want to look into some melee, whether synergy from fighting or mind probe and paid shockwave (pbaoe) to have some stuff in melee if you want to use a blapper style.

  9. Ground Zero is definitely a six slotter for only damage procs. It has a 90% proc rate then. You have 3 different IOs giving the power recharge, that ruins your proc chance. It's a set that's better to just use procs.

You'll essentially have a nuke that can get 30 targets.

I disagree with a previous commenter regarding Radiation Therapy slotting. I also proc it out for damage procs and you then have a 2nd nuke, one that works for the Position taskforce.

Honestly gloom and dark obliteration aren't going to do much for you. I wouldn't waste the slots in them, and honestly I'd get rid of dark obliteration as with 2 pbaoe nukes, atom smasher, and spreading contamination you'll do more than enough AoE damage. Gloom you could keep if you need a ranged attack to pull something but you have taunt so you don't really need gloom either.

Also I wouldn't give taunt that many slots either. 1 usually does the job.

    Just food for thought.

But if your HP is below 50% when Lightform's buff duration ends, your HP will be "healed" so as to bring you UP to 50% HP.

Obviously, whether that's a bad thing/good thing is really a matter of context ...

I'm curious what you were doing to be under 50% HP in lightform. It seems for me I'm hardly ever near there, but I also have some decent stacked defense although not capped.

  11. The PB isn't really about big spectacular nukes.

Kheldians are classes of adaptability, ie Druids from WoW. Choosing to specialize in 1 form can be beneficial, but it can also be a hindrance.

Leveling up a human form PB, you have no Mez protection at all aside of what you can get with combat jumping, and acrobatics. Having White Dwarf is useful for that reason even if you don't stay in the form, it acts as an instant breakfree that can be used while mezzed.

Quantum's can be found by making a targeting macro /target_name Quantum, as Quantum is in each subgroups name if they have a quantum weapon, that allows you instantly target 1 if it's there for you to see, and then plan the spike. Build up and Incandescent Strike work great for that, followed with a radiant strike if necessary.

You could superspeed in and use a stealth Io to dictate how most fights start.

The game is so much easier for Kheldians now a days than how it used to be, as players are less racist towards Kheldians. Then there's no longer Cysts or Void Hunters spawning (something I wish would come back as I liked the challenge).

Realistically though a Human form PB is pretty much a Sentinel without mez protection. Later down the road you can use IO's, Clarion, , etc to fill that hole. A lot of PBs build around recharge looking for perma lightform, which is great aside of the 50% HP crash.

A human form PB can be a Blapper/Defender with a side of very light control.

PB's are fun, and are kind of like the training wheels for how to play a Warshade though.

  12. I sort my characters as such:

Lowbies (less than 50) are heroes. They go to the back of the list. Non-IO'd lvl 50s are Villains, they go before heroes. Partially IO'd 50's are Rogues, and fully IO'd characters are Vigilantes. I sort each group then by AT and Alphabet.

This helps me keep track of them. I also use Excel but that's not in game.

In game I use lots of binds/macros that I keep generally uniform with some exceptions eg. Kheldians and Masterminds. All my inspirations are bound so I get what I want by button press rather than needing to sort them. I always feel the urge to only complete mission objectives. When a mission ends I have the exit button bound to my f9 key for instance so I can save time exiting the mission (that or I'm too lazy to use the mouse).

I sort my enhancements in bins based on category, and then whether they are useful for any of my alts or stuff I need to convert and sell for profit. For my power slotting, procs always start from the enhancement slot to the furthest right. If a slot on the left shows a proc, that means it's completely proc'd which tends to happen on numerous builds.

I find myself to typically build my characters to be self reliant and more often than not capable of carrying a team, as I don't expect much out of teammates especially pick up groups, but often enough team up with pick up groups, hopeful that I am wrong about my expectations for others. That said that's more of an internal thought process that I try to not let it show in the game, as I'm aware I'm an asshole, but I'm trying to internally work on it, and accept that horses must choose to drink on their own, and other's may have different definitions of fun.

  13. Planning my 5th sentinel for after I get off work. Currently have the following Incarnate Sentinels: Rad/Rad, Elec/Fire, Water/Bio, AR/Regen.

I'm leaning towards DP/EnA for my next one. Completely sold on EnA, but debating internally over Dual Pistols, Energy Blast or Sonic.

Sentinels are pretty fun to be honest. This is a great breakdown on Sentinels.

  14. Honestly at the rate it's possible to level up currently, rerolling allows you to have access to both characters so as you get bored of one you can play a different one.

  15. I would probably change the health slotting to a panacea proc and a Numina proc, and then turn DNA siphon into a proc'd out nuke (that's how I did it with my spines/bio and it's amazingly strong).

You probably want a performance shifter proc in somewhere if not a couple of them.

I'm also not too keen on slotting brawl like that as a bio armor brute/tank is already really resilient given the layered mitigation.

I personally like the idea of having some range even on a tank/brute so LBE works great as a proc cannon for Achilles's Heel, so you could use that on hard targets in conjunction with other -Res procs plus the -Res from genetic contamination to really soften some targets.

  16. Trick Arrow has so many useful proc applications. If you're going that route, proc it out you won't be disappointed.

Tactical Arrow is just a great secondary for blasters. Mind you it's mostly about upshot, eagle eye, agility, and gymnastics.

    Both are fun to play
