A weird paring just because claws wants a lot of recharge for their best attacks

Claws is pretty light in terms of needing recharge. I have two Claws builds at 130%-150% Global Recharge and the Claws side of things is fine.

I don't have a Claws/wp Scrapper build on me. I have a Brute version, but I think the Mid's file for it is on an old laptop,

You may not, but a lot of people rely on those ratings to decide if they are going to see a movie they are not already invested in.

Ill use IMDB for movies I know nothing about -  is it 100% accurate and in line with my tastes? No, but it can still be a good indication if something is trash.

Yep. I tend to lean with the critics, but I feel like for the Marvel movies I will lean a bit more with the fan base. I also have no problem having a 'hot take' for even Marvel movies which critics and fans love. I have used at a time Meta Critic as well since it is more score based versus thumbs up or thumbs down. Again, I don't expect 100% agreement with any site, but if two sites are saying the movie is in the 30% range, I'll at best wait for it to hit streaming.

I find it interesting the sheer hype that is put into an ad for Napoleon and yet it is getting a 64% at RT and 61% at Meta Critic.

In The Marvels news, my wife and brother-in-law had a fun time talking about the film on Thanksgiving.

Valiance Online is the third /fourth game that was spun out of CoX. I think it has gone the furthest out of the major three spin-offs, and seems to have the most focus. I can be wrong about this, as I only really look into them once every 3-6 months if I remember them.

I just looked. There hasn't been an updated on their site in 5 years. I also like the fact I get a warning about going to an unsecured site which has a login aspect.

I also saw on Facebook people were talking about how backing CoT gave physical rewards, and yet to this day not all of those rewards have been sent out.

Sites like Rottentomatoes are notorious for bots and manipulating reviews.  There's all sorts of reasons why they do it.  For me, I don't believe any of the results on websites like those.

You just needlessly repeated yourself. I'm pointing out the ratings from the same site to get a base for how those films did using the same system. Also, the audience ratings for how much I liked a film line up with how I feel about said films.

    Ship of Heroes?

    Think in Beta or whatnot.

Playable and on Steam, but not officially released.

    I think

Nope. I think GG's game died in a whimper. I would look at the message boards of the spin-offs and GG's had the lowest amount of postings on there. Oddly enough years after CoH died I saw a user named Golden Girl on a different gaming platform's forum, and I still think it's her.

    Development's not cheap.

I think they used the graphic engine they did due to its low cost. They are still asking for $50 to access the game. At normal pricing, you can get the base game of GW2 and two expansions for that. Lets set aside the state of the game currently after all this time. Based on current trends, they would need to see a significant influx of talent to keep players around by adding content at a reasonable fashion, and they still have to pay the current talent as a reward for even getting it too being at a Live state. And again, this is all just to create the world. They haven't even hit the difficult part in terms of powers, animations, balancing, and bugs.

Scores on Rotten Tomatoes are notoriously suspect, same as any other site where "customer" reviews and product ratings are easily manipulated by bots and sellers paying for good reviews.  The Marvels being good or bad is subjective, but numbers don't lie.  Overall, the 46 million dollar opening weekend followed by a near 80% drop off in the following week is enough to inform you that the movie isn't performing and is a complete box office disaster.

The Audience Score for it still isn't the lowest for an MCU movie. Thor: Dark World has a 75% Audience Score. Iron Man 3 is at 78%.

  8. I already posted my thoughts in the Video Games section of the forum. Note, I had forgotten I was subscribed to their email newsletter. That's how long there has been in terms of an email update. The email incredibly implied the game was done even though it is not. I'm still baffled by the fact they don't have genuine detailed monthly updates. I have backed a number of crowd funding items and monthly updates are the norm. I'm a software developer. I have to give updates at least once a week on any project I am on. I've done daily updates.

Fun fact. You could have backed CoT at $50 a decade ago. You can now get BG3 for $59.99.

There's some debate as to whether or not it's "superhero fatigue" or people just not wanting to watch what they believe will be a garbage movie.

I went and watched it today. It isn't garbage. My wife said it was good, and far better than the second Ant-Man film. I genuinely enjoyed it. It was fun. It was a bit ridiculous. I think they did a good job of interweaving the three heroes in the film.  I have very debatable qualms with the film. I'm sure I could easily skip putting it into MCU's bottom 5 which honestly gets it into the solid territory. Even if I agree that it might only be a 3/5, that's still not garbage. FYI, Rotten Tomatoes Audience score is 83%.

  10. Outside of having cones, Dark offers an attack/heal where Time don't really need it. If I was going to do a Time Defender to solo with it, I would go Time/ice. You can stack holds fairly early on to take care of bosses. It's honestly on my list of things to make once I get some others to 50.

I'm liking the second season, but I don't like how long it's taking to return to the cliff hanger (?) from the first season. Introducing all these new characters is diluting the serious tone that the last episode of the first season finished on. I never read the comics, so I'm not sure how much it's deviating from it's source material.

They are streamlining it. There is stuff being added or removed. There's a lot of villains in the comics, so it can take them all sorts of time to do the series depending on how many they want to cover. There are three giant sized graphic novels for it so my guess would be three seasons, but they absolutely have content for more.

The good news is they only have one movie coming out next year, and that feels like the right kind of film to do well. I know DC is rebooting, but I am curious to know if they aren't going to get hit by the superhero fatigue as well. DC hasn't been pulling Marvel numbers anyway.  Blue Beetle nor the new Shazam film even pulled $100 million in domestic tickets, and I thought the first Shazam was great. The Batman didn't do $400 million domestically.

Personally speaking, I think Marvel/DC should build characters and storylines via TV shows and then make a movie when they have something worthy of it.

  13. I got an email about a new update. Note, I had forgotten I got emails about the game, so that tells you how often worthwhile updates are given. Still, the wording. The hope.

This is just saying they officially made the 8 playable areas and have them on their server for all to see. So after all of this time, they have 8 areas you can travel around. Yay?

Might I add to this discussion: Guild Wars 2

While I accept a number of issues with the game, it is the one MMO I played more than any other outside of CoH. KotOR would almost be there is I hadn't kept bumping up against paid content and me just not wanting to fully sub.

Yeah, but since you need to be in the mix, the cone one is a bit iffy. Time really benefits from being in close, perhaps even more than Kinetics.

A cone is easy enough to work around. Even if you skip the cone, you still have two strong ST attacks.

Its not about me wanting to heal. Its about blasters making any reason.

As for "it is as it is.".  Ya no. A bad idea is a still a bad idea. As for this build I'm most likely just going to kill the toon and remake it into a blaster that actually is a blaster and not a part time melee Wana be.

You took four powers from the Med pool including two heals. So yes, you wanted to heal.

Blasters have never since day one been a purely ranged class. In fact, their most damaging attacks come from melee. Needless to say, I'm not sure you actually understand the intent of a Blaster from the Dev's standpoint.

  17. In game descriptions are often misleading if not terrible. There are numerous Blaster secondaries which absolutely benefit from playing in melee. You really don't need the med pool when you can instead drop it for the Fighting pool. Add Combat Jumping and Maneuvers and you can work in decent enough Def. More so for Ranged as that's the ideal for a blaster. If you are worried about melee being crowded then I can tell you it isn't that difficult to get on a team with minimal to no melee in it. I've never really has much of an issue being in melee with a non-melee character. I tend to dive in first. 🤣

In terms of the build. You have Fly and Teleport. Pick one. Resuscitate is 2-slotted. I can't fathom it needing anything more than 1. Electrifying Fences is an AoE, so 1-slotting it is not going to be remotely effective. 1-slotting Charged Armor is also odd. Scare is a single target Fear power. Skip it. Honestly, this screams a Blaster build which is trying stay away and do some sort of support role when things like Emp/psy Defenders or Mind/emp Controllers exist. I mean, you 6-slotted Scare and skipped the nuke on a Blaster for crying out loud.

New Mutants, as I recall, got a very, very late start, with numerous delays, even after it was shot, and then was almost pushed out as a "hey, gotta get this old stuff off the shelf" thing.   The flaw with it, did not lie with it, but with the logistics people who were supposed to promote and push it out better.  (Well, that and Covid screwing everything up at the theaters.)

I still have doubts it did much of anything when it hit streaming. Outside of the pandemic, production delays can easily happen with these lesser known titles as well and maybe even more so.

I recall seeing a Madame Web in the 90s cartoon, so I'm wondering if either one of the women shown in the trailer will become her, or if there'll be some sort of reveal where she'll be introduced - either partway through or only at the very end...

The Madame Web in the comic is an elderly woman. They reimagined her as a young woman.
