With the Regen rework I might be slightly motivated to remake the original version of my namesake. I'll do a reroll of a Level 50 for another build first, but I liked my original Claws/regen even with Common IOs.
-
I don't slot before 10 unless I have an attuned IO which I can slot in at 7, and honestly, I'm lazy and likely just slot it in at 10 anyway. I solo at base diff setting for that of level. Hitting level 10 is easy enough. I would say on average I might die once getting to level 10. Something wonky might of happened if I die twice. You get so few slots for Inspirs, I typically chew through them like candy to keep spots open. All the more so if I have the Inspire(?) power you can get for free. I can't recall the power name since it's been ages since I rolled something new and got the power.

I went through the numbers for Kin, and the first three attacks are more than fine. It's everything else which is so bad it should have never hit the test server. CS not being able to Crit and merely recharging PS isn't the intended win since PS is so underwhelming anyway. Claws can stack the far superior FU with no other attack in play.

What you all think about that?.
As Sr. Software Engineer I think you're highly ignorant of what AI can actually do. Also, if an average gamer while in their basement can crank out CoH2, then how are they going to get a 'massive' number of people to buy into playing their version of it when it is so easy to replicate?

I haven't officially looked at Bill's build, but he's offered feedback on one of mine, and I saw enough posts by him to where I figure we are down to personal flavorings. I was still tweaking before my current break and settling on things. My point is, he put so many hours into his build and he had money to burn, so he's a s good as anybody to borrow and steal from in terms of a build. I don't think anyone in CoH player history is more associated with that combo than him.

Is Suoer Reflexes survivable?
It has the best DDR numbers, so yeah. The only real bane for a SR build is +ToHit.

Interesting to see all of the talk away from what the OP was asking. I would likely do something like Claws/rad as it will do the intended job, level up nicely after that, and still be good at 50. BA is going to be fine in the end, but it is slow to start. I'm not a fan of FA, but if you are just focusing on lower level content, then whatever.

Started with Brutes. Loved Brutes. played Brutes through the nerfs.
They are buffing Tanks. Again.
Look, I can play a Sentinel and tell myself I bring as much to the team as Blasters do. Similarly, I can play a Brute and say it is just as good as a Tank.
But I will not.
I am shattering all my 50 Brutes for parts. Done with the AT
Yeah, and you were done posting on the forum. 😆

Savage is Brute friendly. so I would do it with SR(because I did) or Shield(two TPs). The downside is those TPs, IIRC, are pets which don't benefit from Fury, but Savage is still great anyway.

It's funny how different people's play experiences vary. My first 50 was a SR/Dark Tanker and I thought that was the most boring character I'd ever played. The animations for Shadow Punch, Smite and Touch of Fear couldn't be more generic and I felt like I spent literally half the game rooted in the Shadow Maul animation. Meanwhile with Claws I have a ranged attack, a ranged cone attack, a melee AoE attack and a very cool animation heavy hitter in Eviscerate, plus I've been able to make some of the coolest costume options that I could never hope to have made with DM. Different strokes, I guess, but that's one of the things that makes this game so great.
I don't use Shadow Maul due to the animation. You need to play around with ToF with procs, and I'm not sure I'm still happy with it in my current slotting. Dark/sr Scrapper needs a little extra juice. Maybe one extra proc. My Dark/shield Scrapper feels fine, but that's a Scrapper and Shield helps nicely. Tankers don't due high DPS, they do larger AoEs. I don't think I could talk myself into a Shield/dark Tanker. It's simply too low of base damage even if said damage is consistent.
Eviscerate is a waste on a Claws build unless you somehow found yourself with underwhelming recharge. Spin + Shockwave are all you really need.

Could you share you build for Emma Strange? (Ill/Dark troller)
Would be very keen to see considering its one of your "top 10 most fun toons"I believe I used DocMidknight's build seen here. It's near T4, and I've been too lazy to fix anything on it as if there is anything genuinely wrong with it. It practically solos as well as anything I have even if it is slower than some builds.

Morning all, I was wondering if any of you have a spare moment if you could give me suggestions on how you would set up a build with this power set. I am terrible at doing builds and tried doing a couple of my own but unfortunately i just end up deleting it. I figure with some help and suggestions I could a good outline and go from there. Thanks
This still the non-purple build I use. There's maybe a couple 5-slot purples I could swap in, but we are nitpicking at point. Discussion for the build is also below. I really should update that aspect at some point though. Note, if all you are looking for is general team play then it works more than fine. My current diff setting for solo play is +3x8, and only gets changed based on the mission.

On that point and as an aside, do you think that a more exotic power set like Dark Melee gains a noticeable advantage over the more commonly resisted S/L sets? Not against every mob, obviously, but over the life of the character?
To the OP, I am REALLY digging my Claws/Bio right now... she feels as strong or stronger than any scrapper I've played to date.
I've only gotten a couple Scrappers to 50 using DM. I would still rather do more play testing on Dark, and this is me essentially logging into the forum for the first time in months, so no clue when I would be back in the game. I'm still trying to get Dark to be at a more happy place in terms of damage in part because it's raw DPS is on the low side. I would say I'm more happy with Claws, but it can get watching grass grow boring as where Dark is lesser, but it is just simply more consistent. As always, what you pair with things can alter performance, see Dark/Shield. I'm personally not a fan of Bio, but I have a Rad/bio Brute at 50. Damage isn't the issue.

Gotcha, you feel that Shield/Fiery on a Tanker just flat out outperforms the Scrapper version? I could see that with it’s natural damage and the addition of Combustion.
I haven't done the Scrapper version. I'm just saying going from Point A to Point B can be faster on that build than various Scrappers. Now add in a Tanker being far safer.

I'm looking at Claws/EnA myself. Seems like it would be solid defensively and still do well on the dmg front. Still messing around with what I want to pair with Shield Defense.
I like Claws on a Scrapper due to Spin having a shorter recharge and the crits help out Claws being Lethal damage at times. There's not enough alcohol for using Claws on a Tanker against a +4 boss of certain mobs types.

I could see a Fire/Shield Scrapper looking awesome and being bonkers.
The issue I have is the Tanker version exist. That build doesn't retire Brutes. It can retire Scrappers.

Dark cakewalks being the least resisted. The counter-point is its DPS isn't that great. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1arWBGWuwGCWqSrkLgnWK26xNTrILUO_QNKn8034A3L0/htmlview#gid=0

Rotten Tomatoes score (R.T.) / Metacritic score (M.C.):
Thor: The Dark World: R.T. = 67, M.C. = 54
The Marvels: R.T. = 62, M.C. = 50
Eternals: R.T. = 47, M.C. = 52
Captain America 4: R.T = 52, M.C. = 43
Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania: R.T. = 46, M.C. = 48
I didn't include the D+ projects, though I'll report that the hated Secret Invasion scored R.T. = 53, M.C. = 63 which would put it between the top two in this list.
So not the worst one out there, but definitely not far from it. It's pretty much tied with Eternals.
EDIT: Cap 4's score adjusted to show current status as of Feb 12 @ 6:30pm EDT USA.
The worrisome aspect is it is that low of a score, and it isn't even out yet.

My namesake here is Claws/wp. WP is simply their own willpower, and she uses the fingerless gloves, but the Claws look attached to them, so it is not the same as Wolverine. Batman can be super due to how much of a tactician he is so that can be considered natural.

Someone loves Fantastic 4 so much they have four fingers.

I don't think it will be that radical of a change as it is within the same AT. If you were going from Scrapper to Brute, you could play around where the ATOs go as you care less about procs triggering. As mentioned above, you might tweak a set bonus here and there, but that's essentially it. The -Res and KB/KD procs are going in the same places.
-
Things to note, EM can do a truck load of damage which means you can overkill in terms of damage. Also, Em is going to be less resisted than Claws so there will be times EM is simply outputting more damage depending on the target.

FF doesn't work that way in practice. Mids display of FF - recharge is wrong. The most it can be, even if it's constantly refreshed, is 100%. Which is why someone would suggest to turn it off in mids.
I went and looked at a Claws build I have without Hasten. Global Recharge is 102.5% While yes, that is informative to know about the procs, it really don't change my stance.
Guess who's back....
