  1. I actually rather enjoyed every single change thus far, save for this one. I love that content's being added. I love that the game is here. There was bound to be something I didn't like, though, not everyone can like everything in existence every second of every day, after all. :P
  2. And this I can agree with. But you have to understand that while I will still continue to play CoH, I am under no obligation to like or agree with every single change. Nor is anyone else.
  3. I interpreted what was there, I was not privy to the other thread. I was simply telling you what I was reading, in this thread.
  4. I again have to respectfully disagree. I've brought quite a number of folks to Homecoming, and the ability to fast-travel was a huge thing for them. Because of how long it takes to go from one zone to the next, in other MMOs. Not having to deal with it here, was a huge bonus for them.
  5. Then the first post in this thread is highly contradictory. "It was always our intention (which we communicated a long time ago) to fix the command in a way which preserves the ability to bookmark bases, but removes the other problematic aspects of the command. " This suggests they knew of the exploits 'a long time ago'. So you have to understand my confusion here, when you say they said one thing, but the first post says something 100% different.
  6. Where? Because I've re-read the first post in this thread multiple times and I do not see anywhere that specific explanation.
  7. My first comment was my argument. You're not obligated to agree with it. You can feel how you feel, if the changes make you happy, cool. I'm glad for you. :) But I'm afraid I simply can't agree for reasons I've already stated.
  8. But they said again, in the comment I pasted, that they knew of the exploit, and opted not to take it out because the commands had beneficial side effects. This is their commentary, not mine.
  9. "As for why it’s being changed, well that’s simple: You should not be able to teleport to any base, instantly, with no cost, regardless of your character’s level or progress, by using a simple slash command. Additionally, this command and other related commands had numerous other lesser-known exploitable issues." Bro, it's literally right there. 'Additionally'. Which means it wasn't the main reason.
  10. Because those words literally never came out of my keyboard, that's how? It was a suggestion to what could have been done in conjunction to literally anything else. The excuse used was that it was not how it was intended to work. The exploit was thrown in as an aside, and not the main reason. Thusly, if the reason it was talked about being removed before, simply because it wasn't how it was meant to work, why wait a whole year to take it out? Do you see where I'm coming from here?
  11. Which still requires a wait period. When for a year, we've had the option to choose what method of travel we preferred. I don't understand the reasoning behind this change, and I'm having a hard time accepting 'Well it was never meant to work this way' as an explanation. Because it could have been changed immediately rather than waiting a year, when a lot of people who came to very much enjoy the fast travel, now no longer have access to it, seemingly on a whim. Again, I point to the fact it's been here a whole year. The initial explanation says they knew this exploit, and that the allowance was left "Because the command had a beneficial side-effect - it allowed players to easily “bookmark” bases with macros and popmenus." I also never said that they removed it because of PVP. I only said that the slash commands could have just been removed for PVP zones.
  12. I don't understand the benefit to any of this, to be honest. Being able to teleport to a base via a command should have been removed immediately rather than letting people get used to it being there. I don't understand to what detriment it is to allow people to just teleport to a base, I mean there's a ton of Portal SG bases catering to the desire to fast travel. So you /know/ the desire for it is there. Now those bases have essentially been made useless, which means work and effort put in by said Portal SG creators were just thrown out of the window. Granted, you can still use the buttons if you're near a base portal. However, with how large the zones are, it still effectively makes travelling tedious and for lower levels, dangerous. In order to still utilize those slash commands, one needs several million for all of the prestige teleportation powers. Again, not possible for lower levels. I see a lot of 'Well, all you have to do is earn the powers to do all this.', which is great for those who not only know how to do it, but CAN do it, but what of the newer players? Earning the powers requires badge hunting, which will become all the more difficult to do with this particular change. This is also going to make the process of going through story content a lot more unpleasant, because it's going to take that much longer. Now, I'm not saying I want an 'Easy Button' added, not at all. What I am saying is, a lot of people enjoyed the option to fast travel by way of those Portal SGs, and a lot of people utilized them. No one, of course, was obligated to utilize them. They had the option of both normal travel and fast travel. You could have just turned those slash commands off for PVP zones. It seems like a much simpler solution than to do away with the ability to choose which method of travel you preferred.
  13. 1: Leaving it free would be great. As I know a lot of my friends wouldn't be able to play anymore if it became P2P. If not, If we move to a sub fee, the game is pretty old, maybe 10 dollars maximum as most people are on a tight budget. 2: A finished and functional Kalisti Wharf. 3: New powersets, please! 4: Improvements to base editing, ((I.E. more items to use. Maybe real kitchen items like stoves, ovens, microwaves, plates and glasses etc.... And more stereos and TV options without the weird pictures flashing across the screen.)) 5: Maybe more hair and costume options, we do need better long hair options for women, the only good looking one IMO is Glam but it does get boring to use only that. But thank you SO much for bringing our beloved COH back, I've missed it so much. Nothing else has compared to it.
