    How's this build for afk survivability? The s/l build and suggested farm from this thread seems to die quite often.. I would rather not have to watch a afk farmer seeing as in you know it's afk lol.. it seems like almost half the time when I check on him he's dead from the 10min afk farm that AA made.. the 5min one he usually survives fine. 

    The crater farm he is alive so far. Early days for testing though, but seems to have enough survival for the new fire farms. I still think a tanker is going to do better than this, but it doesn't seem like a night and day sort of shift.

    With a bit more testing he is faceplanting sometimes still. Less often than when I started, but still happening. I am actually finding better AFK results doing the tunnel, plonk him in between 4 groups, coming back in 5 rinse and repeat

  2. I updated my RAD/Fire Brute because I was too lazy to roll again, have been able to fire farm afk with this dude using Xtomic maps. Just if anyone was interested.

    I think another thing to consider is the "standard test" only looks at using the powerset's powers (at least I think that is the case....been a while since I read that thread). If so it is -=NOT=- actual gameplay. As noted upthread, the resistance debuff from Sonic benefits the other damaging powers the Sonic blaster has--what is in their secondary and epic power sets. 

     

    Its still a lot closer to gameplay than a pylon test.

    I think its fair to say sonic isn't really top tier dps for blaster. I think any blast set works fine for clearing any content but some hit a fair bit harder.
    I don't think the other guy was wrong saying its in the bottom half of the pile is my only point.

    I am pretty sure the chart is from this thread, its an apples to apple comparison for Blaster primary's using a mission clear as the timer.

     

    Much more true to actual gameplay.

  6. Good point with flares and blaze. Definitely worth swapping around a bunch of that stuff.

     

    I really can't defend my recharge 😛 I know its totally not necessary, I just really like chasing as much as I can fit in.

     

    I do have 30% slow resist so not none! its no 80% but not nothing!

    I really appreciate the effort and the build tweak, I will likely riff off this build with mine to see what I can come up with 😄

    The latest, Shed some recharge 😭, a bunch of HP, swapped around some sets.
    End result is range cap, En cap, 40% S/L. More damage procs for blaze, Build-up in drone (sadly looks like Build-up doesnt work for drone), KB prot outside clarion, additional slow resist.

  7. Appreciate the advice, I think for the theme will be sticking as I am if I change in the future will have a gander at what others can offer.


    The rebuild of this has been grand, he is a monster right now.

    Also note I am very new to trying to actually think about attack chains... most of my characters, while attacking all the time, are hitting buttons with some degree of randomness. Sure I'm going to do things like prioritize Freeze Ray or Bitter Ice Blast over Bitter Freeze Ray, but, in general, the WP/Kat/Soul is the only one tested so far that has a complete chain with no variation necessary. Most things have a partial chain, say maybe 3 consistent attacks but with some awkward gap to fill.

    WP/Kat/Soul w/ T3 Assault Radial, T3 Reactive, T3 Vorpal RP

    Run 1 - 4:31 (my toggles dropped again right before my next Ageless before 4:00)

    Run 2 - 4:05 (detoggled super speed at the start, detoggled maneuvers a couple minutes in)

    Run 3 - 4:01 (kept maneuvers also detoggled from the start now)

    Run 4 - 4:08

     

    Some other improvements

    - When FF procs are firing a lot, sometimes can chain Gloom->Soaring Dragon->Golden Dragonfly without Cross Punch. Trying to be aware of recharges enough to do that when possible.

    - When doing the 4 attack chain, tried rotating in Dark Obliteration when up instead of Cross Punch for the extra -res proc. Its DPA is not bad with 4 damage procs either.

    - Also tried to be more aware of Build Up being available. In normal play I typically just use Build Up type moves when running into the next mob or firing up a nuke, not used to being incentivized to use it as much as possible.

  9. My main reason for mace is actually theme wise the spiders go well overall, only other is its an easy way to boost out my S/L and En Def to close enough to the soft caps.

    Few question, Why 1 slot in blaze? its such a big punch.

    Why Ragnarok KD vs Overwhelming force for caltrops? isn't force the same thing just with a damage boost built in too?

    Why fire breath? its got really bad DPA and there is lots of AOE already?

     

    Have done some tweaks for more defense (SL and E soft caps), moved around lots of slots, got rid of acrobatics

    I think I will just press the trigger on the RAD/KAT armed with this info, might just do a slight tweak.

     

    Not likely to traditionally level so not too worried about needing a respec, I'll likely just park him at the door of my farmer till he hits 50 then start playing him IOd up already and make more tweaks from there.

    I have a concept for a RAD/KAT Tank (well more specifically its RAD + weapon of some kind) but have no real idea what I am doing build wise. I have played around with a few builds people had in posts to come up with the below, but damage is a bit so so, wondering if anyone could offer some advice to punch it up. All the builds I saw had skipped divine Avalanche is this a good idea?

     

    I think I want, hasten and recharge for Rads click abilities is this right? Is Kat a good pairing? Would claws be a better idea? I don't really know what works well with Rad and have not played much tankers!

     

    Way overcap on some resists. No idea how to fix!

    Back again, this time with a slightly different take. I wasn't 100% confident on the slotting here. Here is what I was going for, as much recharge as I could, hit cap for +3 (+4 optional), Def soft cap in most, Patch PSI as much as I could, as much damage as I could fit in with a solid ST and AOE.

     

    As always any help would be appreciated.

     

    Is energy drain necessary/fun? I have not done EA before!

    Okay with my tweaks.

    What I lost from your build

    • a little def, I am 0.2% off Melee cap, cap on Range and AOE still
    • 30 odd % of regen
    • a little fire/cold and psi res
    • a little status resistance

    What I gained

    • 500 400 odd hp (Mids doing something weird final HP is 2290 on live)
    • 11.25% recharge
    • 14% Damage
    • 2 -res procs 1 res proc

    So, Summon Widow won't be a great little help DPS wise. That set IS a good mule. But I'm personally a fan of Boxing - Stupefy 6pc as a mule. Recharge and ranged defense. You definitely don't want to skip Greater Ice Sword. In fact, that's the best spot to put the ATO2. Skipping Ice Patch? Man, that's like a set defining power. And with a defense based set, that soft AOE control it gives will ABSOLUTELY be a life saver. Red Fortune 6pc gives ranged defense and the 5% recharge, Food for thought. Active Defense is up so often it won't need a recharge. If anything, an End Redux. Still won't notice it.

     

    I did a quick take on it. Replaced Moonbeam with Zapp. Dropped Frost and took Ball Lightning instead. It won't need Tactics with this much global ACC and the Kismet also works hard. You'll be able to do the best ST chain with this and still do ridiculous AOE. I really liked this combo when I did it before. Anyways, here's my take. Hopefully it keeps the things you MUST HAVE (also, my best IM/BIO times do NOT use frankenslotting, and they're the current best times).

    Some lovely food for thought thank you! I might riff off some of these ideas! I can lose frost if I get lightning Ball, Mu looks good. Yeah for Widow its really just a set mule it seems to melt in about 3 seconds most of the time.
