  1. Other than playing CoX/Other Games, how are people under lockdown passing the time? I've been rewatching Arrested Development for I think the third time and it's still not getting old. This'll be the first time I've seen the fifth season, though.

Also using this time to catch up on my movie backlog. Slowly coming to realise that I may not be smart enough for many, many films.

  2. As of today I'm officially on furlough from work, so I've got a month to catch upon my backlog. I'm either going to start Ys VIII, finally finish Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, or I'm going to ignore both of those and replay No-One Lives Forever for no real reason. Third one sounds good...

  3. Been doing Von Grun's arc for the first time today and this entire bit from Arbiter Daos absolutely slayed me:

"We've been watching you help out Vernon von Grun, [Character]. In fact, we've had our eye on him for a while now. Von Grun is a genius, alright. He's also reckless, immoral, obsessed, and likely a danger to everyone around him. In other words, a perfect mad scientist candidate. We've been wondering when he'd finally make his big break, and it looks like what he needed was some professional help. A pro-level villain, I mean. Like you.

I'm not upset about the base. A base here or there is a small price to pay for good mad science. Why do you think we keep Dr. Aeon around? That guy's a complete loon, but if you need to power a city by tapping into an entombed demon, you can't let sanity stop you. And organizations like ours always need more mad scientists. Sure, we've got Aeon and Weaver-1, and even Grillo when he really gets into it. But compare that to the Council: Nosferatu, Vandal, Arakhn, Burkholder, even Requiem dabbles in mad science sometimes. And don't even get me started on Nemesis! We need more mad scientists if we're to keep up, and we've been hoping that von Grun would make the leap. It looks like he will, thanks to your help.

Now, I have to interrogate him to see how well he rants under pressure. In the meantime, you should check out that Hamidon organelle the Crey have."

  5. Started a new blueside alt today: The Competitor, a WP/StJ tank. The idea was that he's an Olympic athlete who was experimented on and became superhumanly strong/fast/durable. When making his costume, I really wanted to include all the colours of the Olympic Rings - red, blue, yellow, green and black - but I can't really make them work in a way that's satisfying to me. If anyone else would like to take a stab at it, it'd be appreciated!
I originally made him with the classic kind of Golden Age spandex look in mind, so you can continue down that road if you like, but I don't mind people making him look more contemporary!

  6. The past week or so I've been wanting to make a character kind of similar to the old "mystery men" like The Shadow or The Phantom, i.e. a guy in spandex whose only superpower is shooding gun. I couldn't really nail down what I wanted for it, but today I was thinking about older tokusatsu characters, specifically Moonlight Mask, and I ended up going more in that direction - so I have yet another new alt, a DP/Martial Combat Blaster named Gekko Tiger (Moonlight Tiger was taken...)

Not sure if I should change up the colours of the crescents to maybe a gold or something, but for now I'm pretty happy with how that turned out!

Perhaps not in the same sense a villain would consider living, but Longbow does a good job keeping the southern end of Nerva in pretty good shape.  Biggest worry there would be getting abducted by Crey nearby I think.  Cap Au Diable isn't bad either if you don't mind people with jetpacks breaking into your appartment and stealing your electronics periodically, or the demon that's plugged into the power grid.

...I think I'm just gonna say they use their ill-gotten riches to fund a permanent room at the Golden Giza.

  8. For some I had a vague idea but I'd never really thought about it for my main, oddly enough. In line with a lot of people in thread I guess Hissatsuman would be in some run-down apartment in Kings Row and runs a karate dojo downstairs for local kids to get them off the streets and not getting involved with Skulls, dyne, or getting zapped by Clockwork.

Ecoman is the personification of all the greenery in Atlas Park (but is unaware of this fact), so when not heroing he just kind of dissipates in that general area.

I dunno where my villains would live. Where in the Rogue Isles is nice?

The higher ups started work on console ports to get them juicy console players into the money drip. This however was done at the expense of developing new content on PC. Led to hemorrhaging playerbase,

Ah yeah, I remember the console ports being announced. Never played them, but I remember the big "Omega" change and that sucked.

  10. I've seen all the films - I think, I'm pretty sure I'm not missing any - and I just kind of let the solo ones wash over me. Seeing Iron Man was really cool and I loved it, but by now the formula is pretty apparent and it's hard to really get excited about any of it beyond "hey, this is something I can zonk out to for 90 minutes". Captain America: The Winter Soldier was a genuinely good film, though, and I enjoyed the Spider-Man ones. The big event ones like Civil War and Infinity War are loud, stupid and left me feeling like I had vaguely wasted my time, but hey, that's every event comic Marvel puts out, so in a way they're perfect adaptations!

The Netflix stuff I didn't watch all of but generally what I did see was good. I watched Daredevil S1 and 2 and those were good, caught Punisher S1 and that was good. Luke Cage S1 was decent enough though got weaker as it went on. Skipped Jessica Jones because I was never a fan of the Alias comic, Iron Fist S1 was awful and I never watched further - I'm a huge IF fan and that show was absolutely heinous. Killed any interest I had in watching Defenders, also. Haven't checked out Cloak & Dagger because those characters have never not been lame as hell.
I saw that there's going to be a Moon Knight show and I'm a really big fan of that character so I'll end up watching that at some point, though I'm sure not paying for Disney+. Out of the movies I guess I'm most interested in how the Shang-Chi one turns out.

  11. There was a costume contest with a "gangs" theme on Everlasting yesterday and by some miracle one of my characters won, so I may as well post up my one good villain, Skull Mask, a Thugs MM:

Back Detail is a single-shoulder Fortune short cape, which I've always found works really well for a scarf look. I cannot remember why I made this character but I sure am glad I did now!

Yes, and it was horrid back in the day, taking 2 hours or more and almost a cringeworthy recipe for failure on PUG teams

Posi was the only TF I ever attempted back on live. Went in with a PUG team, we wiped in the first mission, never went near another. Good times!
