How to stack items

Is there a way to stack items on top of each other? 

 

Or just easily move things like the COT Water Fall up a wall, pillar or whatever?

While you have the item you want to stack/move selected, press F5 to cycle through the options until you get to "Surface", then drag/drop it on top of the object you want to stack it on.  Keep in mind this may lead do some oddities in how the item will get placed.
