Soloing a Stalker through the story arcs - what enh's and when?

Good morning forum!

I typically group on all of my characters and as a result I miss a lot of the story content. I have a level 16 Ice/Bio stalker that I want to solo up and follow story arcs on.

On most of my characters, I get by on whatever drops for enhancements in DFB/DiB until i get to level 22 and then I put level 25 IO's in. This is good enough to get me to 50 when I can slot my final enhancements in there.

Are there certain enhancements that you would recommend I slot earlier on this solo character? I'm thinking Perf Shifter proc and some of the health procs maybe (attuned so they work at all levels). What level can I put the Stalker ATO's in and should I do it while leveling or once at 50?

I understand that on regular settings, a Stalker should be able to solo most content, but I do like to optimize my efforts if possible.

Appreciate your general comments, direction, feedback, etc. 🙂

The ATOs require level 10 minimum, so you could totally put them into your build right away and have them level up with you.
As for the rest, I would look into Performance Shifter, Miracle, Panacea and Numina procs as they are low level.

Possibly also look into Steadfast Protection +def, Luck of the Gambler +haste and other such frankenslot sets that offer good 1 off bonuses available at low levels

This is a really good list of IOs that have an extremely low risk of being useless in an end-game build so it makes sense to get them as early as possible (buy them attuned). In addition to getting those items early, my strategy is usually:

  • buying rare sets as I go if I already have an end-game build planned (I usually do)
  • buy cheap placeholder sets in place of purples and such or if I don't really know what I'm going to do with the build
  • just go with level 25 generic IOs if I'm really lazy

Option two is usually pretty good. Cheap uncommon sets come with much better enhancement values than generic IOs and you can often get them at a similar price level to level 50 generics, plus you'll get some set bonuses on top of it all.

Torchbearer:

Sunsinger - Fire/Time Corruptor

Cursebreaker - TW/Elec Brute

Coldheart - Ill/Cold Controller

Mythoclast - Rad/SD Scrapper

Give a man a build export and you feed him for a day, teach him to build and he's fed for a lifetime.

I ALWAYS go for these hehe. I usually go for 1 or 2 Perf Shifters (depending on build) along with Numina and Miracle in health. Then the rest in 25 IOs until 50. I'll add in some more along the way as slots open up but usually only in my attack powers and only when I have a batch that I can do.

I suppose though that since this is a solo stalker build it might be a good idea to keep all slots filled !
